  • I think the biggest factor in my weight gain was due to emotional eating. My father passed away at the beginning of my senior year(I quit Cross Country, quit Track&Field, etc. I didn't "feel" like it anymore), and I turned to food... A lot of it. Definitely ate way more than was needed, and couldn't find it in me to really…
  • Oops, double post!!!
  • On most days, I drink two 32oz bottles of water and aim for that goal daily. On more active days, I usually drink four or five bottles... Lately I've been drinking more, but I think it has a lot to do with the weather being so beautiful & warm, and my allergies kicking into high gear...
  • Many have stated this, but seriously it's not your place. And it just seems like kids are being kids! When I used to visit my aunt on weekends/summers, I just enjoyed my time with them. I do know, though, if my aunt had tried to talk to me about gaining weight/lack of eating, I would've been peeved. My mother raised me,…
  • I have 80lbs to lose(I've lost 29lbs so far so it would be a 109lb loss when I reach goal!!!) and I am losing 1-3lb a week, depending on how well I am doing... I aim for 2lbs because I have a lot of weight to lose, though! I know once I get down a little lower, I'll reduce my goal to ~1.5 a week, and work my way down...…
  • I'm a Jawbone gal, but I've been considering switching to FitBit... Jawbone is not compatible(yet) with Windows phones, so I have to rely on my old android phone to sync my data... :(
  • Your profile pic is super inspiring! Love your progress!!! Little success this week : Down 27lb total since February... Plus, TOM is around the corner, and my godawful bloat started, and I'm still down :) Very stoked :)
  • I've lost 27lbs so far, and while my old jeans "feel" looser, I think it's because they were stretched out belief... I went to buy the same exact ones in the same size, but they didn't fit comfortably, and I went up a size... So even though my pant size hasn't gone down, I know it will just take time and patience, but…
  • I always leave room for 4-8 Dark Hershey Kisses in my day so I don't usually feel a need to "cheat". If I have had a tremendously long day at work, sometimes I get off track and go over my calories, but I usually stay under enough all week, so it doesn't affect my weekly deficit... But to me, cheat days don't work for me,…
  • A lady came into my job, asking if we sell Peppermint oil, as people use it to scare off&kill spiders... Other than that, I haven't heard legitimate claims to it "aiding" in weight loss. I don't normally buy into that kind of stuff, though. Most of these claims are often so the little guys can make a profit from people…
  • 3 slices Jenny-O turkey bacon (90cal), 2 eggs(scrambled ~140cal), Strawberries & Banana slices, OJ, and 1 slice of Wellsley Farms Soft Wheat... 515 cals, but I should be full until snacktime(lol) at work this afternoon! It was an awesome breakfast this morning :)

  • There's a woman that goes to my gym... Hers is hot pink, and she wears it over her shirts... I just imagine it makes you sweat more, which would be totally uncomfortable for me. From what I've heard, it doesn't do much, and it doesn't stick... But if you're looking for a temporary fix, then go for it.
  • Hello there :) If you notice on most serving sizes for boxes, they will tell you a portion size... But it will also have a gram/ounce size that you should follow to make sure that you are getting that correct serving size. For example, I eat Hodgson Mill Oat Bran for breakfast. The serving size is this : 1/4c. Dry (40g) If…

  • Best of luck :) Don't forget that you can treat yourself and indulge once in a while, because the more restrictive you become, the harder your transition can be!!! I started out by taking one thing at a time out of my diet, and now am to the point where I don't crave soda, beer, chips, etc. I do incorporate them into my…
  • Hi there :) It may be hard for me to remember to come back to this thread to update, but I am going to make my goals anyways: -After a bout of a cold, I am setting a goal of making it to the gym or OUTSIDE at a minimum of 3x a week(with the added requirement of meeting 7,000 steps daily) -Sweets will only be consumed after…
  • I always record the lowest...(but I only weigh myself in the morning) And I record daily. I do this so I can compare it to my eating habits and recognize a trend. I really like seeing the ups and downs to my journey. It's uplifting to see the fluctuations and recognize that something is working :)
  • You said you bike every day. If you are purely eating 1230 a day, you need to eat your exercise calories back. What, exactly is your height and weight? Don't be ashamed to post it! :)
  • LOL I read it wrong. But for me, anything that causes me to have tummy troubles and be stuck in the bathroom, is pain... But that's another story... But it reminded me of a time when I stupidly tried Slim Fast shakes, and I was having legitimate stomach pain(when I was like 16 and thinking there was a magic pill for weight…
  • If it hurts your stomach, why would you continue drinking it? That's not going to be helpful long-term, especially if you start drinking shakes all day... I can only imagine constant stomach pain... Your body is giving you a sign! I would assume the stomach pain is what is stopping you from eating for 3hours... You could…
  • It all depends on how your body reacts to Coffee For me, my heart rate gets a little racy when I drink coffee, so it's normally not a good idea for me to drink coffee before a workout... However, I do know that if I did, I'd probably be running to the bathroom(lol). So either way, it's a no for me! Everybody is different…
  • Hi there :) I started at 248.8 on 2/17, and have lost 24.6lbs(224.2) as of today. For me, it was a quick loss, but I don't deprive myself. I eat 1600-1900cals a day, and workout ~3x a week, more often if possible, and I eat half my exercise calories back.. So for me, it's been a quick loss so far, but not everyone can…
  • Where could I buy such an amazing thing like this??? Lol
  • I weigh daily, and log all up/down trends because I helps keep me focused... I also track TOM variations so I understand my average gains and whatnot :) others find weekly/monthly easier- everyone has different views... It's all about preference...
  • Well, most of my girlfriends get bloated on TOM, as do I... Maybe sympathy stall in sense of temporary weight gain? But also, great job on the WL!!!
  • That's kind of hilarious and cute! Don't really have any input but there probably is some weird hormonal aspect to it or something... *shrugs* or it could be sympathy stalls :)
  • "When you're on vacation" I loved it :) shared it with my coworkers that are trying to lose weight with me... Pretty great way to start the day :)
  • First time I stepped on the scale I saw 248.8. Just get on the thing! Its not scary, sure I knew I was going to hate the number, but it was just the push I needed! It's not a big deal, it's a big motivator!!!
  • I hate situations like that!!! I work in Retail(supervisor), and I have coworkers who have started "eating healthier", but they still drive to McDonalds and Wendy's on their lunch break to pick up burgers and fries... There is nothing wrong with that stuff, in moderation, but they practically brag about it... They will be…
  • I added Crazy Richard's Pure PB to my morning oat bran... It's pretty tasty, and a nice change up to my breakfast... I'm not a huge cereal person(milk tastes so gross!), but I do enjoy Captain Crunch n Berries(dry, no milk, usually!) every once in a while!!! Any cereal is "good" as long as you can fit it into your daily…
  • I think it has a lot to do with sweating it out(and how much you drink before weighing)... I never weigh after working out, only because I consider first thing in the morning, after using the bathroom, to be the most accurate for me... Everybody is different...
