Hahaha, that's awesome. Where can I find one of these? I know *just* who I would give it to, haha......

I eat lots of carbs and sugar and I still lost weight. As long as you burn more calories than consume, it matters not what you eat. :flowerforyou: I'm also veg, but have been for over 20yrs. Am I the only person on the planet who actually lost weight after becoming veg?

I like this. I started following the 'New Rules of Lifting for Women' program in December, though I'm working from home, so not lifting as heavy as I'd like (still building my weight collection!). I do lift heavy stuff on a regular basis, however, because I run a horse farm, so much of the credit has to go to that…

I'm looking for barn help. I lift lots of heavy stuff every day.

I'm in. Oh, you mean it's not Friday yet? They all run together in my world....

Get the Apple Care, but get it from Mac not the retailer (if you're buying it from Best Buy or anyone other than Apple). My last MB I was really grateful I'd gotten it, because I had my first (in over 20 years) Mac lemon. Pretty much had everything replaced on it! My current one is two years old an haven't had any…

Ditto. Though I wouldn't call that settling.

Technically everything in the grocery store is processed, actually. Growing/raising your own is the only way around it. Some things are just more highly processed than others. I was going to write a blog post on this....maybe I will some day. My BSc in Food Science (including two years of Food Processing, zzzzzzzz) has to…

I have two. RIght now I don't get to ride at all. One is recovering from surgery (at least I try to tell her that), but the real excuse is we've had a crummy winter and I have nowhere to ride, and my other horse isn't the most enjoyable hack mount. Add to that a bit of a time challenge (thanks to the other eight I…

Aren't they all bad? I can't watch any of them!

I really despise artificial sweeteners, and find the chocolate ones tend to be particularly bad. I've just ordered a new one to try (with natural sweeteners) so if it's any good I'll let you know! What I've found works best is buying chocolate soy milk (chocolate almond milk would work just as well!) and mixing…

This is so well-said, don't think I can do better than that. Was difficult to hear the news, so much more so for you as her friend.

Very cool. Thanks.

Okay, you fitness gurus....if you take a muscle and put repeated force on it you're going to get some hypertrophy, are you not? I know it's not my imagination that I've seen cyclists with huge quads, and it's not from doing weights, it's from the resistance they get pedaling (especially hills). So it is possible to build…

I was raised to call it a bathroom....even when there's no bath. I am north of you Burlington folk here.

I really envy canines, only having to worry about such things twice a year.....

The arguments against soy are, for the most par,t unsubstantiated myths. :flowerforyou: Be sure to try different brands if you don't like the flavour of one - some companies do a better job than others of taking that 'beaniness' out of it. I prefer it over almond milk because it has a decent protein content (6g/cup…

Who-hooo!!!

This thread should really be a sticky.

2010 Toyota Tundra. I had a lemon of a Dodge Dakota, a lemon of a Dodge Ram and stolen Dodge Ram before I stopped being stupid. :flowerforyou:

Hehe, Aus is my dream destination, maybe we could do an exchange program. In SW Ontario, where it's supposed to be winter right now, but really isn't.

Your best bet is to invest in a heart rate monitor. Failing that....try doing a google search. I know there are various places that list calorie estimates for various horse chores, there may be something similar out there for cows!

You look awesome, way to go!

Beaten with sugar, vanilla, flour, baking soda and chocolate chips and baked at 350 F for about 10 minutes.

Learn how to tape your ankle. I messed up my ankle pretty badly as a teen (fractured in three places, dislocated, ruptured tendons and ligaments, surgery with I can't remember how much metal, surgery a year later to take that metal out, surgery six years after that to clean up the surface of the cartilage and chip off a…

I love how you Americans assume the world is made up of other Americans. :flowerforyou:

Wow, 8-10 hrs? In my dreams, haha. 6-7 is the norm. Wish I could get by on less, days aren't long enough.

That is exactly the joy of spinning - you do what you can. Know one else needs to know you didn't add in when the instructor said to! The classes I used to take were in a dark room which was great - kind of let you get into your own world and forget those around you. I was okay with the standing up parts because I ride…

I agree! Once I start wearing my big old Sorels in the winter to keep my feet warm I'm sure I must be burning more! Then add the 6-12 inches of snow I have to trudge through!
