This is an awesome topic  For me, in the last 2 or 3 years of trying to lose weight and frequently quitting or gaining more, trying to instigate lifestyle changes was far too much. I was trying to make massive changes and impact on the way I live, who I am (lazy) and how I spend my time. This was never, ever going…

Before dinner is usually the only time I get hungry, but because for me, it's generally a small window, I find I can just willpower it through until I serve dinner. My big issue is that I'm greedy in the evening- it's the time of day when I really want to eat! The only thing that works for me is to budget calories for it…

I don't have any kids, but I was "an accident" although my family always insists a happy one! My mum and dad had been out at a party- my dad was too drunk to go for condoms, and my mum said "oh I'll be fine". She was not. And here I am. I actually owe my very existence to Bacardi.

I think most people look at their weight loss over a week, and in that instance, it will be your weekly calorie total that matters most, not your daily total. As eringrace suggested, just try to burn off a few more calories each day if you feel bad about it. It will balance out.

You're not alone in this. I've had a bad week all in all- a family birthday to celebrate, and I've been ill with mumps, but I've still lost weight and was also able to wear a skirt I've not been comfortable in for about a year. For some reason, I just can't feel happy or encouraged about it. I still look at the mirror and…

I had very noble intentions when I started that I wouldn't let the weekends be a massive binge-session, but the moment I'm sat at home with my husband, treats ensue. What I've done, is try to track all my weekend calories religiously (although I often don't even log in on Saturday and/or Sunday). This gives me a complete…

Plan?? I'd be starting out with a tequila brunch and would then be too drunk to follow any kind of plan.

Water is important. I usually only get hungry when I'm due to have a meal. If I find I'm randomly hungry at other times, I have a glass of water. 99% of the time, it turns out I was just thirsty.

This is both my experience and my advice :) Enjoy your Dr. Pepper.

I agree with this. I adore cheese, and it would make me too miserable to either go without or eat a lot of the heavily processed cheeses. 30g of Mature English Cheddar or Blue Stilton goes a surprisingly long way for most things. I wouldn't bother with Laughing Cow if you don't like it- make room in your calorie budget for…

This may not apply to you, but you need to be careful if you exercise while taking painkillers, because this can mask warning pains. I do yoga as my only regular exercise, and I've had to skip it nearly every day this week for that reason. Fortunately my lack of appetite is making up for the lack of exercise.

Take a skinless chicken breast, either fry in low-calorie cooking spray or grill with some garlic and parsley, then top with a thin slice of blue cheese and jalapeno peppers and finish under the grill to melt the cheese a little. Quick, easy and delicious. It also works brilliantly for steak.

Why would we not be kind? The difference between those pictures is absolutely gobsmacking. They should put that on the front of the DVD- it would sell out.

I've never been to Asia, but I do frequently shop at our local Chinese supermarket. Most everything is labelled in Chinese or Japanese. I get by because I'm very enthusiastic about Asian food and have done a fair amount research as to what these vegetables are, have tried them, and know what I can put them in. You might…

Oh its amazing. It's my husband's recipe and he's from Derby, UK (I'm a southerner, originally). I hate raw blue cheese, but just melting blue cheese in double cream with some garlic... delicious.

I've been on diets before where I give up eating all my favourite foods and I can't stick to them. I eat everything I love most and just stay within my calorie budget- much easier to stick to! I just can't give up creamy blue cheese pasta.

I usually eat the vast majority of my calories for dinner, but on the occasions where I have a big lunch (this tends to be at the weekend if I go out to a pub or restaurant), I have a much smaller meal at dinner- something like a sandwich or something, virtually just a snack. It depends how you like to eat.

I agree with this knowledgeable person. Breakfast works for the majority of people because they are either hungry when they wake up or will be hungry within a few hours of waking up. I am rarely either of those things. I have one or two cups of coffee and have my first meal of the day around lunchtime, when I actually…

You.... You restore my faith in humanity....

I started at 181lbs, am 5' 7" and hilariously sedentary. MFP gave me a shade under 1500 calories, which seems to be suiting me quite well.

Nori sheets are delicious and what you describe will definitely work. Whether its close to the intended end result of the recipe, I can't say, but it'll probably taste good. You can do all kinds of stuff with Nori sheets. I put them in sandwiches.

Yoga is pretty much my only formal exercise. I've used it before to lose weight and been very successful with it. I find it puts me in the correct mindset (ie. ooh, salad! Yum!), is a great toning exercise, and is just all-round less horrible than other exercise (yes, I am very lazy and I hate exercising). Its important to…

I've had this problem in the last couple of days- I have just not been hungry. I've actually just had a chocolate bar to make sure I come in at over 1200 today. I think I might be coming down with something and that's why I'm not hungry, but in your case, sounds like student eating has made you used to eating low calories.…

I hate most rice cakes and don't bother with them, but my mum used to buy these luxury ones from a local deli and they were amazing. They were only a few calories each and had no additional flavour to them, so I don't know what was luxury about them or why they tasted so good- but they did!

This person is my new hero. I came to the conclusion that trying to cut out my favourite recipes was what prevented me from losing weight- just too hard to stick to. I still make pasta in cream sauces (albeit using reduced fat cream wherever possible) and just adjust my calorie intake accordingly. I find I now eat a…

A lot of people recommend traditional tandoori (dry, without a masala sauce) or anything with a non-cream based sauce. The problem with that is that if you prefer mild curries, it can be hard to find something low fat.

I think this may be an indication that there are other issues in your life that you need to take care of. Ultimately the website is a glorified calculator with a database- there really isn't anything that would cause this, except how you use the information presented. A lot of people think that eating disorders start and…

Wow... knockout figure! You look gorgeous.

I've heard it. Oddly enough I only ever heard it when I was at my thinnest. I prefer to think of it as less of an a****** comment that it sounds. People generally have different preferences on what they find attractive, so I try not to judge myself on just one person's opinion. There are a hundred billion adult websites…

I've never even tried poached chicken. I just thought "meh, can't be bothered with that when I've already planned to stirfry the veg". Life is too short to make that much extra washing up.
