  • I don't think there's anything wrong with a cheat meal now and again. I used to give myself a cheat day once a week though, and eventually realized that I could easily shovel enough calories in my face on that one day to undo all the other good days. So I have to make treating myself a more occasional thing, but I think if…

  • I'm in! I just set my personal goal for my birthday, which isn't until May, but this will help me on my way :)
  • I have over 100 to lose, though I've set a smaller goal for now. Always looking for new, motivating friends, so feel free to add me!
  • I feel the same way. I'll feel motivated for a few days and then it all disappears in the face of something I wanna eat. I was just thinking that I could use some new mfp friends because the ones I have are great, but they are all doing so well. I need some people who suck at this too, lol. Misery loves company and all...…
  • My goal was to also go vegetarian with the beginning of the year. Hasn't really happened yet... I've stopped buying meat when grocery shopping and won't make it at home anymore, but I'm still eating it out and at other people's houses. It's a rough transition for me... it's just so tasty!
  • Nerd here too. Into a lot of the typical nerd things - comics, Marvel movies, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, etc. I love to read, am pretty internet-obsessed, watch way too much tv and movies, and trivia :)
  • Because I've actually lost this week and been doing pretty good. Don't want to ruin my streak!
  • I usually get it. I'm a nanny and my boss is a doctor and usually asks me to get one, or asks if I'm interested and she pays for it. Keeps her kids from catching anything from me, and keeps me from getting sick from any of them, so it's a good plan all around.
  • I had IBS like symptoms for years before really looking into it, but i eventually had a test done for food intolerances and found out that I was eating a ton of things that I reacted badly too. Avoiding those helped a lot, and when I couldn't resist, I at least knew an episode would follow shortly thereafter. I still had…
  • I have around 150 to lose. I've hit a rough patch, but am determined to over come it and get back on track!
  • Spartacus Breakout Kings Queer as Folk I also agree with Pushing Daisies and Destination Truth!
  • The sea salt caramel is to die for...
  • Me too! I'd be happy with TIme Lord or Companion :)
  • I like good ones on other people, lol. I've been planning various tattoos for myself for 15 years now, but still haven't gotten one, so who knows if it will ever happen. I've been thinking that it might be a good reward for losing a significant amount of weight... I just have trouble trusting someone to put something on me…
  • That's amazing! I hope to make it to 100 one day :)
in I made it! Comment by KatDJZ July 2014
  • Yeah. There aren't a lot of foods I don't like, but just recently for my birthday my boss made be angel food cake cupcakes because she knew I was trying to eat healthy and wanted to still give me cake. I really don't care for angel food cake, but I ate them anyway because it was very sweet of her to do that for me. They…
  • I'm in the middle of The Next Big Thing by Jennifer Weiner and Skip Rock Shallows by Jan Watson. I'm really enjoying both and having a hard time choosing which to read at any given time.
  • Probably the large Baconator (double, of course) meal from Wendy's with a vanilla Frosty. Side of ketchup & mayo to dip everything in...
  • Did you just start working out? When I first got started, I noticed that I wouldn't lose when I was exercising more than I had (which was never, really...lol). But eventually everything got settled or whatever and I lost what I had expected to. Just wait it out, it'll happen.
  • I'm nowhere near the point where it's an issue yet, but I worry about it in the future too. Everything I've hear about avoiding it to whatever degree you can is to lose weight slowly, workout, especially weight training, keep hydrated, and give it time. I guess we'll see whether or not that works.
  • As a current size 26/28 I'm blown away by your transformation! I don't know that I'll ever get that small, but you're proof that it's possible.
  • I was thinking about this yesterday. I started off the day feeling good about my progress and the clothes I was wearing that fit better, but then I caught a look of myself in the mirror and I guess it just didn't match up with how I was feeling and I felt pretty bad for awhile. I mean, god knows I've looked this way for…
  • I'll second that, Fables is awesome! Welcome :) I also love Harry Potter, of course, and watch all the same tv shows...plus so much more, lol. Nice to see there are so many people here with similar awesome taste.
  • Hey :) I'm Kaitie and I have about 175 to lose currently. I'd love some new friends who have a large amount to lose because as great as the ones I already have are, most are way fitter and have less to lose, so I can't relate as much, lol.
  • I'm the exact same way! I can do great all day, but the evening is where it all goes wrong. I don't know if it's because I'm bored or genuinely hungrier then, but whatever it is, it's a constant struggle. I find it's not so bad when I'm at home because I don't have much food that tempts me here. But if I'm spending time at…
  • I've been doing this for a little while now, but it's been just recently I've really committed and it's been going well. The support I get from people here really helps, so I hope it does for you as well! I gained all my weight slowly over my whole life, but I have a ton to lose, so I'll certainly be here for awhile :)
  • I know a lot of people don't like the pills and either worry about them being unhealthy or consider them "cheating" but I am a lot like you and have trouble controlling my food intake and generally feel the need to keep eating until I'm stuffed. But my sister started taking Phentramin-D and it worked great for her so I…
  • At least once a week on my designated cheat day, but often more than that. I figure as long as I keep trying I'm moving in the right direction and if I'm paying any attention to what I'm eating, I'm still doing better than I was originally to get myself in this state.
  • I would have expected more after 172 pounds! If I ever get to my goal weight, I assume I'll have much more than that, so I don't think it's a case of her losing it too fast or anything like that.
