You'd need to lose weight to be overweight. You're in the obese range (just barely but there). It might also be contributing to you feeling as if you are "middle aged".

At first I started running on alternate days and it worked out brillinatly. But the weights have recently become so heavy that I need a full rest day in between. So I'm attempting to move my runs to after lifts. As mentioned above, go with your gut. If it doesn't work out, make adjustments. What works today wont…

Not the thread to be browsing when you're about to go in for fasting blood work.

When reality is broken, it's time to make it more like a game. http://www.superbetter.com (free depression help site) --it's a site that gives you practical tasks that will help you become emotionally, mentally, and physically resilient. The creator was suicidal after a traumatic brain injury and decided to share how she…

Go to Planned Parenthood. I know you're not pregnant but it looks like a hormonal thing and you can get blood work there. Fees are on a sliding scale based on income so you might be able to get everything for free. P.S. I also agree that you're not eating enough which could be attributing to your hormonal imbalance. So see…

Try any of these: http://www.startbodyweight.com/p/push-up-progression.html

It isn't an all-or-nothing type of thing. You can ask for a different type or a lower dose to find one that will ease your symptoms without making you hungry all the time. Talk to your doctor about it. And yes, the pill will make some retain water.

If you can't walk, look up "Sit and be Fit". Also, see a Physical Therapist about the knee.

So ... goal met? Actually, not really, you need 5,250 calories over maintenance to do that. Try again.

East of Eden. You have to muscle through the first chapter but after that, it's among the more profound books I have read to date. Periodic but timeless.

I've gone 5 miles fasting without issues. Stay hydrated, pay attention to your body cues. As long as you're not running out of gas before your run is over, you'll be fine too. If your runs start to suffer, you can try some chocolate milk beforehand. I'll do that if I wake up hungry (doesn't happen too often but once in a…

5'1 with a large frame and 119 lbs here. I eat 1430 net to lose about a half pound per week (about 1500-1800 per day). I recently added a maintenance day to slow that down as I'm transitioning into maintenance. I agree that you need to increase the calories and lift if you want to lose inches. You'll likely be able to lose…

I've been working on mine with start bodyweight: http://www.startbodyweight.com/p/pull-up-progression.html I'm going through the progressions with an adjustable band assistant (gives me a little boost) and am hoping to graduate from it before the end of the year.

It sounds like you're out of gas. If you're not eating exercise calories back, make sure you're eating enough for your activity level: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ I also agree with slowing down on the runs for the majority of your mileage.

Carbs are awesome after a workout. I have chocolate milk since I normally don't feel like eating right away. Or cooking.

Here you go. It comes with pictures and everything. http://www.startbodyweight.com/p/start-bodyweight-basic-routine.html

At sedentary, your TDEE is 1625 for maintenance. If you are burning 250 calories per week through exercise, you can eat that much and lose a half pound per week. For calories burned you can try runkeeper (it has a walk setting) and will estimate based on your speed, distance, age/weight/height, and terrain. Anyway, you're…

Have you ever had a really fresh loaf of bread and you pull off a piece and it actually pulls instead of breaking off like cake? Gluten is what allows such a delicious miracle to take place.

I'm a bit taller at 5'1 but I was your weight a few years ago and could not lose with a very high deficit. I found that when I was set at a half pound loss per week, I would lose a half pound per week. If I ate less, I still lost a half pound per week on average so I ate more and focused on increasing my athletic ability…

Here are some great bodyweight exercises to help develop your core strength and stability - http://www.startbodyweight.com/ I am also a fan of lifting heavy but you can start the majority of these exercises today and without a gym. P.S. I also think that your age makes you very likely to not need surgery. Focus on…

Haha, that's a new one for me. She must be blessed with some serious genetics to believe that and look as good as you say!

If you watch the TedTalk, she explains the research and science behind the design, pretty powerful stuff.

Have you heard of superbetter? It's a free site like mfp. It was created by a woman who suffered a traumatic head injury and had to spend the better part of a year in bed. She was medically banned from doing most of the things that made life worth living. Anyway, the site incorporates a lot of the research and techniques…
