you measure waist at natural waistline (the thinnest part of your torso) you measure hips at the widest part

when I went to the doctor and realized my current regular weight was higher than what I weighed the day I went to the hospital to deliver my second child edited to add this: seeing a pic of myself on the beach was a real shocker!

stop weighing and measure with a tape measure instead- you are probably physically smaller due to muscle gain and fat loss, but this also makes the weight look like it is going up or staying the same, it will eventually start to go down again but measuring is just way more accurate way to gauge progress

wish I could be in Mexico today! welcome

You are an adult now- you are in control of your own life. Take control and fix these problems- that might mean not seeing your mother for a while, it probably does mean some therapy for you, and when you start to feel depressed or anxious you should exercise because it helps your mind and your body. Only you can do…

glad you are here! you CAN do this! you will love the awesome support in this community

I have one and I love the convenience of it, but I have to admit I have not used it within the past year. It is quick and easy though, and if I were single I would probably use it all the time, but cooking for a whole family of us, it just doesn't work out so great.

yay for you! I reached 270 before I got fed up enough to do something. Good luck on your journey to health.

I cannot attribute it to weight loss, but I can tell you that stopping them does wonders for decreasing my arthritis, crohn's and fibro symptoms. I know personally diet sodas caused crohn's symptoms for me that left when I quit drinking them, completely left, my doctor is amazed and I am no longer having to take meds for…

I do think WW has something to offer, support groups. Each of us needs to try to form an MFP support group in our city or town, then MFP would have that benefit too. Just a thought.....

Here is one for $29.99 that does a great job and it measures in many different formats. http://www.target.com/p/taylor-bamboo-digital-food-scale-brown/-/A-14430878#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=bamboo+food+scale

anything you like to do enough to stick with it long term is probably the best for you, consistency and longevity are the keys

Supportive does not mean doing something you don't enjoy in the heat! Explain to him your situation and feelings about it and help him find a fellow friend who enjoys cycling in the heat. Or see if he wants to go cycle in the gym where it's cool and there are water fountains.

If things seem fine then I would leave them be, but the next time she begins to tell you about her marital issues you should probably tell her "look, we're business partners, we're friends, and I think that you sharing your marital problems with me could destroy both- I want to support you, but I just don't think these are…

Hang in there! Don't give up!! And the cheating is not your fault, it is purely a flaw in HIS character. It has nothing to do with you. And they were big girls because he has found those are easy targets for him- so just be thankful you are not one anymore. You look beautiful!

Hang in there and keep working on it. I have nothing to offer really except that all of us on MFP are rooting for you! :flowerforyou:

Drinking more water might help? And like you said, it is water and it should come right back off. Stay strong!

Mine did used to do that too, until I sat down and talked to him about it. Now that he understands all the ways being overweight hinders my life, he is doing so much better in supporting me. The best way to get through to him is to find something that matters to him, for my husband this was less sex and the fact that I am…

every day, several times a day, it really helps me to log food pretty quickly after I eat it

You will be totally shocked just how much support there is to be had on this site. It is AWESOME.

see if your supervisor will let you sit on a ball instead of a chair- take a walk on your lunch break out in the parking lot, spent many years in call centers and these are things that worked
-
me too, hoping it gets to me soon, darn slow mail service

Your body does need rest. You can actually wear away the very muscle you are trying to build by over-working it.

I'm always over on the fiber- but I am doing fine at staying in my calories for the day and I feel good, so I just am not worrying over the exact pieces that make up my total- I'm not eating a bunch of junk so I think it's fine. As long as your protein is not in spoons full of crisco, I think you're okay.

Tell him "I feel ___________________ when you hover over me like that. It makes me _______________."

Depends on my hunger really. I have never been one who loved breakfast and I never feel hungry in the morning. I get up and have 32 ozs of water right off the bat usually, and most of the time I eat 110-150 calories for breakfast but I am working on increasing it so all my calories don't pile up at dinner time because I…

I agree on that, the dirty stuff has it clearly labeled. I have a more difficult time tracking the healthy foods. At any rate, like someone else said, the weight did not show up in two weeks so it won't be gone in two weeks! Hang in there and try to eat foods that will stay with you, keep you full- drink tons of water!
