  • @Celtic--- was going to guess but you beat me to the punch LOL
  • I know I sure was! I think we all have pet peeves about the gym. Maybe you could offer them assistance if you happen to notice. I know you said trainers should do it, but in reality they arent always willing to. Just my $.02
  • I know it can be very bothersome when the folks that should be supporting you, just flat out arent. I'm not sure what type of person you are, but for myself, I wouldnt be able to tolerate that long before I ended up saying something. You can certainly be polite about it, but let them know that this is whats been working…

  • I was just about to post something similiar. I have been working on my overall fitness and my arms have always been my trouble area. When I stop waving, my arms still are lol. I have been doing girly pushups until I'm strong enough to hold my own weight. Boy do I DISLIKE pushups LOL I have been doing the weight machines…
  • I work in the mental health field and what you have described are signs of depression as quirky has posted. There are alot of support groups for depression (if that is in fact what you are dealing with). I'm not a guy, but I am a firm believer that things fall into place when they are supposed to. You made the first step…

  • When I hit the 25 down mark, I got my nails done. It was such a great self esteem booster for me. When I hit 50, my friend/weight loss "coach" purchased a gift certificate for me to get my hair cut/colored. I set my appointment for June 7th, still have about 5 lbs more to lose before hitting the big 5-0 Lost. No clue what…
  • Im not looking to offend/bash anyone either on here, BUT I am a firm believer in whatever works for you, do it. With weight loss, sometimes it's trial and error. Folks take things WAY too seriously on here. If things bother ya THAT much, simply dont read it. It is a choice to read the threads or not. Some of them are…
  • Ate my 4 oz of raw broccoli salad for lunch and then added a cup of steamed chicken and broccoli. It was delicious! Hoping to get to the gym to ride the bike tonight since my knee is all out of whack.
  • I have a set of 9 year old fraternal boy/girl twins. Those are the only kids I have for now. Guess we shall see what happens in the future. :)
  • Gotcha beat, turning 30 in July! AHHHHHHH!!!!!! From Jersey (yup, Dirty Jersey) Anyone can add me--- All I ask is that you log DAILY and be positive :) Rachael
  • I weigh in once a week (On Saturdays) and honestly, I'm with any loss. In my mind, a loss is a loss, no matter how much. It's still a step in the right direction for me :) IDK if this helps at all, just my thoughts
  • Ingrown hairs can be extremely painful. It really depends on your pain tolerance. I know you asked for men to respond, but women are not excluded from ingrown hairs. If you are going to pop it yourself, make sure that your hands and the general area are thoroughly cleaned before hand. Wishing you the best of luck! Rachael
  • I'm with Kate..I just got mine and I enjoy it. You have to find what works for you the best. No one on this website is an expert--its all opinion based. :) good luck
  • I started c25k when I was around 280ish I think. I havent completed it yet, but thats a whole seperate story. I did do a 7k run on the boardwalk and found it exhilirating to have run 3.6 miles. Well, more like a light jog. I think the advice that was given from the first post is EXCELLENT advice. I had to do it at my own…
  • Hi! I purchased the Polar ft4 last week and received it on Saturday. I used it this weekend and WOW do I love it. I got it from a website called www.bodytronics.com They have a ton of other things besides HRMs. I used a promo code and saved 5 % (CODE: POPO) I dont know if its still a valid code, but I purchased it Thursday…
  • I used workout videos until I felt comfortable enough to go join a gym. Are you looking to purchase one or use them at the gym? Keep doing what you are doing :) Best of luck to you!
  • Hi, I'm Rachael and I'm a 29 y/o mom to 9 1/2 year old fraternal twins. Feel free to add me, open journal :) Celebrating 120 consecutive days of logging today
  • I purchased a food scale on ebay for $20. Best invest for me. I use it all the time to weigh almost every meal. I will weigh things out for the next days meals. Its def more accurate than eye balling what you think is an appropriate portion. Opened my eyes to how much food I REALLY consumed. :) Great thread
  • bump= bring up my post i'd say jump right in, make sure you stretch REALLY good before hand. I am waaaay overweight and I jog :) c25k is a good program to possibly try as well. It's a free app for your phone (c25k = couch 2 5k)
  • hi all- Friday fitness...I ended up taking our clients for a walk in lovely Atlantic City today on the boardwalk. I ended up walking 3.11 miles in 67 min. It was great, today was supposed to be an off day. Good thing I did, because my friend and I went to dinner...oh wait till you see my diary for tonight…
  • Thursday truth--- I JUST WANT TO BE SKINNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is all.
  • I love this thread so much that I am going to post again! NSV--people on MFP are now asking ME for weight loss advice and how I've lost my weight since Jan. 3rd. That is so mind blowing to me. I am just in awe. :) Totally rocked my ego--I just knew I was awesome!!
  • hands down my favorite response. Id be really upset in all honesty if that was my health advisor. That's not advice. If you read it carefully, that's what the individual does to maintain his/her own body weight. Now I'm no expert, clearly, but I do know that each person has an individual chemical makeup and certain are…
  • I'm not in Canada and I'm not sure, but I always check Amazon first before any other website. If I cant find what I want there, I check eBay. Lots of people ship to Canada on there and some have lower prices or free shipping, just depends on the seller. Hope this helps :)
  • What a great topic for discussion! My NSV today --I dropped my kids off to their before school care (I have to be at work by 8 am) and as I was walking out, wearing my new 2 sizes SMALLER pants and shirt, the gym teacher said, oh look at this skinny girl! I told her that I've lost almost 40 lbs and she said "WOW!". I will…
  • I really like that. If ANYONE ever spoke to me like this, I'd be in jail LOL-- On a much more serious note, as a social worker, this is extremely damaging to your self esteem which can cerntainly impact other areas of your life to create so much negativity. Spouses should be a massive support, not always the case, but we…
