What was your total burn for the day (via the Fitbit site)? That does seem a little high for that many steps, especially if you are set at lightly active already. I did look back at some of my records, and on a couple Sundays, my stats were 647 calorie credit for 12000 steps, and 575 for 13500 steps ... you can see that…

I love having a home gym ... you can get a glimpse of mine here http://jenbsjourney.blogspot.com/2013/07/j-gym.html Elliptical, treadmill, stationary bike, we do have a big weight set, but I mainly just use the bench and some dumbells. Leg press, calf machine. ...it's great having everything right there. I'll bop down to…

I'm actually similar ... I do an hour of elliptical pretty much every day. I've discovered Zumba and am loving that, doing it for an hour each morning. I'll also throw in a little treadmill, sometimes stationary bike as well. I also do a full body weight workout twice a week. For me, yes, I love the exercise and the…

It's possible ... I did it back in 2006. It was the first time I'd ever really tried to lose weight (I'd put it on over the years with marriage and having five babies). I think it was just a shock to my system that I was suddenly eating better and exercising. I kept it off for a few years, but it gradually crept back on. I…

I weigh in every morning. I have the Fitbit Aria scale, so my weight updates to MFP every day (I had to turn off notifications as of course it fluctuates a ton). I also linked it up to Trendweight.com, which has a lot of cool graphs. Friday is my "official" weigh-in day. Because the Aria syncs automatically, it actually…

I am a numbers freak ... I really WISH we could get an accurate accounting of burn (and calorie intake, even with weighing and measuring, which I am admittedly not good at) it all estimates. I'll write down the numbers from my HRM, my Fitbit and the machine readout. Sometimes I'll check in with an online calculator. At…

I've had mine for over four years and I still love it. Can't imagine not having my Fitbit feedback. I got my family hooked too ( a couple of my kids, my parents, brothers and their wives). I did a blog post about its features ... http://jenbsjourney.blogspot.com/2013/08/wondering-about-fitbit.html The Fitbit connects with…

Wow - that is low. How many steps are you getting? I started Zumba this year and was initially disappointed after hearing people say "Oh I burned 600+ calories in my hour class". I wear my Polar HRM and my Fitbit and always compare the stats. Sometimes they are close, sometimes they are over 100 calories apart. My Fitbit…

I'm rather surprised I haven't found one yet! I'll turn 44 this year ... wow, feeling old as I write that. I see plenty of my friends that have had to color. I have colored, but not for grey ...

That "prediction" is based on "if every day were like today" and honestly, how often are your days alike? I'll have a good day, then a bad day, then a medium day. Seriously, that bugged me so much I stopped "completing my day" just so I wouldn't have to see that anymore! I gather my weekly averages and look at that.…

I don't know that I really weighed myself in high school/college ... I think I was 135ish. I'm 150ish now. High was 180-200. I'd like to be 135, but I'm good with anything under 150. Just a couple pounds over that at present.

I have a Fitbit, have had it for about four years now. We're now a Fitbit family (two of my boys, my parents, brothers and their wives). I did a post about what you can expect from a Fitbit on my blog http://jenbsjourney.blogspot.com/2013/08/wondering-about-fitbit.html The setup isn't very hard. I do think hooking up with…

I have both ... they are different gadgets. If I had to choose just one, I personally would go with the Fitbit. It is just so much easier, put it on and wear it all day. The HRM is uncomfortable, I only wear it for certain workouts and I take it off right after. And I hope I remember to START it too, and that it doesn't…

I started Zumba this year. Originally just one time a week, but now three times a week. I really enjoy it. I wish I was seeing more results though :( I am NOT a dancer, and I do struggle with some of the steps/moves (just can't do anything with my hips). I wear my HRM and Fitbit and it's just an ok workout for me…

I am a Fitbit fan ... and we are a Fitbit family (two of my boys, my parents, brothers and their wives). I've had mine for four years now (the Ultra, now the One). The Fitbit is so great for showing you feedback on your entire day, not just your workouts. I have a HRM too, and I like it, but it's not the same as the…

