Chiropractic and Bowen therapy. :)

I'm another one that cooks for my dog. Rice, ground beef, mashed frozen peas, nutritional yeast, joint supplement and mineral premix. My previous dog lived until she was nearly 17 on this diet, and my present guy is nearly 15 and just starting to show his age. Pretty inexpensive, and once you get into a routine, not that…

The true winner. Nickelback pales in comparison (especially) when it comes to embarrassing Canadians everywhere).

Please also note that all fibres are not created equal (though each is beneficial in its own way). Do some research on soluble fibre vs. insoluble fibre and the benefits of each. ;)

I think there are some people that do next to no cardio and lift weights that would take exception to this comment. I always thought that was exercise.
-
Well riding horses isn't exercise either, dontcha know? The horse does all the work, right? :flowerforyou: (please forgive my sarcasm!)

Well, it's all relative. I muck 7-10 stalls in two hours, give or take. I've got a BodyMedia FIT and comparing a day where I do stalls compared to one I don't, I burn about 500 more calories, at my weight. Before I got my BMF and was logging on here I just had my activity level set as active to account for that, as for me…

Chocolate.

Honestly? Everyone is focusing on diet, pretty much. Forget that (well, not completely, of course!). While your food diary may have some issues, your exercise diary is more the issue, IMO. I don't think you're working hard enough, sorry! You've gotten some good advice on adding in some weight training....and I think…

I fractured and dislocated my ankle as a teen (ruptured tendons and ligaments too, fun)...surgery, hardware, etc. Are you on crutches? I got pretty good with them and could get a good workout just....well, I guess it's not exactly walking! Great for building upper body strength, too. If you can just get outside where…

Carrot cake and champagne *every* day, not just once a week.

This is my biggest peeve about the forums too (and the reason I just stay away, because it makes me stabby). I  you.
-
Agreed. If you actually read the research you'll find the fear of soy is unsubstantiated. :flowerforyou:
-
I fractured my ankle in three places, dislocated it, and ruptured all the tendons and ligaments. There were no rainbows involved. There was also relatively little pain involved. Radiography is wonderful technology.

Haha....you should see the specs on some of the stuff that's allowable in foods. :flowerforyou: I doubt you're going to see insect parts and the like on labels.

Lindt 90%.

We are NOT the only mammals that do not eat it! As a result sometime in the next week I will have one from a mare that's due to foal. Anyone interested? Maybe I could put it up on eBay....
-
I get paid to do both of mine - painting (oil) and mucking stalls.
-
Thank you both. You beat me to it. And it's not a chicken placenta either. Chickens aren't mammals. And for the record....not all animals eat their placenta. Horses sure don't. And they probably have the fastest recovery of any animal on the planet (just guessing, so feel free to correct me). Their babies are ready to run…

Yes. This. :drinker:

Okay, I have no problem whatsoever with dairy, but I'd like you to post the peer-reviewed journal articles that support your statement that soy is evil. There is a lot of misinformation being spewed about soy. Probably by the dairy industry. :flowerforyou: My degree is in Food Science (minor in Functional Foods and…

I just got a BMF on Friday, and so far mine has been coming in at just under 3k, with no exercise. Well....I have a fairly active job. I'm 5'6 130lbs.
-
I'm waiting for one of these articles to post a link to the actual study. I can't take these "news" places that post this stuff without at least providing that, because inevitably their generalizations are wrong. That said, eating chocolate and still losing weight is my story, haha!!

This.

And see, this is where the whole logic is flawed....we're supposed to have microorganisms in our digestive tract. Mess with the balance of your gut flora, and you will pay. :flowerforyou: If it really worked, you would become very sick, very fast.

IMO, a big 'no!!!!!!!!' I bought a pair just for walking around because they seemed so comfy....I have a really bad ankle and I don't know how many times I've almost gone over on it with those shoes. Definitely would not want to be running in them.
-
That is SO unfair. My grocery store limits quantities when ice cream is on sale....:grumble:
-
Yes they are different. Very different. FWIW, the elliptical really messes up my knees, and I don't have bad knees!

Oh, look, about.com saves the day! http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/glossary/g/Hpertrophy-Def.htm

Whey Gourmet Naturelle uses natural sweeteners and contains no oil. 20g protein per scoop, 120 cals. Still laughing at the guy who won't mix with dairy milk. Because, well, you know whey is dairy, right?
