  • I'm slipping... the past two days I have been very naughty on my calorie intake. I will have to say that I was told that I'm maintaining my weight by eating 2000 to 2500 cal's, yet not at my target 1450 cals a day. I slipped up. I need to read these encouragement entries....because I feel myself slipping into my old…

  • This is all good advice. I agree with everyone...they are sooooo right....If you put yourself on a strict "diet," you set yourself up for failure. It's a lifestyle change. You change the way you eat and exercise. You change the way you think about food. You analyze why you are running to the foods you do and find other…
  • I will have to say that the 1st week of healthy eating, the weight flew off. I speculate that most of it was water. I'm maintaining my health 1450 cal intake daily and as expected I am loosing about 2 pounds a week. :drinker: I've lost a total of 12.2 pounds since I've started. Yippee! Someone said at work that I'm…
  • Awesome! Way to go! :drinker:
  • Yes. I can totally relate. I feel bloated all over. I crave carbs like it's something going out of style, esp chocolate. I usually just feel like....  :indifferent: :ohwell:

  • You have to take into consideration that you might be working out. If you are, then these standard numbers aren't correct. I think too that this is just general...I don't know how it works if you are taller, bigger person....Your requirements may be different. I know I was told that 3500 cals is 1 pound of weight.…
  • Thanks you all! :flowerforyou:
  • Are you guys buying clothes? Do you have some of your skinny clothes left in your closet? I walked around Lane Bryant a couple of weeks ago, knowing I was going to be on a different kind of eating style the rest of my life and would be loosing weight...I could only bring myself to by a t-shirt that was on sale. I told the…
  • Yes, I agree! Great advice! :flowerforyou:
  • I was looking for something to wear. My jeans were dirty. Those black jeans I could never wear because I couldn't hold my stomach in enough were glaring at me from between the clothes around it. I locked eyes on it for a minute and thought....'ya know...I just wanna see...' I slipped them on and to my surprise!!! THEY FIT!…

  • This is the article. At the bottom is a website addy she can go to. There is tons of info on this website from Mayo Clinic. It's VERY interesting. Back to original article Weight loss: 6 strategies for success You probably know that hundreds of different fad diets, weight-loss programs and outright scams promise quick and…
  • Back to original article Weight loss: 6 strategies for success You probably know that hundreds of different fad diets, weight-loss programs and outright scams promise quick and easy weight loss. But the foundation of every successful weight-loss program still remains a healthy diet combined with exercise. You must make…
  • I had posted something here from Mayo Clinic. I'll see if I can find it again and repost it. It was copied and pasted directly from them. How's that for a ligitimit source?? It'll back you up. I heard the same thing. In fact, that's who is over my weight loss is Mayo Clinic physicians. They are saying the same thing…
  • Yup. I posted the same thing when I started my healthy eating patterns. I was BAD about eating sweets to deal with my emotions. When I didn't have the sweets anymore, I realized that I was never dealing with the problems...I would eat them away...to feel better and then not deal with the problems. So now...I have to deal…
  • Remember to always be honest. I went out on a blind date and lied about my weight once. I got what I deserved. I have a friend who tells guys the truth and doesn't have any probs. If he doesn't like you because you have some extra pounds, then he's not worth it. To me a person like that is superficial. What's important…

  • BINGO......What he said. :flowerforyou:
  • I'm still working on this. I know for weight loss, you need to combine cal and fat intake. I'm still working on the fat part. I haven't been paying 100% attention to it, but yet, I have still been loosing weight.
  • 1) Who inspires you the most and why? 2) Who has been the most supportive of your healthy endevours? 3) When you are stressed out, what do you do? 4) Why have you started these new healthy habits? (what brought you to the realization that you needed to do SOMETHING, or else...:explode: ).
