  • Oh thanks for the advice! I totally missed the groups section.
  • I'm 6'0" and have lost 36 pounds. I've dropped 4 sizes.
  • I'm a 36C and luckily I haven't lost weight in my breasts. They actually look bigger because the rest of me is shrinking. Wooo!
  • I'm 6'0" and 196 lbs. I currently wear a size 10 in pants and a size medium or large in shirts. I'd like to get down to 160 - guessing from my mother's stature (we're built the same, except she's thinner), I'd assume around a size 6 and a small or medium in shirts will be where I'm at once I hit my goal. Maybe even tinier…
  • I would, but I'm very stable now and it took me a year of different combinations of medications to get to this stage. Basically I'm afraid a change of medication will allow me to slip into an episode again, which I don't want. Thank you for the advice though! I suppose I'll just live with the ravenous appetite. I'm on…
  • Lots and lots of cardio has helped me. I'm also on Metformin, 1500 MG XR. I saw a nutritionist and she taught me to eat better (I needed the shove) and since then I've lost around 35 pounds so far. I'm working on another 35 or so now. However, everything I learned from the nutritionist, you can surely gather from books and…
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy has done wonders for me, personally. You don't have to go in there with a "problem" per se, you just learn a lot of skills that you might not have had previously. It's great for borderline personalities, people with bipolar and PTSD, and a number of other mental dysfunctions, but you have to…
  • Have you heard of dialectical behavioral therapy? I'm currently in it myself for my bipolar symptoms, which include anxiety. You might want to look into it, or regular therapy? Remember it's totally okay to have anxiety, but don't let it control your life. You have control over your life, your anxiety doesn't.
  • I'm also pre-diabetic and I can eat fruit or yogurts without having a giant blood sugar spike. I thought fruit was "good sugar"? http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fitness/food/what-can-i-eat/fruits.html
  • Fruit, yogurt, mini bagels or flats (not as many carbs), protein shakes, smoothies, lean meat...
  • I feel you. I had a family party yesterday and it was catered. Plus they were passing around little appetizers, so naturally I had to eat one off of every single tray that passed by me. I'm feeling horribly fat today, but have no motivation to workout either. That wasn't very motivational. How about this? GO TEAM GO!
  • I have bipolar disorder, which made me more susceptible to binge drinking in college, and boy did I binge drink! I put on a good 50 pounds in college (talk about the "freshman 15") and I chalk up most of the weight gain to alcohol consumption since I was leading a pretty healthy lifestyle otherwise. I would say alcohol is…
  • I'm 6'0" and currently weigh 196 - I wear a size 10. I'd like to get down to 160 and around a size 6. I have a small frame for a tall girl. Oh and I carry most of my weight around the middle - total bummer.
  • This makes a lot more sense, thank you!
  • Thank you for your advice! I guess toning would probably work a lot better for me than focusing on completely losing the weight huh?
  • I decided 160 because it falls right in the middle of 144-176, which are the ideal weights for me (have heard this from doctors, journals, websites, charts, etc.) I figure at 144 I'd probably look like a skeleton, but at 176 I'd definitely look heavier because I've been that weight before. Around 160, maybe even 155 seems…
