great stories! My profile picture is also the key that made me realise I was overweight. If you look at the picture on the left of my avi, I am drinking in a club. The girls take loads of pictures all night, you wake up hungover, and you look at last nights clubbing pics.. Well I woke up, looked at pics, and saw that…

oh wow! amazing the different scenarios in which people suddenly realised! keep em coming

meal timings/frequencys have no effect on weight loss.. they will simply dictate how much you weigh at certain points of the day. there are so many factors effecting what the scales actually say, but as far as loosing actual fat there is only one thing that will effect that.. a calorie deficit. The only way to achieve a…

Heya It is perfectly healthy that you lost 4 pounds in the first week and then slowed down. The first week of weight loss will always be the highest for the following reasons: Your glycogen levels will not be as high Your sodium intake has likely dropped and in turn you have lost a lot of water weight on the first week. Of…

First thing.. a calorie deficit works for everyone, if you are not loosing weight you are NOT in a calorie deficit.. no two ways about it. Now here are the things you could be doing wrong: Monitoring daily or weekly fluctuations and taking them to heart rather than following the longer term trend. Not weighting all of your…

dont waist precious gym time on cardio if you are already getting your deficit through eating less, spend it doing a full body weight lifting program, 5x5 is good, great at keeping your muscle mass and burns a decent number of calories aswell. traditional cardio wont help yousustain any LBM and your gonna end up pretty…
-
everyone has to find their own path, but here goes: Do a 5x5 full body workout program 3 times a week Eat -20% TDEE everyday Have 1-1.5 of protein per pound of your bodyweight a day Drink water Sleep well Do exactly the above everyday without fail or falter and it is guaranteed you will loose weight and loose weight in a…

meal timings dont effect weight loss. eat all ur calories in 1 hour, eat all your calories in 20 hours, makes no difference. eat them before bed, eat them during bed, no difference. Only difference will be glycogen fluctuations and how much you weight at what times of the day, but weight fluctuations are not representative…

carbs and coffee.. stuff of legends. I usually get some pasta or brown rice in, followed by a mint choc protein shake with 2 spooons of coffee. Gets me pumped as fuark for the gym
-
I use matrix anabolic shakes with milk twice a day, they make me full as hell. So personally I would say yes, they are good at satiety. I was personally feeling fuller on those than I was on slimfast shakes (I used to be a massive noob and actually drink that chit in my younger days). Count your drinking calories as normal…

MFP is really bad at setting goals, they get macro nutrients completely wrong and are misleading for inexperianced people who dont know any better. Calorie goals MFP are silly and the fact that the majority of people set the "2 pound a week" weight loss goal, this is far below -20%TDEE and is not optimal for maintaining…

ur going to do the following things on your current diet/routine: Loose a substantial amount of muscle mass Potentially stunt growth Become a skinny fat person who still has squishy flabby areas despite loosing tons of weight Be forced to eat lower and lower calories as your muscle mass decreases, meaning the day you…

hahaha yep I got that. off to the misc i go

here i am! lets do this! :D
-
ahh fair nuff :D Probably the best reasoning I have ever heard for cardio
-
Benefits of cardio- Cardio fitness, burn calories Benefits of weights- Cardio fitness, burn calories, build/maintain muscles mass, sculpt body, increase caloric/maintain caloric requirements, increase strength wheres the arguement again?

I thoroughly enjoy kickboxing. I'd hardly consider it "nightmarish." Beer was simply a funny example...but if I can literally enjoy an entire extra meal because I burned off 500 calories with my workout, THAT makes it worth it in addition to my improved endurance, flexibility, and CV health. [/quote] Then this is simply a…
-
Yes I did say this earlier in the thread.. someone said I would keep over of a heart attack through doing no CV fitness. I then said that they were arrogant for believing Cardio is the only means of building CV fitness as full compound workouts may not be AS CV intensive but still gives you a decent CV fitness. Go back in…

I know you now feel the need to insult me and pick up on spelling errors because you cant intelligently counter my points, so thats fine. But you can either make some valid points AGAINST the points I am making, and I will do my best to either counter your points or not. If I cant then I will admit that there are some…

And most women have such low deficits (unless they are 4-5 foot tall) because they ran themselves into oblivion, slashed calories in half, have no muscle and can only loose weight on 1200 calories. Remembering muscles burns 20-30 calories per pound and fat only burns 5 calories a day to maintain. If these women stopped the…

And implying your heart doesnt get pumping on full body workouts? Yes I think you will find I mentioned that cardio will give increased CV fitness, but the fact you think that cardio is required to maintain a healthy heart, shows an arrogance that has probably lead you to wasting 20 years of your life running. Going for…
-
as for CV health, yes carido is best, but my 90 minute full body compound workout is more than a healthy CV workout that I wont suddenly "keel over" from a heart attack. With my diet and my workout (even without the cardio) there aint no chance I am going down to a lifestyle based heart attack
-
Nutrition- you can get more than enough nutrition in ANY healthy calorie deficit. Foods you list- Weight lifting only lags slightly behind on calories than cardio, but ok.. valid point.. do cardio if you really feel busting some sweaty nuts in the gym for an hour just so you can have 2 cans of beer.. no logic there to me…
-
Your utterly waisting your time.. Unless you are looking to compete in some cardio vascular activity, why de fuark are you doing that much cardio? If you say weight loss I will have to kill myself.. The fact you said "because I have a layer of fat to get rid of".. I guess I have to kill myself You dont need to take a…

Noone plateus for 12 months.. you were just eating maintenance calories or above.. Impossible to plateu for 12 months on a deficit..
-
2 points to be made here 1. You will never go into starvation mode, your concept of what that is is, is a distorted myth. 2. Eat the same calories every day with your workout factored in. So take your cardio and weight lifting into consideration and up your calories accordingly. Do not just eat more on gym days as this…

Accuracy is key, review just how accurate are being with weighting food and counting calories. Secondly, review your calories, it may be time to go to a lower deficit. Thirdly, if both points above are in check then you may want to try either a new workout or a new eating pattern, I have known people to break plateus with…
