So true!

I can already see a difference - great work! :)

The last time I went out for steak... 12 oz steak + side of mashed potatoes + basket of rolls = Food coma. But wait! What did that other table order? A gigantic mountain of ice-cream-brownie-fudge-whipped-cream sundae?!?! BRING. IT.

lol

Bitter much?

You look fantastic too! :D

Bay area! Cali love ~

It just helps me drink more water, and curb late-night snack-attacks. Plus I think the aroma is calming. :)

I completely relate to everything you said - I also have issues with my arms and back (and legs and...). But stick with it! Your body will surprise you. I go through weeks of not seeing any change, then I suddenly see something different in the mirror. Don't give up! If you get bored of whatever workout you're doing - try…

Good job!
-
Oh yay good job! You can totally see the difference - everything looks narrower! :)

I dislike Chobani's plain, but LOVE Fage's plain (2% is heavenly). It may not make a difference if you don't like plain yogurt in general, but I can taste a difference. I like adding banana and berries - kind of like a smoothie, but not blended. You can also try adding a bit of milk.

Unless you have a medical condition, you should be seeing results 4+ months in if you are 1) eating at a calorie deficit and/or 2) using exercise to help you burn calories. I would recommend modifying your caloric intake and see if that makes a difference. The TDEE and BMR estimates you get online are only estimates. You…

I also always felt insecure about my legs. But like the poster above, I started to really like them when I started working out. A combination of yoga, cardio, weight-training, and losing weight overall has made them shapely instead of flabby. I've come to really like the slim-waist-strong-legs look! Just try new activities…

Gotcha - yea maybe I can just go the whole 9 yards and brush my teeth! xD Thanks for the tips guys!

Such a cool idea! $20 is big bucks for a student.

Special K bars - I really like the raspberry cheesecake one. Only 90 calories each. :) Also, frozen banana/peanut butter blend for "ice cream"

Thanks for your input, everyone! Looks like it'll be tough, but still do-able... can't wait! :D

My oatmeal tub says 1/2 cup serving size is 140 calories. I usually use 1/4 cup, using a measuring cup. The nutrition label is pretty accurate for the most part - more than good enough for weight loss purposes.

Agree. If you're not hungry and have lots of energy, who cares? Don't eat more just because a calorie estimator tells you to. Stay in tune with your body - it's pretty smart. ;)
-
Ohhh wow 3-4% fat on that guy is scary looking...
-
Whew, that makes me feel so much better! Thanks :)
-
Lol... yea cAke over cOke for me, any day.
-
Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no set definition for "cheat" meals. I don't think I've ever had a cheat DAY, though. I guess it depends on what you're comfortable with! I sometimes crave wings or burgers, so I'll just go ahead have them, but I do write down how much I have.

This is a common phenomenon with well-trained athletes, but you should definitely go see your PCP for this.

A pear is around 100 calories, almonds are 8 calories per nut, and avocados are certainly calorie-dense - you can put all these in a salad, or eat separately. One of my favorite desserts is avocado drizzled with honey. :)
-
This for me too!!

You WILL get there! Everyone starts somewhere. If you're having trouble getting the motivation to run, either find a friend to run with or try an exercise video right at home! I know Blogilates on YouTube is very popular (and free!). Any activity is good for you, doesn't have to be running. :)

Great job! :D 11 miles is quite a distance! The last time I rode a bike, I sprained my ankle lol...

Gyms really bore me, so I take classes! Bikram Yoga and circuit training are my faves. :)