Our carpet is shot (I have five boys) so I don't enforce a no shoe policy ... but ME? I never wear shoes unless I have to. I can't stand having anything on my feet. Even on my elliptical and stationary bike I don't wear shoes, I wear slippers :) http://jenbsjourney.blogspot.com/

I wear my Fitbit and my HRM ... sometimes they are close, other times they are over 100 calories off. My HRM does NOT seem very impressed with me. I don't know if I'm not working hard enough ... sometimes I don't feel it's up to me really, if I'm trying to follow the prescribed steps. I track all my numbers and post them…

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a Fitbit fan. I've had mine for about four years now and still love the feedback it provides. I keep a blog, and I talk about my Fitbit a lot! I did a general post detailing all you can expect if you get one, if that helps (lots of graphs)...…

I'm a Fitbit fan, I've had mine for four years now and can't imagine not having my Fitbit feedback. I have the One, as I don't care for something on my wrist (and I can see all the stats on the device itself, you can't do that with the Flex). My son has a Flex and likes it, although he wants to switch to a clip one now…

For me, it's not so much that I HATE healthy eating, I'm just really picky, I just can't make myself eat things I don't think I'll like ... and that is a ton of healthy stuff (it's actually a lot of unhealthy stuff too). It really is a struggle, but I do just try to do my best at eating what is healthier. I don't eliminate…

I spend quite a bit of time "exercising" every day. I know I'm getting more quantity than quality ... I'm a SAHM with the kids in school now, so I do have a little extra time. We have a home gym too, so it's easy to do some on the to do list, then pop down for 20minutes in the gym, do more house/mom stuff, then another…

That is great that you tried and did make that happen ... nice to pass on the good things!

I have just had to admit I'm not a runner ... I'm a wogger (walk/jog). I CAN "run" a mile (5mph) and I do try to get that one mile in on the treadmill several times a week, but it is always a push. I have no problem getting miles in on the elliptical (that's my TV time) or 30minutes on the stationary bike (that's my…

House is a pretty recent addition. We access Netflix on the Xbox, AppleTV, Tivo, Blu-Ray, Ipad apps, Wii. The Roku box in MY go to though. I do find the computer to be the best for general searching. Put anything you have your eye on in your queue and then it's super easy to keep everything right there and organized. Shout…

I usually get up at 6:00, check email and such, and hit the gym in the basement ... I need to pack lunches and get the kids to school at 7:30. I really need that first workout (I do several small ones throughout the day, I'm a SAHM with a home gym, so it works) but I always feel really off if I don't start my day with a…

I have the One, but they are similar. I clip it front and center, facing in (as someone else mentioned) ... at times as you work our and it gets sweaty, it CAN fall out of the little silicone case. Facing in toward your body does help keep it a tad more secure. At times when a certain shirt was a little tight or sheer and…

Did the elliptical ask for your weight? Some do ... that, your fitness level, even if you are male/female can all play a part in your calorie burn. Unfortunately, it is all estimates. I can input my weight on my elliptical, and it is supposedly tracking heart rate as I hold onto the handles. Speed and resistance will…

Another Fitbit fan here ... I've had mine for four years now and still love the feedback. I did a blog post about what you can expect if you get a Fitbit ... http://jenbsjourney.blogspot.com/2013/08/wondering-about-fitbit.html We are a Fitbit family, with my two oldest boys, my parents, several brothers and their wives.

I did both ... my preference was for 30DS. It just seemed more "classic" and straightforward. Some of the moves in Ripped ... I either couldn't do (the "table" ... it doesn't look hard), or they were just odd (the bear crawl, duck walk, the roll and pop up one). There was one section, where I felt like Jillian forgot to…

I have the same HRM ... seems like everyone says "it's coming in high" but NOT for me! I have a Fitbit, and also pull the numbers from the machines (treadmill, elliptical, bike ... not that I think those numbers are correct, just another comparison). For a straight jog/intervals ... I can usually get "in the zone" and my…
