BINGO! We have a winner! Eating a sweet potato plain, nothing other than perhaps a dash of good cinnamon is a treat to me, sweet a satisfying. Eating a baked Russet potato plain, no salt, butter or sour cream, is a chore. It's filling but the taste is very bland. Given a choice I'll take the sweet potato 9 times out of 10.…

You go girl! Great to see somebody else in the prime of life taking good care of themselves. Do get that sunscreen at least SPF 50 or you might as well not use it. Skin cancers are not fun...trust me I learned the hard way. :)

You should be proud...well done! I think you'll find that with MFP the secret is to be consistent and STAY WITHIN your caloric intake goal. Add as much excercise as you like and log that faithfully...just be sure to eat at least half of those "exercise calories" back that day. Sone would say eat them all back...your…

The secret I have learned is NOT to do all those things I did 40 years ago. Or as somebody famous (W C Fields?) once said, "If I knew I would live this long I would have taken better care of myself. :)

Count me in...I'm down 28 lbs after 8 weeks, averaging about 3.5 lbs/wk so I am very happy with my progress so far. Honestly, it's not been that hard to make the changes I needed to make. I understand that it will get harder the less I have remaining to lose, but what the hell, I'll just drop the claoric intake and up the…

Me too...I try not to eat more than half of them back...but I confess...sometimes that ice cream is just soooo hard to resist. :)

Wow! I must be the only surviving "relic" on MFP. All you kids in your 40's better behave and eat your veggies! lol

I removed sugar from my categories and added saturated fat which seemed more useful to me. The sugar limitation was way too low unless you plan on eating sawdust and eggs. Who cares about sugar (other than diabetics) it's calories that matter to me.

I would certainly log the calories burned, but I might want to check a couple of sources before taking fit bit's word for it. It seems to me that if you do something that is not part of your daily routine, say like cleaning the entire house, you should count it. Mowing the lawn counts, why wouldn't house work? To those…

I vary what I eat for breakfast but one of my favorites is: One Morningstar Farms sausage patty, 1/2 cup (equal to two whole eggs) of Eggbeaters (SW style), one slice of delightful wheat bread/toast with roughly 1 & 1/2 teaspoons of Land-O-Lakes Light butter/canola, along with my usual vat of coffee (16 oz. cup). I find it…

Lipton Diet Green tea with citrus...and Michelob Ultra Lime Cactus on occasion. 12 glasses of water a day...minimum. No soda of any kind...no sugary fruit juice. Works for me. :)

Started in April and I've figured out this is pretty fun...and it WORKS!

If I could offer you a thought that I use to keep myself on track: "It's a marathon not a sprint!" You didn't put it all on in a few weeks/months and it won't come off any faster than it went on. I''m Just 8 weeks into MFP but I believe that if you do the things that you should do, consistent with your stated goal, log…
