Buy it at Kohls along with a pair of socks. You'll get $20 cashback. Justify buying your Fitbit because after the cashback you're only spending $79 and not $99.

Love my FitBit! I knew I wasn't very active but until I started using a FitBit I had no idea how bad it really was. The first week I wore it I was barely hitting 4000 steps per day and would be winded just walking from my desk to the parking lot. Now I refuse to end my day until I hit at least 10,000 (12,000 is my average)…

Thanks.... I'm having one of "those" weeks myself. When I get home tonight I'll force myself to go for a walk instead of heading for bed. I know I'll feel better. Thank you for the encouragement.

You have no right to push your wife to eat healthier but you have every right and responsibility to see that your daughter eats healthier. What she eats now will form her food opinion in later years. You might try taking the initiative at nights you eat at home and cook dinner for the family. Instead of pushing it as…

I like the idea of bringing a dish to share instead of bringing your own prepackaged meal. Another thing that works, drink a TON of water. So much water that you feel like you'll explode. I guarantee you'll eat less if your pants are already a little tight around the waist. Have fun!

Is swimming an option for you? I've got RA but thankfully it's not severe. My primary source of exercise is walking. When I first started I could hardly move and the mornings were pretty tough but now, after keeping at this every day for the last 2 1/2 months, my RA symptoms are so minor that they hardly cause any pain at…

Welcome! I've spent my share of time in Dispatch too so I know the lifestyle. It's hard in that environment to keep in shape because of the long hours, constant treats, stress and exhaustion. Time to find the time for yourself. The trick is, not to just stay motivated on your 4 off but also on your 4 on otherwise it'll…

I love wraps, thanks for starting this thread! My favorite quick, and easy wrap is - Laughing Cow Garden Vegetable, turkey and pickle slices.

You are amazing! Thanks for sharing, you're my new MFP Idol. :flowerforyou:

It's kind of a pain but try logging all those snacks BEFORE eating them. I find that most of what I typically snack on just isn't worth the calories. That being said, my total weakness is Clancy's Ranch Veggie Straws. I always find room in my calorie count to snack on a handful of those. ;)

You are an amazing daughter. I'm proud of you for your unselfishness and kindness. I work at a hospital. Monthly we host community events (for free) that include counseling, fitness, nutritional classes, testing, etc. Call around and see if similar things like that are available in your community. Even if she refuses to…

Just curious, how long have you two been married? I see your profile says you're inspired by "your boyfriend". Hopefully he was gentle with his words. Use your kids as an inspiration. You want them growing up in a happy, loving, and healthy home. Grab the kids and go for a walk. Or better yet, make the hubby go with and…

I guess I'm in the minority here too. I’ve got 3 kids; all are happy, healthy, intelligent, well-adjusted kids. (Although they can occasionally be sarcastic little s***-heads which I’m secretly pleased about.) They all have cell phones. The oldest got one at 16, middle got one at 13, youngest at 10. There is no drama, they…

I have the Fitbit One. Love it! Numerous Colleagues have the FitBits, some of us use the One and some the Flex. I don't see much of a difference when tracking steps but some minor differences are: Flex You can wear it even when showering Harder to forget since you're always wearing it One If you're a jewelry wearer like I…

Interesting thread. I'm 5'8 172ish Size 12 if I suck it in, Size 14 with a belt. I'm apple shaped, all belly, so my 12's are tight around the waist but my butt disappears in a 14.

That's awesome, good for you!!

Thank you. I'm not going to let it beat me.... New day starts tomorrow!

Thank you for your replies. This losing weight thing is new to me. I was once on the other side of the scale trying to gain weight. Funny how life catches up to you. I do log all of my food. MFP is connected to my Fitbit account. That constant 'in my face' accountability is driving me nuts but I know deep down it's what's…

You guys are awesome! Thanks for sharing all of these. I'm a beginner but I've already learned the importance of logging what you eat BEFORE you eat it. Totally deters me from splurging.

Wow, thanks for the support! I guess I'll stop beating myself up for it and just be patient. :)

I just started week 3. My first week I lost 4 pounds and was so psyched but my 2nd week I gained 1 back. My hopes were crushed (alright, maybe crushed is being dramatic, but certainly disappointed). I've now taken the time to really look at what I eat and even though my calorie consumption was down, my carb consumption was…
