5'3, 99 lbs, severe deficit ... I think you need to talk to a doctor and have a blood panel done.

I think you're going to start seeing too much of your rib cage if you lose another 10lbs. Take up some heavy weight lifting if you need to do something while you work on your self confidence. It would be good for battling depression and shutting out mom's voice in your head. P.S. You don't even have a belly; your mom's…

"Experts" used to recommend 15-20 reps to failure for women and was considered "light weight lifting." Heavy weight lifting was/is basically anything beyond that range. The first time I attempt something it's 8-10. The second time I'll go for 6-8. Afterward it's 4-6 (going heavier every time I succeed in getting 6 reps).…

There meetup.com where you can search for groups for like-minded people in your area that organizes events periodically. You can search your interests or pick a new hobby and let the meetup group help you get started. There are also groups for family members of addicts (I don't know them, sorry). But you can call up a…

You're probably eating more to compensate which is making you stronger, not smaller. Time to start logging!
-
When I first started exercising a lot, I had a period every 90 days. It's not uncommon. It eventually returned to normal.
-
Um, how tall are you?
-
Eating too little, especially when performing a lot of exercise, will make you retain water. It's also not good for your body, will start to cannibalize the nutrients in your muscles for fuel (p.s. your heart is a muscle).
-
How tall are you and how many calories are you eating per day?
-
I wouldn't think they would both have to move to colorado. Just move HIM to colorado. It's his lifestyle choice, not hers.

I think I would take time to realistically go over the consequences; he might be thinking he'd get a fine or community service if he got caught and you're therefore overreacting. A misdemeanor is often a fine but how much? He'll have to go to court and to make sure that no other charges are added on by a cop having a bad…

In the Minnesota starvation experiment, men ate 1537 calories so no, 1400 calories is not a minimum for men, especially not 6ft tall ones. Scooby says eat 2094 before exercise: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

NEVER neglect leg day!

Yay for more calories. :flowerforyou:

Here's another calculator you can try: https://www.exercise.com/activity/weight-lifting

Under add cardio, type in strength training. Then type in minutes. A heart rate monitor is always more accurate but mfp DOES have a means to add calories burned through strength training. EDIT: oops, person above me mentioned it too. There you have it :-).

Progestin-only bc has less hormones/side affects than the others so the odds are in your favor. But you wont know until you start taking it. I get more cravings around TOM but I take seasonal so it's only 4 times a year.

Get a stroller and give them a ride to a nearby park. Then keep up with them for a few hours.
-
How about a dip? Get some decent olive oil and basalmic vinegar and go Italian on your toast.
-
Targets are based on your age and are more appropriate for steady state cardio like running, biking, swimming, etc. If you're doing home workouts or whatever, you'll shift below and above that range throughout your workout which is perfectly fine.

So is butter.
-
Raw cashew or almond butter is supposed to have a mild taste similar to butter. I've seen them recommended in recipes for homemade dairy free chocolate. But .. do you really put that much butter on your toast?
-
OMG, do not eat 1400 for cutting fat! It's not about starvation, it's about losing a whole lot of muscle with some fat but you wont cut. A young man your size shouldn't eat less than 1800 net. EDIT: someone above beat me to this info, so I'll just second that. Take up some heavy weight lifting and eat maintenance or a very…

I eat frozen bananas almost every day. You don't need to add anything. Let it thaw for a few minutes then blend or stick it in a food processor. It ends up with a very creamy texture that tastes and feels like ice cream. I think kids these days call it banana swirl. I slice them up before freezing on some foil or a paper…

I drink chocolate milk after runs for recovery which is awesome. And lunch would be the perfect time for them to have it. But omg, it has evil sugar and we must save the children from sugar! Last year the school asked me to stop giving my boys chewable Vitamin C because that was dangerous. I was speechless when they…

I'm 36 years old and have been running on and off for 3 years. My average run is about 5 miles though I've ran up to 7 in the past. I'm hoping injury doesn't hold me back this time as I aim for that elusive half-marathon. Add me!
-
That calculator was probably telling you to eat 1700 rather than net 1700.
-
Make sure you're not running too fast. You should be able to talk comfortably during your run intervals. Breathing should be moderate but you shouldn't be gasping. If you are, slow down. My first time trying it out, I was able to get through the first two weeks but because I was trying to maintain too fast a pace, I…

Look up the fish you're eating and see if there is a mercury issue. Normally fatty ones test low, especially salmon. As long as that's cool, you're good to go. Assuming you're american, this has a nice list: http://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/fishmercury.htm (weekly recommendations are for pregnant women though).

HIIT is great if you're in shape enough to do it correctly. Some overweight people who attempt it aren't quite there and it becomes an anaerobic interval workout rather than a true HIIT workout. That doesn't make it wrong and if they stick with it, they'll likely start hitting their Vo2 max. Bottom line, if you're doing…
