But - but... Patio season *points to sunshine outside* lol

First, you look awesome! Congrats. Second, your shirt. I must have it haha

I call bro-science. I have yet to hear about this "new diet" on Dr. Oz and therefore I reject it and shall go back to my pink dumbells and raspberry ketones in peace.

In for later

Mmm, saving this one! Looks super tasty!

A nice broad chest makes me swoon for sure :blushing:

Exactly as stated by brianpperkins. I also noticed comments are closed on the blog post (lots of hokey blogs do this so that people can't openly refute the info they post. Also looks like they're selling their own workout dvds. Willing to bet they're bashing these exercises so that people will buy their stuff instead.

Is this nutritional info you were looking up from the MFP database, or from Olive Garden's nutritional info sheets? If it's from MFP I'd keep in mind that there are going to be about a million different nutritional info pages for each food item (just do a quick search for "banana" to see what I mean lol) and not all of…

While each of these is fairly unhealthy on their own, I definitely wouldn't advise doing all of them combined. My boyfriend used to do Judo competitively and they would use these methods to make before-fight weigh in (this is before they changed the rules re this). It was so bad that many fighters had to be nearly carried…

I think this might have some of the answers you're looking for in terms of daily caloric needs. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/6556-the-answers-to-the-questions?page=1 And when it comes to exercise I might play it slow for the next little bit until your eating is back on track.

I've been on Alesse for the past 7 or 8 years and it's seemed to agree with my body well. I used to get intense pain and bloating and that's mostly gone now.
-
I just checked out your food log diary. Not sure if you've actually been using that as a reference, but I can see that it's given you a daily calorie goal of 1,230. That's entirely too low if you've honestly been working out at a fair intensity for 1.5-2hrs on a regular basis. You'll want to up that for starters. But I…

Firstly, yay for you! The first step is often the hardest (especially when it means leaving a cozy bed). The early morning hours really are amazing though for workouts. Nice and quiet and not many people out on the streets yet. I second the banana and water. It sits nicely in the stomach without causing too many issues…
-
I wholeheartedly second this! And I also have to ask, do you follow any specific program (eg. Strong Lifts) or is this something you've achieved through a combo of different things. Just asking because I would love to be that strong

^This. This is perfect lol. Not the main reason I've started to get into weights, but I think it's a nice side benefit. And to OP, I wouldn't spare too much thought into it. She's likely just jealous that her body doesn't look as good as yours.

Thanks so much for the explanations everyone. I'll be sure to take my HRM results with a grain of salt from now on lol
-
But if this is true than what good is a heart rate monitor? I was under the assumption that a HRM would give me a more accurate picture of what I was burning.
-
I didn't re-wet the strap but I was working out at a pretty serious intensity for myself so the band was soaked in sweat and I didn't take it off between exercises.
-
This sounds absolutely heavenly! Definitely adding to my list of recipes to try :)

If you're looking for something catchy and also a bit motivational I like both "Hall of Fame" - The Script and "Anything" - Hedley

Thank you for all the advice everyone :) I think I'll follow the alternating plan. I'm sure there's a thread on here for it that I've haven't come across, but would anyone be able to point me in the direction of tips posted for women newly beginning weights?
-
Lol well I might be an exception to that. I definitely care about how much I'd be able to lift. That's why I'm hesitant to do cardio on lifting days. I'm not just in it for calorie burn. I've seen in a few threads the difference between just burning calories and the definition that you get from lifting and I'm all about…
-
I have seen quite a few different posts that suggest any serious cardio before you lift will wear out your muscles so that when you lift the weights you'll already be pretty tired and won't be able to get as much weight as you would have if you hadn't done the cardio. Although that could be hogwash for all I know lol.…

I was worried about the same thing too when I first started with the weights, but I was way wrong to be. At first I freaked out because I thought I was gaining weight because my clothes were a bit tighter, but I continued on with the program and the (mostly lol) healthy eating and was very happy with what I saw. I'd give…

I just started C25K today as well! Hmm, it could be the shoes since they're new and may take some breaking in before your feet get accustomed to them. My best guess is that it's probably just your body's reaction to running. Mine did the same thing when I started getting into running but as you get stronger that usually…

Thanks everybody! I've been wondering the exact same and I think this just confirmed it. Not sure how to correct my form though. The way I run feels natural to me so not sure how to change it. And it's not necessarily the breathing that hurts pandabear_, it's more the fact that when I breathe in deeply when I'm running it…

I have the same problem. As a 30 DD it felt almost impossible to find a bra that kept all the bits from moving around. But I ended up with the Under Armour bra top and absolutely looooove it! So comfortable that I even picked up a second so that I can always have one ready for workouts. I included a link below for…

Walking in the front door to my dog's happy little face. Nothing like a cuddle with a friend who's always happy to see you after a long day.

Ignoring the sarcasm, I'll provide a link from the Harvard health blog. http://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/5-steps-for-preventing-kidney-stones-201310046721 "Limit animal protein: Eating too much animal protein, such as red meat, poultry, eggs, and seafood, boosts the level of uric acid and could lead to kidney stones.
