You've got the right attitude Andi, take it steady one lb at a time. Is there anyway you can move? 4 years is a long time to be somewhere you hate! I lived in an awful area for 18 months and know how negative it can make you feel. Look after yourself and take it one day at a time! Good luck!

I need to introduce a stricter exercise regime! when I was younger I could just cut out snacking, walk 10k steps a day and the weight would steadily drop off.... That doesn't happen now. I'm going to have to work hard to drop this 20lb!!

Whilst I appreciate your advice I think that perhaps you misunderstood my wording - by saying that I have no willpower I was reaching out for advice and support which I don't think you are willing to give. If the OP has no will power and can't be determined enough to stick to what they plan for a day (as they admit) then planning for a week isn't going to help... ...without having the will-power to do so. Thank you all for the advice - I think it's true that I get overwhelmed so making one change at a time is the best way forward, I've always been an all or nothing person and I think that it would be easier for my body to cope with small changes rather than go from feast to famine! One Day at a Time is also a great mantra…
