  • Spirulina (spelling?) I have used for a few years now. My sister says it helps her to think more clearly? I've used it mostly as another greens supplement. I think it helps me with cravings of any sort. A probiotic does as well though. I pretty much only use coconut oil topically (but for Everything!) Chlorella I dropped.…
  • I am reading Mary Poppins by PL Travers (it's so light hearted and fun! It's my daughters school book... totally sat down with it tonight) and The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gains. It's a fast read. Very "them" if you like the show Fixer Upper. Several others with my kids for school.
  • Curious but why don't you use a tablet of some sort and down load a version on to it. Usually you can change the font size for preference then... I prefer to make notes to myself but Then maybe just keep a pad of paper instead? The option would be much lighter for travel and you leave the heavier one at home.
  • Game changer for me too. Don't know why. Gives me focus! And more calories to munch on!
  • I personally find them more effective than steady state. I WILL work harder if I know i have to do it for less time (intensity is relative to fitness level and I would just like to add that what might be considered a "cardio interval" for one MAY in fact be HIIT for somebody else). Fitness isn't a blanket statement. I'm a…
  • Talk to your doc and or RD (if you get there) about your macros. You may craving energy bc you just burned all of your sugar working out. Ask them to help figure out how to balance that so you get past the hunger hurdle. I have found eggs Help w an overall all day satiety but nothing beats the right balance after a work…
  • Same question: following. :)
  • If one has a dairy allergy for example, one is still hard pressed to give up things like most chocolate, ice cream, buttermilk pancakes, even buttered toast- it's especially difficult when it doesn't always seem to affect you. So I wouldn't be to hard on her for eating stuff she knows may not go over well. That is- unless…
  • I have found that if I have bowl of brown rice earlier in the day that I have a much reduced sugar craving the rest of the day-it's not white sugar and comes w some other nutrients. It also fills me up. Then I can have a cookie or two and I'm Far more satisfied than if I have Cheerios for breakfast. Pineapple is super…

  • Kellymom says a nursing mother may restrict calories to between 1500-1800calories. The website has a lot of very good info on nursing. I would recommend it. I have found I have issues w supply if I am below 1500 more than two days in a row and when I exercise I need to stay between 17-1800 or I get dips there too. FWIW, I…
  • Your skin looks so different. Is your style of eating the same? Or did that change and what to?
  • This is lifting for me. So I'm waiting until I get closer to goal weight
  • Dr. Barnard has some good stuff at the pcrm.com website: http://www.pcrm.org/media/experts/neal-barnard-diabetes-book
  • You are beautiful and so is your attitude <3
  • "Why do I have the one who has to be so strict all the time?" -- that is how it starts in my head and spirals out of control. My dh doesn't even have to work to be slim. And I have to work my tail off while pregnant and nursing to not gain and retain every pound. It's probably selfishness on my part-but I see that and I…
  • Water. Differing amounts of sodium eaten different days can cause your weight to fluctuate widely. If you're female, the hormone cycle can cause you to retain water. If you work out, how much you sweat compared to how much you hydrated can change how much water your body has in storage. There are several factors.
  • If you think dairy is bothering you, train the Orgain shakes or powder. They are plant based and dairy free. I buy mine at Costco. I have seen them on Amazon or at target premade. I *thought* my headaches associated w dairy but when I got migraine for a month straight in my third pregnancy, I tried plant based eating and…
  • Another Apple Watch devotee Here. I don't have experience with the Fitbit but compared to my moms, they track the steps in the same ball park (same walk). I use it for its other capabilities as well- I like the notifications for texts, that I can "catch" a call without scrambling for my phone (4 kids it's a wonder I can…
  • Honest hard work. Nothing beats it. I love mowing for that reason. Very satisfying congrats. I hope you have many more days of mowing in front of you--cooler ones too
  • This was totally encouraging to me. Good job so far. Keep on keeping on... :)

  • I am 5'5" and hit 190 and 202 with two of my four pregnancies. While I think it's worth keeping an eye one and I didn't feel super awesome at those weights (let's be honest, who truly does at 9 months pregnant?), it was never and issue for my attending practitioners. - just from a been there perspective.
  • Kellymom.com is an excellent resource for this topic. I found anything under 1500 cal to affect supply- especially if I did any exercising. Walking a lot and carrying baby while doing so is excellent for both of you. Oats and a beer in the evening are good for supply. Fenugreek is a supplement for supply- usually used in…
  • Eat an egg w some salt on it instead and see how you feel or have a Gatorade. That's how I feel when my blood pressure gets out of wack from low sodium. Shouldn't take much to make you feel better if that's what is causing the problem
  • I have four too and stay at home (homeschool)- keep in your calorie goals, drink a good bit of water, don't eat what your kids don't finish! And walk... A lot. Mine are 7years old to 10months old. I got a fitness tracker in May and am getting my steps up to 10k. You don't have to spend a lot of time fussing at it to get it…
  • Agreeing with Christine-72. Part of it being the confidence to go with it of course...
  • I don't normally comment in here. Usually just lurk but your writing made me chuckle. I'm sure you're that much happier. Kudos to your pup for being the motivation and you for sticking to it!
  • Have you read Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease or Eat To Live? Either of those books may help with the component of "what" it "how" to eat that is heart healthy- mostly here it's just "lower your deficit"- eat less than you move. But that may or may not be helpful for your heart conditions. Just my .02.
  • This. I have this and my main symptoms were dizziness and blacking out. Salt Is the first thing to increase in order for prevention- raises your blood pressure. Beta blockers is actually the generally prescribed meds but being pregnant and nursing they didn't like that. The next option bc of that is Anti anxiety meds- Bc…
