Touche! :drinker: For me, it is a number of things. I have always been the "tall, chunky girl" in the family, I've never been lean and I've never felt that spectacular about my body. My sister and mom and I are all close, and the two of them are shorter and have always been thin. My motivation comes from them -- being able…

In my experience, I'd say pushing yourself when you're in pain is not a good way to go; you could essentially risk further injury, making your workout routine worse (not being able to do Insanity for more than just a day, for example). Your muscles need time to repair themselves! Just my two cents. :)

I'm 5'9" and three quarters(!), I would normally fluctuate around 165-175 lbs. Goal weight is 150-145. I've never been 145, but I was 150 lbs. once and lost it by starving myself back when I was a teen and was just skin and bones with some flab (gross). Currently I'm hovering around a size 30/31 in jeans, I'd love to be a…

This! I too have shin splints and waiting to pay for my orthotics. I run 5K every other day, start off really slow, and the slower I go at the beginning of my run, the LESS pain I get in my shins and the more stamina/faster I can run. It's all about easing your body into it. I have minimal pain this way. But definitely get…

I eat plenty of protein, I have my share of carbs and I eat lots of fruits and veggies. There's the odd day where I find myself not eating the proper amount of protein, but that's really it. It's just strange that this is happening a month in.

Thanks for your advice. I read on other forums it has something to do with lack of protein/water? I don't do any resistance exercises to strengthen my leg muscles, perhaps this is also why?

I'm 5'9" and three quarters, I'm 23 and I currently weigh about 168, also trying to lose 20 lbs. If I reach 145 lbs., I'd be laughing! A lot of people don't see my weight as an issue, but I am just at that point where I've been this way my whole life and I feel so uncomfortable, and starting to realize how important my…

The best song for running is "Fighter" by Christina Aguilera. Too bad it's only a 3-4 minute song though. :(

Thank you so much for posting your story, and the progress you went through to get where you are. I know what it's like feeling like the "fat ugly girl", and your story really touched me today. I'm not going to give up. Thank you so much for helping to keep me motivated. You look AMAZING.

I would say on average I'm eating approx. 2,000 cal/day.

I haven't really been adding my diet to my diary, just been inputting my exercises. I always end up too busy having to put it all in there, or I just forget. :( Yes, I would say 170 lb. is not overweight for my height, but you know you need to lose weight when you start becoming uncomfortable with your body? I'm at that…
