just cut back on it. eat equal amounts of meat and vegetables with your pasta, then you will not waste it, but your consumption will be lessened.

i did just by changing my diet. I actually consume more calories than I did before. I really cut back on wheat, rice, quinoa, and potatoes.

make it from scratch. there are instructional videos on youtube on how to boil the tomatoes and then then fry them to make the sauce. never done it though.
