  • Awesome progress! You are an INSPIRATION!!!
  • Sorry, probably not. I am currently on a generic synthroid product and as long as I take it as directed, get regular blood tests and have my dr visits, I have absolutely no problems. I wouldn't be afraid of the medicine, but that's me and you may have a very good reason for your desire to do it without.
  • I bought a Zumba Fitness set of DVDs for my daughter for Christmas. They are great. But here's the warning. I thought I was buying the same thing at a local box store and when I got home, it was "animated". It's hard to follow the moves on an animated DVD, even though they are the same as on the live workout videos. Just…

  • Feel free to add me, too. I'm older also, 53 yo, but I'm here every day and love to encourage. Good for you doing this now!!!
  • Hi, I don't do insanity, but I do Zumba and have the same philosophy. Move it until you can do it right. Each time I get closer. As far as the calories go, I'm nobody to give advice. Good luck with your crazy workout and do what you enjoy. That seems to be the thing, do what you enjoy because then you'll keep moving.
  • I think you've done the first thing that will allow you success - you've identified your problem. Some folks swear by journaling the "when and where" you feel tempted to overeat. What times of the day, week, month? Identifying these triggers can help us overcome them simply by recognizing that they are emotional/stress…
  • I'm all in for wine! I've been a white drinkers - love those oaky Chards - but I'm developing an appreciation for a good red. Malbec, Zinfandel, Chianti, and others. The challenge with imbibing in the evening is that I also want to snack on salty things after a glass or two. So, I'm limiting, too. Limiting the number of…
  • I don't know what to suggest for your beef, but I like to saute asparagus in a pan with a very little bit of olive oil, and salt, pepper and chopped garlic to taste. Yummy!
  • There's a Clitheral, MN. I think the population is about 7.
  • I eat a lot of leftovers from supper - I know a lot of people don't like this idea but it works for me. Fresh vegetable stir-fry with turkey smoked sausage this morning. Cottage Cheese and leftover green beans yesterday. It sounds crazy, but I get in a serving of veggies or fruit to start the day and it's more satisfying…
  • I make a tortilla soup that is low cal and very filling. I've never watched the sodium so you'll have to judge that for yourself. Cook together until softened in a little olive oil: (all of these are diced about the same size) 1 onion 1 pepper - any color 3 stalks celery 1 cup carrots Add: 1 can Rotel Tomatoes - regular 1…
  • I don't know what most people expect, fultimers, but I expect to be on synthroid the rest of my life. I've got Hashi's and was diagnosed in 2006. I've steadily gone up in dosage since then but am stable now at 175 mg. And best yet, I feel good. I hope you and yaelis feel better soon!
  • I gained 20, 16 and 12 pounds for single babies. But, I was very overweight when I got pregnant. C-sections all of them.
  • I always give the same advice to people getting married. "Put each other first, and love each other best. The rest will fall in place." We're celebrating 30 years this November. Works for me!!!
  • Hi. I wonder, especially after reading the article posted by fun_to_lose, if you have an allergy to some of the things that aren't being digested. I have trouble with taking iron supplements. I've tried multiple kinds and nothing likes to stay in me long enough to do any good. Like you, I don't feel bad until.... If it's…
  • I'm Jean from Indiana. Greetings!
  • Hi Tammy, I'm 52 (love the yrs young!) and I'm doing this getting healthy journey, too. I'm also a midwesterner - Northern Indiana. If you need friends, send a request!
  • Everybody struggles with a different number. I just turned 52 and am enjoying life completely but there have been numbers that "stumped" me! I've learned that every new age offers many possibilities - go out and tackle some new challenge you've always wanted to try. You can do it. The sky is the limit and life is all about…
  • Hi, I'm Jean and I'm 52. Feel free to add me.
  • I know a lot of people would like to be able to do this, but I'm concerned. I "discovered" I had hypothyroidism when my thyroid basically bottomed out and caused my electrolytes to go out of whack. I ended up in the hospital for 6 days and for several of those I didn't know my husband or kids. (the porch light was on but…
  • I bet your closets and dressers are happy, too! Congratulations.
  • Good for you for being true to your needs and your family's needs right now. Churches are funny places. We're supposed to be about being the body of Christ, but too often we are the most sinful ones and we show our "clay feet" to the world. We also don't treat one another very well. I wish it wasn't true, but it often is.…
  • Diagnosed in 2006 with a sky-high TSH. Now I'm on 175 Mcg Synthroid (I can't seem to do the generics) & vitamin D & daily. I've got a great endo who pays attention to my symptoms as well as my numbers. Feel free to add me if you wish.
  • OMG - can you say cramps? But I'm done! Yay!
  • I'll give it a shot!
  • Cheddar rice cakes.
  • Hi Folks, I've not posted to this group, but here goes. No goals for May - a reflection of "those who fail to plan, plan to fail"? I hope not. I've had a little success but I'm hoping to increase that. So, here goes. June Goals: *Continue to walk 6-7 days/week while increasing distance and speed *Include 3 days of Pilates…
