I stopped posting for a while when I was completing my last degree. I'm trying to start back up now that I'm beginning another. I have no idea how to add people anymore so please add me. I used to run a lot and am trying to get back to it. Any wannabe runners here?

My boys have trouble keeping on weight so pizza rolls are constantly stocked in the freezer over here as well. They aren't even teenagers yet... not looking forward to those grocery bills!

I've been testing KP recipes this week on my boys and about half of them are failing. They enjoy a lot of the pre-packaged stuff but I'm trying to cut down on our pesach grocery bills.

Awesome!

Those fitness programs use the TDEE method and come with calorie recommendations based on fitness level, height, weight, age, weight goals, etc. So take whatever calorie recommendation it calculated for you and enter that as your daily goal on MFP (or make sure you average that number over the week to meet your goals).…

How much do you weigh?

Being 71, it might be a good idea to see a doctor and have your levels checked just to make sure everything is where it should be.

Soufflé!

What's wrong with lasagna for breakfast?

I had no idea this was a thing. :noway: Probably cancer. Doesn't it always?

What? No lightly toasting the bread to sanctify the sammy? That's sacrilege!

My mother also did hot dogs with mac & cheese pretty frequently. Though I don't recommend it unless you really need a mega dose of salt. Back when I was pregnant with my first boy, I would add a chopped up tomato and cook it with the pasta. Now that was delicious!

What types of things do you often cook that requires dairy in it? There are often easy substitutions. Unsweetened coconut milk is nice for baking and I prefer Earth Balance margarine. I second the banana swirl recommendation. I can eat ice cream but will freeze bananas whenever they start to get too ripe and it's an…

I prefer Stouffer's mac & cheese. It's cheesie goodness with a side of pasta.

Shift to maintenance for a week or two, then go back to a deficit (half pound per week or so). If anything you'll get a strength boost and end up burning more calories per workout by the time you go back to a deficit.
-
My question would be, how long have you been tracking your eating and working out? It's common to gain the first week or two of starting a new workout, even on a deficit.

Those frosted cookies that are basically cupcake tops? OMG

My last "doctor" defined it as anything white. I couldn't give up my cauliflower though and nothing gets between me and my quinoa!

I'll wrap my arms around hubby every now and then and comment on how much easier it is or how much room I have in my arms (it used to be a much tighter fit and at one point, I had trouble getting my fingers to touch).

Sunflower oil and wheat thins will hardly meet your 0.4g of fat per pound of bodyweight requirement.
-
Fat soluble supplements like calcium wont get absorbed without adequate fat so you can start there, 0.4g per pound of bodyweight.
-
In our family, we used the word cup to refer to a drinking container that wasn't glass (paper or plastic), not necessarily as a unit of measurement unless we were cooking. So I can see people not making the connection, especially if they don't cook.

You say the low-cal diet worked 5 years ago but you're back with even more weight than you had to lose last time. Just ponder that a moment. Also, 45g of fat is not keto. Please do some research and/or join a keto group if that's the path you want to take.
-
If you're going for a lower calorie diet (losing more than a pound per week), you're better off being over in fat IMO. It will make sure you absorb the nutrients you are getting and help keep your hormones in check.

Yep, bodyweight training. http://www.startbodyweight.com/

You have a good deal of muscle from carrying around 50 extra lbs all the time. You'll be maintaining a lot of that which will start to show once the BF% goes down more. No worries, your muscles will start to show on your way down the last 50 as you shed the fat around them.

Track stars don't run, they sprint. If they were endurance training they'd be taking shorter strides, just like you.

http://xtramath.org focuses on memorization and speed. If you take too long on a problem or get it wrong, you'll get the same problem again a few times (sometimes mixed with other problems) but enough to hopefully memorize it. My son thought he was gaming the program when he realized this, lol. There are also challenges to…

My younger son was having issues with memorizing his multiplication tables so we made going on here a routine: http://xtramath.org/ (30 minutes after homework). It actually has its own timer and he didn't like having to restart it after it said he was done but he was failing his tests so he had to buckle down. When he…
