  • Honestly, I say just let him grab a snack after dinner if he needs to. That's the agreement my bf and I came to - he eats what I cook, sometimes a slightly larger portion than what I have. And I usually catch him having a snack before bed, like a piece of fruit or some chips and salsa. But I figure he's a big boy, he's…
  • I've lost 20 pounds since I had mine put in - I was warned in advance that it MAY cause weight gain because it increases appetite, so I just plan well enough to have healthy snacks around for the most part. That's not to say I don't give in to my cravings sometimes, but I don't blame that weakness on my birth control
  • I did weight watchers for a year and lost pretty steadily, about 2 pounds a month. I never ate any of the WW brand foods...the thing that I liked about it is that fruits and veggies don't cost any points, which I think helps a LOT of people increase their intake of fiber, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, etc. And I…
  • Sounds like IBS to me, it'd be a good idea to check in with your doc. I started a whole foods, plant-based diet six months ago and it almost completely took care of my digestive issues (I say almost, but really I've been straying a little lately and some of the symptoms have come back)
  • I've been using it about a month and made, like, $12 =) it's not a ton, but I'm setting aside my pact money specifically for new clothes as I lose the weight. I haven't had any problems with it so far - but I also haven't been using it very long. It does say that everything needed to be logged by Sunday night, and I know…
  • Pita pizzas - whole grain pitas with 'za toppings and bake 10ish minutes at 350 Spaghetti Cheater Pad Thai by Happy Herbivore Soup - chuck some veggies in a pot with broth and simmer 30ish minutes
  • Hummus of course =) I also like to mash up chickpeas with a fork, add a squeeze of bbq sauce and throw it on a bun with some spinach and peppers And chickpea tenders - pretty sure if you Google it, a dozen recipes come up. If you season it right and don't overcook it, it's a very similar taste/texture to chicken but…
  • My favorite way to eat it is raw topped with sliced fresh strawberries, or thrown in a smoothie I also put it on pizza, in tofu scrambles and on the rare occasion that I make a quiche for my bf, I put it in there too.
  • I just use water with spices =)
  • The strawberry cream cheese really is pretty amazing (I didn't care for the plain one though). And I like the cheddar slices - they melt like real cheese. A lot of dairy substitutes don't. I thought the shredded mozzarella had kind of a funky taste, but maybe that was just me
  • I swapped soda with water and stopped dumping sugar in my cereal. As far as dessert goes, I replaced it with a cup of herbal tea - not the same effect as a bunch of cookies, but for me it was just the habit of having something before bed
  • Beans Oats Grape Nuts Brown rice Whole wheat flour Unsweetened shredded coconut Lite coconut milk Nutritional yeast Soy milk Flax meal Clementines Grapes Grapefruit Bananas Kiwi Spinach Lite Raspberry Vinaigrette Green beans Potatoes Yams Mushrooms Tomatoes Celery Carrots Onions Avocado Zucchini Garlic Whole wheat pitas…
  • I use Daiya cheddar on occasion if I'm craving a grilled cheese, and their moz isn't too bad either. I also use equal parts of mixed nuts + nutritional yeast as a pizza topping and sprinkle it on spaghetti
  • I have no problem with it - I've been on here almost a year and have logged nearly every day of that (took a week off when I moved a few months ago). Maybe I'm a weirdo, but I actually think logging is kind of fun...
  • BBQ sauce, pineapple and mushroom Fresh tomatoes (no sauce), onion, bell pepper Pizza sauce, fresh minced garlic, spinach and onion I go cheeseless too (saves a ton of calories and saturated fat)
  • I recommend the Happy Herbivore cookbooks - the Pad Thai is to die for and only 330ish calories (and super filling!) Also check out PlantBasedOnABudget.com - I make a lot of their recipes too. The African Peanut Stew is my favorite <3
  • Good for you for kicking the habit! =) I did too about a year ago...I developed a ridiculous caffeine sensitivity so I switched to caffeine free + diet, then started getting migraines from the asperatame so I changed to regular caffeine free....and then I got sick of drinking my calories lol. I go for mostly plain water…
  • I usually order my salads as "just the veggies" and with the dressing on the side. I'll dip my fork into the dressing before loading the fork with the greens so I only pick up a really small amount of dressing...and I'll have that with a plain baked potato and steamed broccoli with lemon juice. Super filling and around 350…
  • I pick up plain baked potatoes and eat them like apples
  • I did the same. Made cranberry bread, cran-orange cookies and tossed some in salad...mmm
  • You can generally substitute it 1 for 1, but be careful with sweetened or flavored almond milk - it can make savory recipes taste kinda weird (I made eggplant parm once and the only milk I had on hand was vanilla rice milk. It came out kinda funky)
  • Clemetines, banana, carrots and a glass of soy or almond milk
  • I spritz mine really briefly with cooking spray and sprinkle nutritional yeast on it (then fluff it and do it again)
  • I use bbq sauce or sliced fresh tomatoes =)
  • I used to hate veggies =) I started forcing myself to gobble spinach salads everyday, and now I crave them (a huge bowl of baby spinach topped with fresh strawberries and/or grapes, mm!). I also make a lot of smoothies and hide veggies in them - yesterday I had strawberries, mango, carrots and spinach with soymilk. It…
  • Sautee some onion, zucchini, bell pepper and the stems from the caps. Add a little thyme and garlic, stuff the caps and bake until they get soft (around 20 minutes) and voila =)
  • I'm assuming the Aria scale works the same way as the Eat Smart scale that I have. It also says that it sends a small shock through you to measure body fat, bone density, etc. If I were you, I probably wouldn't hop on one just to be safe... If you're looking to measure body fat percentage, some good ol' fashioned calipers…
  • Lately I've been making a lot of autumn-y comfort food: veggie shepherd's pie with sweet potato topping, tons of soup, chili, spaghetti with zucchini and squash =)
  • You do know that vitamin D isn't naturally found in animal products, right? They fortify them with it.
  • Hey there - feel free to add me (anyone!) Vegan and looking for like-minded friends =)
