My point exactly. I had one person give me this for an excuse "Well, I'm used to how Mcdonalds does it."

After that happened a time or two with the capp, I started double checking that they knew what they were ordering if they ordered more than 12oz, because seriously, who wants that much foam? I like to check with "do you like your cappuccino wet or dry?" and wait to see if they get a puzzled look on their face.

MFP has a built in deficit, you should always be aiming to "net" the amount of calories it has given you for your weight loss. Your calories should never be in the negative by the end of the day! If you're burning 1400-1500 a day, you should probably eat at least 1000 of those back!
-
So you're saying that your "net" calories are in the negative by the end of the day?

I work for a small, independent coffee shop and nothing comes to mind as far as "crazy" requests, but there are a few things that just drive me up the wall, such as ordering a 20oz cappuccino and complaining that there's too much foam! I get that not everyone can be a coffee expert, but if you're not sure what the drink…

I've got some sweet potatoes in my kitchen tonight, I think I might steam them!

My suggestion is not to rush your weight loss. I know it's hard when you have a vacation coming up and you want to look your best, but you do need to eat enough to keep your body going. I say take your time and let the weight come off slowly. You might not make it to your goal by the cruise, but you'll be well on your way…

Bump! I would like to know.

You could just get a bar of dark chocolate and eat a little bit of it, then save the rest for your chocolate craving on another day!

I think as a general rule, juniors sizes are odd numbers, womens are even numbers. So if you fit into a 9 in juniors, you'd probably be a 8 or 10. I hope that answers your question.

Yep, this is also why every newscaster in America sounds like us.

Thanks so much for all the advice, as I'm sure you could imagine I'm pretty new at this stuff still, and you guys have a lot of great ideas!

Please?

I'm interested to see what folks respond with here... You might have a bit of trouble keeping that weight off, since now your body is going to want to hold on to everything you eat after starving it the way the HCG diet works. Good luck!

Just to clear this up, I work for a small, independent coffee roaster that only has one location. I don't know where you live, but coffee culture in the Pacific Northwest is different than the rest of the country. We take pride in our independent shops and many do only have one location!

You realize that many employees in service industries are paid based on the idea that they will be receiving tips to supplement their paychecks. As a barista of four years, I've received one raise, EVER. And that was still barely over min. wage. And the reason is that many places (particularly food establishments) cannot…

I have a coworker who is kind of the same way. In fact, he said a not-so-sensitive thing to me today, not about my weight but kind of my appearance in general. I think he was joking, but it came out so naturally that it seemed he had to have really felt that way. It's always the worst when they don't realize that they're…

Same here.

I would like to join :)

I'm getting up and doing my Zumba DVD first thing for about an hour or so.

Personally, most of my weight loss-- and I'm nearly at my goal-- has been through diet alone and not much, if any, exercise up until fairly recently. So let me tell you from personal experience, yes, you can easily lose weight with just diet alone, but you will not be nearly as happy with the results. I wish I had had the…

I wonder if anyone in this thread can answer my main question regarding zumba... As an already slim person, will I see any toning from doing zumba? I mean, I'm already at a healthy weight, I just want to tighten up without spending so many hours on boring weight lifting and such. I just can't get myself to stick to all…

I think I'll go get myself a glass of water now.

The class is power yoga, but it's only twice a week. Will that be enough? I guess I could try it out for a while and add more if I feel like I need it. I'm just so lost in this muscle building thing, I'm needing some reassurance :/
-
I've gotten the impression lately that the only way to really work muscles and get the "ideal" physique is by weight lifting, but that just sounds so boring to me. Have you guys seen an improvement in strength and muscle tone while doing these, or am I really going to have to do weights to get the body I want?

This site has been a huge help for me in my weight loss goals, as well as pushing me to do more when I got to what I thought would be my goal. It takes maybe a little getting used to. As far as feeling tired, it's pretty common for people to be fatigued from dehydration and mistake the feeling for hunger. I don't know how…

This is it.

What I've actually done, and I know I'm not the only one, is rather than naming the meals, I inserted time windows, like 6-10, 10-2, etc. It's helped me quite a bit, because I can look at the times and say, oh boy I've eaten enough for this four hours, I can wait until 2:00.

Just in my toes for me. I don't know, I figured it was normal.

I have the Implanon. I went back to the doctor in May because of the bleeding, and she put my on the pill for a month hoping that would even things out. It worked for that month and about three weeks after, but since then I've just gone back to bleeding everyday. Until now. I guess it might seem silly, but I have a camping…
