I think at the beginning of your journey, all the changes you have to make can be overwhelming and I know that's where I've failed in the past. This time I'm taking little steps. I try to stay within my deficit and will allow myself a little bad-food-break here and there so long as it stays within my deficit. You've…

When you select "Lightly Active" it works out your deficit based on you doing some exercise already. Did you select this because of your walking that you do? If so, you may not want to add your walking to your diary.

OP - to your original post, I am the overweight daughter and have been since I was 8. I feel incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful mother who has only ever supported me in all my endeavours. Her approach to my weight was one of those suggested by multiple posts already. She left me to it. She trusted me to make my own…

You don't need to quit the website. Just stay off the Community section if you can't handle objections to your diet plans.

Have you re-adjusted your calorie deficit for your new lower body weight?
-
I personally set my activity to Sedentary as this accounts for the days (weekends) I spend lounging around and then I can add my walk to work during the week as an additional exercise. If 1,200 calories a day feels too little for you at the moment, you could always set your goal to be less aggressive than 2lbs a week while…

Yay! Congratulations :drinker: :flowerforyou:

I'd love to see more success pictures on here, commenting to keep track! I have such a huge belly overhang despite not having kids either. I'm hoping being young will help me but I know that I'd rather be healthy and a bit loose skinned, than fat and a filled sausage.

I don't know that it's possible to lose 12 pounds of fat in 3 days. More likely you have either a faulty scale or you've lost a lot of water weight. I'd say it's going to be at least a couple of weeks before you start noticing yourself losing fat or feel smaller.
-
If it's just in the last 3 days, could it be nearing your time of the month? I know I feel absolutely RAVENOUS the week before and try to quell the feelings with litres of water (to no avail!)
-
Definitely agree with the previous comments about a gentler start. I'm 5ft 7 so my 2lb loss a week calories at a sedentary level is set to 1,660. I would have felt very discouraged trying to hit 1,200 in the beginning. It's a big adjustment!

A lot of your measurements for food are in cups. You might try using a digital scale instead as this is far more accurate.

I don't go to the gym (too expensive) or work-out at home at the moment because I'm just too lazy. I'm walking to work which at my size burns 200+ calories right now. However, once I have the right motivation I will bust out the exercise DVDs and get to it. That's really all I'm lacking - motivation!
-
Have patience - weight loss isn't linear. If you're logging everything accurately and eating at a deficit you will get there eventually. Look how much you've lost already! Just keep going :-)

^ Enough said. A lot of blank days in your diary, and when you do log, you almost always go over your grams of fat allowance.
-
You're going to have to open your diary before anyone can really help you.

It's hard to fit exercise in during working hours but it's not impossible to find time when you've got the right motivation! If the gym is too far away (or in my case, too expensive!) find a way to get your exercise in other ways. For instance, I walk to work. It's 20 minutes each way but that's 40 minutes of walking that…

That tea is still 15-30 calories depending on how much milk you like and the size of the cup. I'd recommend logging tea just to see what effect that has. I can get near 100 calories a day on tea with semi-skimmed milk.

What are you hoping to acheive, OP?

Dance :-)

I don't have any advice but I can totally sympathise! My scales give me a different weight depending on which floor they're on (tiles vs carpet). To save the upset, stick to the one scale and if it's digital get some fresh batteries just in case :-)

We have similar stats so I'm definitely in! I need some help staying motivated - I was so into this for the first few weeks but I feel like I'm flagging now. Age: 22 year old female Height: 5ft 7 Start Weight: 297 Current Weight: 294 Goal Weight: 260 (Ultimate Goal Weight: 160) Feel free to add me, anyone. I need support…

The packet of my steam vegetables said 160g and I had a good chunk of fish with it. It didn't quite feel heavy enough when I boxed it up for lunch so I put it on the scale out of curiosity and the whole thing (fish, vegetables and tupperware) was 190g. Somehow I don't think I'm getting the vegetable quantity as advertised.…

I definitely feel guilty this morning! After a messy night out with work on Friday, I ordered a massive Dominos and scoffed the whole lot in one sitting. I had been doing so well and everything!! I think the trick is not to write off the whole weekend because of one bad moment. In the past, I would have said to myself…
-
I'm only on week 2 of my diet so I've been weighing twice a week - especially since I've only just seen the scale move downwards this morning. I would have felt discouraged if I weighed myself everyday and saw no difference to begin with. Once I pass 6 weeks I'll start weighing myself more often.

It might be a good idea to try talking to him about this. He could be entirely clueless to how you're feeling and if you aren't communicating with him then how is he supposed to know he's doing anything wrong? Otherwise, it doesn't sound like he puts your needs first. Everything from the way he seems hurt when you see your…
