  • i feel lean and strong and walk with a spring in my step! I got my sparkle back!
  • try these - worked for me http://fitbie.msn.com/get-fit/exercises-lose-your-muffin-top
  • I do mine in my dining room, conservatory and garden. I have 2x 1.4kg dumbells, 1x4kg dumbell, and 1x4kg kettlebell. At my age, size, and aspirations it's all I need. I won't be moving on to anything heavier. Combine it with a good cardio programme 2 or 3 times a week (more if you want to - I find time can be difficult…
  • agree - don't bother with a 'diet' as Tavistock Toad says :) MFP does work, eat what you like and stay within your calories and do some light weight training with dumbells to tone arms and back. Personally, I'd be sure to eat really healthily to boost your hair and skin ready for your wedding (fruits, vegetables, nuts,…
  • My pics are on my profile. I've done 4 days (not the diet plan) .... every workout is a killer - I love the countdown timer so I know how long I need to push myself for! Shaun Ts stretches for warm up and cool down are really good and he does both sides evenly (unlike Jillian Michaels who doesn't appear to be able to…
  • thanks for clarifying the programme Dan, that's far more helpful :)

  • Dans advice may well be good but I doubt the OP is quite ready for one handed push ups and one handed pull ups just yet! Those exercises are pretty hardcore - I certainly can't do them and neither can most of the men I know (young and old, gym and non gym members). The OP wanted advice on toning up in 10 minutes, she's…

  • i used Runtastic (free app) on my samsung S2 - I've now got a Samsung S4 and it has a free Samsung Health app installed which includes a pedometer which is really accurate - much better than Runtastic as it doesn't need GPS switched on so your battery lasts longer (maybe you can download it in the Play Store for the S2?)
  • LOL! And more LOL!!!! What planet are you on?!!!! Give her a break, it's the girls first post .....and OP please don't PM him, he's having a laugh.

  • Walking works for me :) I often do cardio and strength though I'd focus on upper body strength rather than legs if I'd already worked them.
  • Yes the bands, push ups, planks and crunches will work but 10 minutes won't do it - aim for at least 20 minutes and really focus on your form. Dumbbells are great for the arms, shoulders, and flabby bra strap back fat (bent over rows). I use a combination of 1.4k dumbells and 4k dumbells . The muscle tones under the fat so…

  • This is really interesting ! I think my waist is my worst area, always a bit tree trunk like (I'm an apple shape) so I just did the calculation and it came out as 0.783 so I guess that means I've got a healthy ratio, I'm quite surprised!
  • are you a beginner? i bought a kettlebell a few weeks ago but don't find it particularly comfortable and I can't use it in a lot of video workouts in the same way I can use dumbells. I haven't found a kettlebell workout I like yet so it's sitting there largely unused. Cords can be picked up and used any time any place and…
  • DONE! 49 years old, 5'3 apple shape, small/medium frame 90 days from 137lb to 126.8lb 4.5 inches off waist 4 inches off hips ... and that apple belly that bulged from below the boobs - GONE! (along with the double chin, muffin top and bra strap back fat!) and its staying off - losing that 10lb was hard work! good luck…
  • I'm an apple too and lost my 10lb in the last 90 days - cutting bread, pasta, rice and potatoes was key. Upping protein always works for me and gives me the energy to exercise. I ate the same foods as before but lowered the oil and reduced the portions (MFP works!)
  • Oh and my favourite ... Chicken fillet topped with half a sliced avocado and 2 rashers of bacon with a green salad ... Have it with or without the bun, with or without fries!
  • I love chicken! It's my staple! I fry it in a pan with a tablespoon of coconut oil, seal both sides, throw in some boiling water to the base of the pan, add salt pepper herbs (tarragon is great, or oregano, thyme, whatever you like) juice of a lemon, simmer til the water has gone ... Delicious, eat hot or cold. Serve with…
  • great! keep it up then - you know what you need to do! the 'just do 10 minutes' sounds like a great plan - it works for me too, it invariably turns into at least 50 minutes!
  • Give yourself a break and set yourself an easier target like 3 workouts a week instead of 5. On the days you don't workout commit fully to staying within your calorie goal or go for a nice walk to earn a few more and keep your fitness moving. 5 days a week is a lot to keep up to, some days I really can't be bothered, some…
  • i do level 2 30DS every other day - i find it too boring to do every day. I always add at least 30 minutes free weights/and, or ab floorwork to the end of it before stretching. I love the workouts, but I don't think she can count! I'm sure I'm going to end up with an overdeveloped right shoulder and thigh - she never does…
  • my basic sauce is 8-10 fresh tomatoes roughly chopped 1 large white onion chopped 4-6 cloves garlic minced 1 tsp unrefined sugar 15ml extra virgin olive oil 1 tbsp oregano (or basil, or thyme, or a mix) (fresh when i have it or dried from my store cupboard 250ml water (or chicken or vegetable stock) 1 tsp sea salt big…
  • planks (normal and advanced); military presses; squat lunges; hopping. All pretty simple exercises but pretty effective for stabilising the core and developing balance. Do you have a wii fit? there's some great balance exercises and games on there (trickier than you might think!)
  • bumping to follow later - i might do this after my holiday!
  • ^^ THIS!!! it doesn't sound to me like you have a relationship problem at all, there really are some silly comments from people here! It sounds to me like a simple case of immaturity (fella's can be pre-disposed to this condition!) You don't need his support, do this for yourself, simply say no to the junk, be clear about…
  • Mine has been all about portion control! I eat the same food as I did before just in smaller quantities, I weigh everything, definitely use less oil than before ... Smaller plates do fool the brain but its not the deciding factor! Weigh weigh weigh, every crumb! As i cook most of my own food ive found that the recipe…
  • I've got an arthritic left knee due to damaged cartilage from sports injuries years ago. Walking regularly really does help strengthen the leg muscles and so supports the knee and I pretty much don't have regular problems with it these days. High impact exercises can make it ache so I make sure I have good form and take it…
  • I'm off to watch Europes Strongest Man Finals at Headingley Stadium, Leeds, England! This decides who gets into Worlds Strongest Man! ETA for typos!
  • Yes, pretty much 6 days out of 7 ... Diary is open :) (tonight is the day off!)
  • yes, you add the calories 'earned' through exercise on to your calorie allowance for the day. Are you sure you've worked this out correctly though? 1200 is usually the default MFP for a woman - and you're a guy so I would have expected it to give you a default minimum of 1440. Look on the forums for TDEE and BMR advice,…
  • absolutely agree with pamsue! fish, chicken, beef, nuts, eggs. Also chick peas, spinach, green leafy vegetables and get some good oil (coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil) in your diet (helps the body to absorb the nutrients). If you want to maintain your muscle you need to keep exercising - if you don't exercise the…
