I guess there are badges now. It says: It may as well say, “Struggling with weight since the dawn of time, yet still alive, kicking and fighting” :D it should be an image of a trophy… a rhinestone walker or dinosaur in a bikini. :D

  • I am just going to hop on here and put out my Tuesday Goal and Wed Wish, since I couldn't yesterday... Super busy day! I will do some personal responses tonight after my walk. I have a lot of catching up to do! Tuesday Goals: I walked 11 miles last week, 10 miles the week before... This week, I think I will try for 12.…
  • I'm in!!! I love a good challenge! 49 miles in 7 weeks.. that averages 7 miles a week for me. I start school on the 24th, or I would give a longer distance goal.
  • Fabulously done!!!! You are a rock star :)
  • I was about 270 for a long time, though I bounced up and down around that weight. When I got to 238 (over a long time, just making healthier choices, but hardly any fruits and veggies or exercise), I did feel better about dropping sizes, but I was still worn down and in a ton of pain.... SO, I recommitted and started…
  • Welcome CJ - you have found the most wonderfully supportive group of folks on the internet. Just check out page 1, with the guidelines and suggestions, and hop right in. (I am sure that hopping burns calories)
  • I know what you mean about smelling different... most perfumes are a little different on different people, but this one is especially different. It smelled more powder like on my grandmother... more musky on me, I think.
  • My grandmother wore Shalimar... My mother wears it.... I wear it. I have never found another that I liked as well as Shalimar. I can't explain the scent... I guess for me, it smells like comfort.
  • Thanks Christine! I will be curious to know how it works. I have a friend on here that spends a little bit more money and gets "single shots" of the Bragg's vinegar, which are mixed in fruit juice. She said it isn't nearly as awful. I am tempted to try maybe mixing it in fruit juice. Since my sister has it, it isn't like I…
  • Thanks Kelley! It feels really good. It has been so long since I felt so motivated to change my habits. It has been really great for my son as well. When they say that children learn what they live, it is SO true. Great advice on stretching the IT band... I had never hear of it before. I googled it and it makes sense too…
  • Checking in! BOTH my son and I are sick today  .... I could blame it on the carrot cake cupcake with cream cheese frosting that we had yesterday, but I am pretty sure it was some questionable greek yogurt that we had with our tacos last night. I guess when your teenage son says, "Mom, is this still good?", you should…
  • I got that one a couple of weeks ago... picture of a very very very thin stomach, was the profile pic then. I no longer feel guilty hitting "ignore" with those. I think the site has rules about marketing like that? I do have a couple of shakeology pals on here, but they are completely non-pushy, and turned out to be…
  • @Andrea - Stay strong and remember to take care of yourself first, so you can be there for others. As far as your new director - I have so many bad words I want to say! But what can you do except sell her on your position, right? Ugh. Good luck. You have many challenges right now, and I know you can push through them and…
  • Is seltzer the same thing as "tonic"? I know when I buy it in the store, I ask for soda water, but when I order in a bar, it's tonic. (We are in the Pacific NorthWest, near Seattle, WA)
  • First, I am sorry... I have to brag because I haven't done this in I don't know how long. 3.85 miles today... I am so tired and sore, but I DID IT! THANKS! I may join after I've figured it out! Great job meeting your goals!!! - edited to add- Just checked out www.livefitrevolution.org ... very cool site!!! Thank…
  • Kelley and jtconst, you make me blush :blushing: Thank you for your kind words. jtconst - Gloworm had posted something about a kettleball workout.. I have seen them, but never tried it. I need to start some type of strength training, and that may be something I can do at home. They look funny - did you check out the link…
  • Great job with the rollover Skinnyjeanz! Saturday success- - - hmmm I walked over 10 miles in the last week, which as many of you know, is a pretty big deal for me since I have this evil hip that likes to hold me back. Discovery park (which I spoke of previously) was part of that... tons of great hills that I actually made…
  • I've thought about kettlebells Gloworm... do you have a program you use, or just do lifting with them?
  • I HATE spiders!!!! :noway: It seems like they are especially bad this year... maybe because we had a late summer here. I would've slept in the car too... and likely my day would've been filled with chocolate, ice cream, chocolate, more ice cream... and any other sweet comfort food I could find  I hope they are gone…
  • Friday fitness - I have walked over 10 miles this week!!!! Who the heck am I??? I challenged myself to walk everyday for a week, and I did it!!! Now to build up speed.... I will check in later, and respond to a few things that caught my eye.... I am at work, to be honest, and likely should be doing, well, work.…
  • Thanks for sharing Kelley - Yah, I'm thinking that I will (after today's lunch, as that is all I brought) skip the other bread products. I will at least try this for a week, and see how I feel. It will be interesting to see if that is the cause of my discomfort. I have always had the nagging thought in the back of my head…
  • Thank you everyone for your feedback on the classes! I think I will go for it! I won't know if I don't try, right? My Math class is self paced (Arithmetic and Pre-Algebra (yes, I am Math challenged)) and English 101 is the online class... which I am confident about. @Tina - Fiber fiber fiber! Lots of fresh fruits and…
  • @skinnyjeanz - Have fun on your trip!!! @Bohemian - Thank you for your thoughts on the gym... I think you are right. My kiddo will be the perfect gym companion. He knows all about my weirdo ways and insecurities. I should just go with that  Wednesday wish - I wish my inner lioness would come out ALL the time. I am…
  • AMAZING! You look fabulous!!!
  • Laurie I am so sorry about your kitty. ~hugs~ for you. You and your kitty are in my prayers :brokenheart:
  • You will be missed!!! Speedy recovery! Sending warm healing thoughts and prayers. :flowerforyou:
  • I have started taking enzymes and a probiotic, as I was starting to get really bloated and (sorry for tmi) gassy, with all of the new foods in my diet. I was told that it had to do with the need / lack of proper digestion. I am glad I started- after a week, I am more um "regular" and feeling a lot more energy. Remember…
  • Tuesday Goals: SEPTEMBER GOALS: 1. BACK TO THE FUTURE: Stay consistent even when out with friends.- I blew this one on Sunday, when I went to shoot darts with friends at a bar. They ordered a bunch of bar food- which I only sampled. I remember telling my friend about the "zucchini sticks" on the menu, "Just because it has…
  • Checking in - I am doing pretty good. I feel strong and mostly healthy. I walked over 5 miles in total this weekend, and am getting ready to walk at least one more - That is an amazing thing for me. I did have a few beers last night, and a small sampling of the various bar dips and junk, but was not too far over on…
  • @MyM0wM0w & Skinnyjeanz - Way to go with the boots :) That is a terrific NSV and I am so happy for you! @jtconst - Excellent on the smaller size of jeans! YAY (and I love Lane Bryant). I am really excited for you and your goal of Snoqualmie Falls!!! I have NEVER walked down, for fear of not being able to get back up. I am…
