Same in France, just make it yourself! EDIT: (Both, the almond butter and the peanut butter. Procedure is the same: dump pack of nuts into food processor. Process for 5 minutes.)

Ya, and then I read this "Nutella contains 67% saturated fat and processed sugar by weight." on Wiki and can never feel the same about it, even if I'm trying to act all relaxed and laissez-faire.

Oh, don't worry, I know you weren't dissing peanuts, I'm just saying that if you make your own from peanuts, PB = peanuts. :)

As I mentioned on the other concurrent PB thread (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/991009-peanut-butter), you can just make your own by food processing raw peanuts. Goodbye to any ingredient worries from the store-bought varieties that do indeed contains loads of questionable and unnecessary crap. This reduces your…

+1 I always wondered what I should do with the fibre, seemed like such a waste as it's perfectly edible (and seeing as I'm always obsessed with getting my 30g of fibre a day)! Thanks for that!

Lol, the problem isn't the "fake" part, it's the "cheese" part. :P

Have a blender at home? Soak a cup of almonds in a bowl of water overnight. Rinse them off in the morning, throw them in the blender with 3-4 cups of water and blend for a few minutes. The next part is the only slight hassle of this: strain. Most blogs seem to suggest a cheese cloth or a "nut bag" (yeah, that's actually…

Sigh, "if there is one near you". :( Damn you people with your Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. *jealous*. I have yet to find a shop in Paris that even comes close to being as awesome as I imagine those to be.

2 cups will make a small jar.

Lol. In case you missed above, your second food processor run should definitely be hummus. Can of garbanzo beans/chick peas, 3 cloves of garlic (modify depending on your love of garlicky hummus), tablespoon of the bean water. Squirt of lemon, or not (can be quite tangy with, I prefer without). ^ EDIT: Oops, that is my…

Haha. I don't think rapeseed oil is bad in itself. I believe canola, which you probably have heard of, was developed from it. It's actually a pretty yummy veggie in itself. The problem is that it's totally unnecessary to the peanut butter, but probably lubricates it to get to completely industrially consistent and…

Btw, I threw a handful of hazelnuts into mine for kicks, as a "Take that, Nutella!" I can't say I put enough to taste them, but they didn't ruin the PB taste or texture either. I plan on attempting pure hazelnut and almond butter next when I've finished the last of the PB. Horribly OT: Speaking of foods that are…

I have, and it's f'n delicious (in a good way!). Seriously takes you about 10 mins, if you have to shell the peanuts. If you've got a food processor (one cannot live without, really), what've you got to lose? Give it a go! :D I found this out by googling, actually, after I discovered that my beloved Skippy (the only brand…

Even better, make your own! Throw 4 cups of raw unsalted peanuts into a food processor and let it process for about 5 minutes. It may go through a doughy phase at first, but keep it going and it turns into butter. Tada! Also works on almonds, hazelnuts, etc. OT EDIT: Ingredients of the pb pictured in the OP contains:…
