My total weight loss I would like to achieve is too big for a single goal. I have set mine up as 10% goals. Each time I will lose 10%, then I set a new 10% goal. Incrementally, it will be a smaller and smaller amount to lose after each 10% goal is reached. I know this isn't going to be an overnight thing. It is a lifetime…

Hello MommaBear I am 51 and needing to lose 100+ pounds. I have a little support at home too. I have been on this site a little over a week and I am finding the best support system here. Take it one day at a time. It is not a diet. It is a lifestyle change. I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic in 2008 and have struggled with…

First thing, you aren't dieting. You are changing your lifestyle...from sedentary to active and from not eating well to healthy eating. You have support - here and with your husband. Has he joined MFP???? Encourage him to do so, even if he does not have to lose weight. It is a "fitness" site... Good luck

Hello fellow Georgian! Uhm, from your profile picture it does not look like you need to lose weight - any weight. However, I am here for you. I have sent you a friend request.

Welcome. I am a newbie also. Let's get this party started!!!!

I am a newbie too. I am finding the nutritional data to be of value. I have to watch my carb intake and my sodium, so the food diary helps me see where I am hitting trouble. It is easy to read at a glance. Once you get your personal information set up (which didn't take long) you will be happy with how easy it is to use.…

As a diabetic that battles high fasting blood sugar number in the morning, I should eat protein to help bring the number down. So I would have one egg in the morning as a part of my breakfast. Just saying.

I think I am the Un-winner here. That means a take wayyyyyy tooooo many pills/meds for chronic health issues. I just have gotten sick of being sick and tired, so this past weekend I joined MFP and started to take my health and wellness seriously. I have 13 prescriptions and 3 over the counters. So here goes: hydrazaline -…

Ok Cheddar - you are my true inspiration. I have just started this journey this past weekend. I am currently taking 10 different prescriptions for hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure and 1 for depression. I need to lose 100 pounds (possible 110 pounds). My goal is to come off most if not all of the…

Wow. You look awesome. I just started this journey this past weekend. My body metrics are very similar to yours. What was your daily calorie intake? Thanks for sharing. It is inspiring and making me want to succeed all the more.

Ok Katt. I am up for the challenge. Remember, I am just starting this journey. I have a physically demanding job as a nursing home Central Supply Coordinator - which is glorified term for stock clerk. I receive and move a bout 1 ton of merchandise per day...and I move it box by box. I am diabetic, as my profile states.…
