  • I feel bad that you had such a bad leader - I've been very fortunate with leaders; though I have heard some horror stories as well. I have NEVER had a WW leader and/or receptionist suggest or force any of the WW snacks on me EVER. And guess what? I don't use them. Again, I feel bad that you had a bad experience with it.
  • Well I don't know how your family member is doing Weight Watchers, but I eat healthy on my plan and sometimes I can't even use all my 26 pts in a day. And I never use fat free products at all. A lot of people have issues with the fruit...follow the good health guidelines and you'll see that WW recommends 3-5 servings of…
  • Weight Watchers works as long as you do the plan. If you lose the weight, quit and then not continue with the plan on your own, yes the weight will come back. If you continue to do the plan on your own, you can maintain. Weight Watchers does not fail - people do!! If you use MFP faithfully and track honestly, you'll lose;…
  • Try these sites: Skinnytaste; Greenlitebites, Danicasdaily, Emilybites too name just a few.
  • I'm a Weight Watchers lifetimer who quit WW after losing the weight then stopped doing the program and well, we all know what happens. But that happens with EVERY diet - you stop doing it, it stops working. I'm headed back there tonight to start over. Why there? For the past year I've been trying to do it on my own and I…
  • I find that most people don't understand the fruit concept. They see "free" or "0 pts" and immediately go into overload. If you look at the WW guidelines they say 3-5 servings of fruit or vegetables a day. My leader stressed that if your weight was stalled or you were gaining, the first thing to look at was your fruit…
  • I must belong to the same group. Though I know nothing of the product, I get tired of hearing "it's all natural"....all natural products sometimes do not work well with prescription meds, so "all natural" doesn't always mean "safe". Another thing I noticed on this group is that they are saying you don't have to…
  • See this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/822197-how-to-track-weight-watchers-points-on-mfp
  • I joined WW in 2010 under the old point system (which 3 mos. later changed to the current points plus). Within the year I lost 40 lbs. and made Lifetime. But I only made Lifetime at a very small margin. When I went thru maintenance they told me raise my daily pts to 35; I did and gained...so they told me to keep lowering…

  • I have to agree with this...I hate paying as well, but it seems to be worth it since I know it works! Also remember, Lifetime is only free if you are within 2 lbs. of goal at weigh-in - otherwise they make you pay. But my goal is to get back there and and stay there!! WW name is stratcat45
  • Stay on track the rest of the day with healthy eating - don't give up on the whole day. Yes, you are probably going to be over for the day; but log it and learn from it!
  • I'm thinking the same...it's the only thing that I've ever been successful with!
  • Buy a Packit lunch bag. It folds flat to fit in your freezer (so you don't have to use an ice pack and such) and will keep your food cold up to 10 hours. www.packit.com Hard boiled eggs are always a good choice; as well as sandwiches. Fresh fruits and veggies; lunch meats. How on the go are you? Do you at any point have…
  • clapointe: it can take up to a year to get your Synthroid meds exactly right; they start low and then slowly increase/decrease as needed. I still have blood work done every 6 months.
  • I've been hypo for years. I lost 40 lbs. on Weight Watchers in 2010-2011. I've gained half back but it has nothing to do with my thyroid; it's because I went off track and began eating badly again. For some reason, everyone thinks that if you're hypo and then start medication, weight will drop off left and right with very…
  • The best piece of advice I can give anyone that does Weight Watchers is to plan your menus to fit your daily points. Try to fit in all the Healthy Guidelines: 2 tsp healthy oil; 5 servings fruit or vegetables; 2 dairy; multi-vitamin; 6 cups of water (WW will let you count any liquid towards that, but remember juices and…
  • Sandy - 360 is still Points Plus - nothing changed on how the points were calculated - you still do fat, fiber, carbs and proteins. What they basically did is revamp the system with a new look and name (they do that every year practically)...360 takes everything the full circle - healthy eating, exercising, keeping things…
  • I don't think there is an easy answer here. Points are not equal so it is hard to say how many calories make a point. Remember: With Weight Watchers you have 49 weekly points that can be used (MFP isn't giving extra weekly calories). Weight Watchers has that all configured into their plan; so if you happen to go over a day…
  • Yep, I've been using that too!! I agree, not all calories/points are created equal! I create my own fruits - I give them the calorie value from the data base and then put 0 for the fat, carbs, fiber and protein - that way it calculates the fruit to 0 pts. It is VERY interesting to see how those 0 pt fruits add up calorie…

  • Mine is visible to my friends (and some of them I know personally and some I only know on MFP). No one has ever critique my menus and I never have anyone else's. I do enjoy looking at others because it gives me meal ideas and such. I haven't met a person yet that doesn't have a bad day every once in a while, myself…
  • When I'm in a hurry: yogurt 100 cal. pack Emerald nuts banana
  • Goggle "Why the scale lies".
  • Back when I lost my weight originally, I had spent a weekend boxing up the "fat" clothes to donate to a local thrift shop. At work the following Monday, while discussing the weekend I mentioned I cleaned out my closet. A co-worker asked if I had anything "good", I told her yes, some with tags; she asked if she could go…
  • Height: 5'3" Age: 49 Highest Weight: 184 Lowest Weight: 146 (within the past 2 years; I was a little itty bitty 98 lbs. in high school!) Current Weight: 163 I'm a weight watchers lifetimer that is currently over goal. My goal weight was 146 but I was never able to maintain it; I was at 152 for a very long time after…
  • I love Weight Watchers and think they have an excellent program; unfortunately most people do not do the program correctly. Not all veggies are 0 pts. Starchy veggies (potatoes, peas, corn for example) have pts values to them. All FRESH fruit may be counted as 0 pts. however WW does not say that just because something is 0…
  • I know at least three people who have done this. One-passed out and ended up in the hospital where a doctor instructed her to NEVER do it again. The second one was very successful but the minute she went off of it gained weight back extremely fast without a huge increase in food intake. The third one has been very…
  • Unfortunately when it comes to public boards (all of them, not just here) you have to deal with the people who get enjoyment out of putting others down. They can't help it - it is so easy to hide in cyber-space. If someone has a process that works for them - they refuse to believe that any other process works despite that…
  • Remember not all veggies are 0 points; starchy ones like potatoes, corn, peas do have a point value. WW Healthy Guidelines says to eat 5 servings of fruit and/or veggies a day. Don't overdue it with fruit just because it is 0 pts. It's only 0 pts. because WW says that you can count it as 0. If you took the nutritional…
  • Mine didn't work the first time I tried; let me see if I can help: First - get MFP set correctly; under settings you want the nutrients tracked in this order (they have to be in this order): Calories (required) Carbs Fat Fiber Protein (include no other nutrients), Save. Download Mozilla Firefox (it's free) if you don't…
