Gosh, a stone in five weeks! I have had a look and done the 'ideal target weight' calculator and it seems i'd only need to be on 'Attack' for four days so i think i'll give it a try! Do you count calories while you do it and log it on MFP?

I dont have a car either, i managed to find one i can walk to. its about fifteen mins and costs £7.00....30 is way expensive!!

A lot of the websites i've looked at are out of stock and amazon (and ebay!) seem pretty epxensive in comparison!

I have a cross trainer (bought second hand from someone on this site actually!), a resistance band, a medicine ball and some hand/ankle weights. That coupled with the option of running outside or going swimming at a local pool for a lot less money than a gym membership appealed to me. Personally, i dont drive and wouldn't…

I live with someone who controls her arthritis without medication so i will try and list the things she doesn't eat (as that is easier than the things she does.) it may look extreme but i guess it is better than being in a restcricting amount of pain. She doesn't take any medication and manages extremely well. She has…

I make mine the night before and generally have a mix of the following to make a sort of salad lunch pack that i eat cold and with minimal fuss: Spinach, smoked salmon, (cold) sausages, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, radish, celery, onion and other salady items, potatoes (boiled or jacket, both are good cold), tuna with light…

@ChrisDavey: i have mentioned i used MFP, one of them has it on her iphone so at least they know i they are interested further down the line. There are just so any different thoughts on eating. I live with a nutritionist and was discussing protein and carbs with her last. In her opinion, you should eat them seperately as…

Thats a really interesting way of eating, i had never until recently thought too much about the carb vs protein balance type thing and the energy it provides. Did you work out your preferred eating methods via trial and error with your diet?
-
Thank you. To me, that seems to be all they eat hence my bemusement at the 'diet'. As for the vilifying them for what they eat, i dont think i am. I was just trying to discuss a topic. Besides, they have also turned their noses up at my food and told me i cant possibly be really eating that, why would i want to eat that…

I understand that and i would never be rude about it, i would be ashamed of myself if people thought i was but the words calories, health and vitamins being bandied around during lunchtime were being used to discuss the healthiness of their lunch. I just didn't really understand, especially when i was asked about my salad…

Man i wish this was true, the penny sweet section in the shopws would be destroyed!

I don't think there is anything wholegrain or low fat in their meals. I was just relatively surprised. I suppose i've been lucky and have always had vegetables and fruit available at meals when i wwas with my parents and since i've moved out.

Cinnamon! or salt and pepper! Parmesan (i used the stuff you can buy in a tub ready grated from the herby aisle in the supermarket, not exactly legit italian!) cayenne pepper, chocolate drops and raisins mixed in like a trail mix.... all sorts! :)

I work out every day but i am not doing it for hours! I couldnt cope with 3 BIG sessions, i have an incredibly short attention span and just wouldnt do it. I do about 30mins on the elliptical every morning (or if im busy try to fast walk 45 mins in the evening) and also try to do about 10-15mins of pushups or sit ups or…

I make Raita with it - mint and chopped cucumber and have it with curries :) Or i put apple sauce in and pretend im having dessert!

I'm a 12 on top and a 14 on the bottom. Ialso have size 12pants and size 16 ones (i was upset about that, never wanted to buy that size again!) so i guess it varies. I'm 5"11 so i feel HUGE but am only one size bigger than my little sister who is much slimmer and more toned and about two inches shorter so i guess i just…

I'm 5"11 and started at 198lbs and am now 171 (started MFP at 188). I would like to be 160lbs but am ina bit of a plateau at the moment so would be grateful to reach 165lbs! my BMI is 23.7 or something so its more of a vanity thing now than anything else. I have quite a curvy frame and am only one dress size bigger than my…

You have done such an amazing job! Don't let anyone stand in your way of where you want to be, i know you can do it!
-
Thank you everyone for all your sensible advice, i am waiting to see my doctor but there is a looong wait and im just fed up! Thanks again, i'm already planning more protein and fiber rich meals!

That doesnt sound likemuch fun, appendix inflammation is meant to be so sore! If you're missing bits or have scar tissue then there will be different foods (and the amount you chew them!) which will upset your guts which may be worth avoiding or just experimenting with to see if it helps you! I just dont have a large one at…
-
No,i mean i DON'T have one at all. It had to be taken out!
-
I didnt think about that, i presume i do because i manage to put weight on very easily which is why i think being aso hungry all the time upsets me!
