  • I initially started out measuring my alcohol and ensuring it fit within my caloric intake. I could tell you exactly how many shots of gin (or tequila or whiskey) I could have to fit into my goals. But then, I realized I was foregoing food to allow more drinks to fit into my plan. Or, I would excercise simply to allow…

  • From what I've been able to read, find and discuss with a family of medical professionals...smoking can burn an extra 200 to 250 calories a day. Having failed this process many times in the past, I prepared myself as much as possible this time around. Although yes...losing that extra 200+ calories a day is a bit…
  • Relationship dynamics aside, the fact that your husband is an MD does not add any weight to his "opinion". While this study is from 2008, there has not actually been too much change in the industry regarding the education MD's receive regarding diet and nutrition. However, because he is an MD, he might deal better with…
  • I'm with you when it comes to disliking gyms. I "know" no one is watching or judging me, everyone is there for their own reasons...but that doesn't stop me from getting uncomfortable, second guessing myself or completing only half a workout before I run in fear. Some others mentioned different free online workouts, and…
  • As a person who recently developed an egg allergy, I'm just happy I'm an adult and can eat whatever the hell I want. But oh gah, I miss a good breakfast burrito.

  • Fitness Blender for a basic workout where I'm not tortured with horrible music and brightly colored backgrounds. Body Project never bores you and is actually not bad on the motivation. Bob Harper for those days when I want to feel the burn. PopSugar for those in between type days when I want to "hate it out". As a whole,…
  • Love a good sprouted bread. Alvarado St, has a nice one. Perfect for grilled cheese, peanut butter and jelly or a plain cold cut sandwich. Not too thin, not too thick.
  • Gin and Mineral Water with a lime is a favorite. Avoid Tonic water with its 23g of sugar per serving. I love a good Red Wine as well, but that's more a dinner drink for me. I agree with the majority above and say drink what you actually like. However, it sounds as if you don't even want to drink. If you don't want a drink…

  • I keep a cup of coffee or a 5hr by the bed. I set my first alarm for 10 to 15 minutes earlier than I want to be up. As soon as the first alarm goes off, I slam the coffee or have a sip (only a sip!) of the 5hr. One five hour will last a few days. I keep a bottle of water by the bed as well and drink 10 swallows of it.…
