Well...you should eat about 3-500 above your maintenance calories to put on an appropriate amount of weight. If you're not eating a variety of fruits and veggies already, now's the time to start to get that baby the nutrients it needs :) You'll also want to make sure you get 2-3 servings of dairy a day (no more, no less).…

That sounds delicious lol I've been throwing plain greek yogurt into my banana bread when I make it :) Makes it nice and moist..mmmm
-
You look amazing! Great job :)

Just keep in mind that if you use low-fat cream cheese, you're going to be adding extra carbs. Low fat = high carb

So...I understand being frustrated by the lack of support to an extent. However, I'm really sick of people whining about this kind of crap. I mean, really - you'll buy 2 bananas? You can't grab a protein bar at the same place you're going to buy those bananas at? Or one of those pre-made sadwiches at a convenience store?…

I take a multivitamin and vitamin d every morning - I make sure my multi is a bit weak (no RDAs above 50%) because I just use it to fill in the gaps of what I'm not getting from food. But the previous poster was right - your body will excrete most vitamins if it gets too much of them. I'm a nurse though, and I do recommend…

I always weigh it before I cook it - maybe not from a nutritional standpoint, although like someone else said, you won't be underestimating calories that way. But I do it more because that's what restaurants do - a 6oz steak is a 6oz steak before it shrinks and becomes a 4-5oz steak. That actually just made me really sad.…

^^ what they said. Variety. Also, depending on where you live, it might be impossible to get the RDA of certain vitamins - vitamin D is the big one, because it's not found in sufficient quantities in food. You really only get it when you're skin is directly exposed to the sun - and from the research currently out there, it…

Yay, you! Fee free to add me, too - I just hit 100 days and I wasn't sure I'd stick with it even this long either :)

Been there - my annual blood tests were the reason I hopped on here too. Keep at it :)

Not sure how far into the relationship you are...but when you get comfortable enough with it, it might be a good idea to let him know you're trying to eat healthier. My boyfriend and I used to go out for meals often (and I mean, Chinese twice a week, Wendy's and Chipotle in between). But since I've fessed up to trying to…

I made my first goal 69 pounds (just to get to this magical Onerderland that everyone's always raving about!) and will hopefully take off even more after that. Sometimes it really is very intimadating, but we got this :) Sending a request -

lol I'm having PB&J on a whole wheat pita tonight...I really just have to eat through the stuff that's about to go bad...another problem with shopping for one :(

I know a way you can lose weight - Eat some food and exercise. It's magic.
-
It looks fantastic! :)

If you don't log and don't really keep track of what you're eating and how much, how can you honestly say that diet & exercise changes have not worked? I don't mean to be judgmental. But it's better to give 100% to the whole eating-healthy-and-watching-carbs thing before you up and say it's not working.

Don't drink G2 lol Have a goddamn glass of regular water. If your pee isn't the color of very diluted lemonade, and your BP is that low, you're more likely dehydrated than sodium deficient.

I just wanna be on top for once without being all self conscious about my jiggles lol

In all fairness, it's not like you ONLY eat cereal, more cereal and a normal dinner. The challenge specifically tells you to also eat 2 healthy snacks of fruits, veggies or lowfat dairy. I have tried it - only for two weeks, though. It wouldn't be sustainable or even healthy for longer periods of time. I just had about…

As long as you're not anemic or pregnant, you really don't need that extra iron. If possible, have your doc check your hemoglobin. If it's over 12.0, switch to a gummy multivitamin. If you are physically able to become pregnant, you should be taking a vitamin with folic acid. It's critical for a fetus within the first few…

^^that's a good idea. You can at least swap out your fruits, veggies and proteins to make sure you maintain balance and variety to get all of your nutrients, and then you have dinner to play with. I almost always eat the same breakfast, but my lunches and dinners vary.

I'm not sure about the weight but I know my pants get tighter a few days before I get my period - and then I just stay away from the scale until it passes.

A handful of the dark chocolate raisins from Trader Joe's has 90 calories - I go for that (and actually, I just had some last night!). They're incredibly sweet, so you don't need to binge to get that craving to go away :) Or I'll go for a piece of fruit and a glass of water. Sometimes that's enough to take the edge off

^^^Umm....do some Googling before you post. WIC provides a voucher for fresh produce.

I've gotten them before - I lost a lot of weight, but I don't think the shots can take the credit. Pretty sure it was all the other changes I made at the same time.
