I always find it interesting reading about how the period affects the weight. I always read everyone gains weight or stays the same before a period, I always seem to have my LOSS just before my period... I must be the only woman looking forward to my period because my scales are nice to me!

I am Jo, joined somewhere in April I think. I have lost about 23 kg. Gained a couple when away for 6 weeks visiting my parents overseas and of course Christmas as well. I was 93, I am now about 71-72kg. My main goal is 69kg, and if I can get there, 63kg.... I am 38 years old and live near Bunbury, WA. Lived in New Zealand…

It's very frustrating isn't it? It took me 3 months!!!! to start loosing weight... I kept on telling myself I was gaining muscle... After that it went reasonably quick and now I am closer to a so called healthy weight, I get many plateaus.... As said before, do you feel healthier and fitter? That is important too. And of…

Welcome, I live in Australia at the moment but my partner is a New Zealander (I am Dutch myself) and I have lived in New Zealand for 10 years. 3 of my children were born there and I trained as a midwife over there as well. Good luck with your weight loss journey and feel free to add me as a friend.

We are actually talking at work about this last evening. One of my colleagues is quite overweight and has been trying EVERYTHING to loose weight. She tried all kinds of diets for MONTHS. Exercise, dietician, naturopath, tablets... but just no luck. We also talked about possible medical issues.... she did get most tested…

Bec, I started last year in October with jogging. in the first 3 months I lost NOTHING!! It was very frustrating. In January I finally started to loose some weight so in about 10 months I have lost 19kg. I will have to think about my goals for August! Certainly keep drinking water and going to the gym.... It so depends on…

Sorry to hear you are so frustrated! I remember when I started (without myfitness pal) I was jogging 3-4x a week and careful with what I ate, it took 3 months!!!! before the number on the scales went down. It was soooo frustrating and I was ready to throw in the towel but I persevered and have now lost about 19 kg in 10…

I am in Aussie, WA, 37 years old and have 4 children (12, 11, 6 and 3) and work as a midwife. So busy busy! I started at around 93kg and am currently 74-75kg. I am 1.67 tall. I would like to get to 69kg and maybe push it down to 65kg but lets get to the 69 first! I am not set at 1200 cal, I am trying to loose weight but…

I am so sorry to hear about your mum. It is really hard to help if they don't want to help themselves. I don't really have much to add and agree to be brutally honest, she is killing herself and won't see her daughter or grandchildren grow up. Maybe she needs to actually SEE something, pictures of people or stories of…

I don't do regular night shifts so not sure whether this would affect my weight, but being a midwife I do work some nights. I don't tend to eat much during the night. I might have a piece of toast and hot drink but otherwise I have breakfast when I get back home, go to sleep and when I wake up some lunch and later dinner…

Well done, that certainly is a success story!

Thanks for your reply. The couple of big ones I have had drained for a while and hence the antibiotics. Hearing that you have only had a few is good to hear. I will have to be even more vigorous with keeping everything clean and make sure it is all healed properly and hopefully they will stay away for a long time!

Welcome. I also have just been using the forum a bit in last couple of days. I am living in WA, originally from Europe so I guess our 'cold' here, is lovely for many Europeans!
