I am partial to oneupbands.com. I bought a couple at a local fair, and they are similar to sweatbands but for some reason they stayed in place a little better.

@mslawny--so impressive that you got on the elliptical after Lower Body Lean Out. WOW! Congrats to RoseTears143 for starting! I had 2 rest days this weekend from exercise because it was soccer tryout weekend and between shuffling my kiddo to a couple of tryouts, there was just the stress and exhaustion of waiting to hear.…

Initially, my husband said he was annoyed with my new-found fitness "thing" because: 1.) I was not eating enough and was cranky, and 2.) I would constantly talk about my workouts. And frankly, I probably was talking a little bit TOO much about it. However, for Mother's Day he got me a power tower, dumbell racks, and a…

Hola--an A day for newbie me: Squats: 70 (5x5) Pendlay Rows: 40 (5x5)--using fixed barbells at the gym, so now it looks like my next A day is (hopefully) the oly bar! Bench: 50 (5x5) Then I finished with 25 minutes doing some bag work/boxing.

Someone who says this and has a happy smile plus isn't afraid to post a pic in a dinosaur towel just doesn't seem psychologically like someone who would have body dysmorphia. I think people are trying to react to your success. I also log in meticulously, but FWIW it's because I am on the petite side and I am still trying…

I did Combat 60 on Saturday, Sunday was my rest day (unless you count all of the sidelines cheering/yelling I did at my son's soccer game), and this morning I did HIIT Power. I felt really great during my workouts on Saturday and this morning!

Thanks! The format seems to be the same as XT but the workouts seem a bit longer/more intense than XT. There are a couple of workouts on XT2 that are "sequels" to XT workouts (Sprawl and Brawl (LOVE), Buns & Guns, etc.). I am also lifting--I originally started with 5 x 5 Stronglifts but it was challenging to see where I…

I am currently doing Tapout XT after having finished one round of LMC. You should absolutely join! I have a selfish interest in wanting to know how you would compare the two.
-
I should add that I have no "pride of idea/authorship" in the existing categories that I log these under. If anyone has better/closer estimates by all means feel free to update! :drinker:

Combat 45/Power Kata is my FAVORITE because of the inclusion of capoeria and Muay Thai moves. The HIIT ones weren't my favorite, but I looked to them as challenges. I am no expert in fitness, but I do think that they are really key to success with this program. So on Monday, it being Memorial Day I knew I needed to expend…

You could definitely pick up a pair of gloves at a sporting goods store--look for light bag gloves. That is what I use because I had them already. BTW, it is recommended NOT to use weighted gloves (see this instructor thread re: use of them in BODYCOMBAT classes): http://www.lesmills.com/Community/forums/thread/49189.aspx…

I think that part of it has to do with the fact that you are getting healthier in spite of having so many challenges in your life (ok, I peeked at your bio and I have to say you rock). You are taking care of YOU, and others--even family members and neighbors--might feel a little threatened because you are doing something…

I always log the workouts in as the following: Power Kata/Combat Live 60/Extreme Cardio Fighter 60/Kick Start 30: Kickboxing (including Turbojam) Power HIIT/Plyo HIIT: Circuit Training Core Attack: Sit-ups (vigorous) I would not be surprised if the above choices over-compensate or under-compensate (e.g., I'm probably…

There are some people with whom you do not and will not see eye-to-eye, and unless it is a close family member or someone for whom you care deeply, limit your exposure because negativity can seep into other aspects of your life. Your husband should hopefully understand this (it may take some time, though, for him to fully…

I work in an office environment during the week, but on weekends sometimes I have been known to work out, bathe/shower, and the put a sports bra back on (I tend to favor the Nike low impact ones for this). They give me a comfortable "lift" and there are no wires to dig into my ribcage. Also these particular ones have…

In terms of numbers results, I lost 10 lbs, 3 inches off of my waist and 2 inches off of my hips, and 2 inches off of my chest (my poor ta-tas! :ohwell: ). However, bear in mind that I am 5'1" and was 111 lbs when I started. I am starting to lift heavy, so am expecting some weight back in the form of muscle. But I want to…

Good luck! I had my LMC graduation 2 days after Mother's Day. You will LOVE it!
-
Yeah, I am NOT going to put tape over my nips. I bought about 4 sports bras with padding. I tried them on in a very cold dressing room just to be sure.

Holy cow! Awesome!

You might like interval training (either in classes or get a routine from a YouTube channel)--they would have a similar tempo to a soccer game (high energy bursts followed by active rest). Also, your quads and hamstrings from playing will probably help you tremendously when you lift. I love the Stronglifts 5 x 5 for Women…

I asked for exercise equipment for Mother's Day. And when I saw what my hubby lovingly purchased and set up, I was like "Do I get a Power Rack too?"

It's actually a treadmill that's shaped like a "curve" as opposed to the gym under the same name--but I would say go with an HRM to track just to make sure. They use Woodway Curves at my son's sports conditioning place and the kids love them.

Thanks! Funny--I do the DVD version of BODYCOMBAT at home. The schedule is probably really similar to your BODYCOMBAT schedule in that the martial arts portions are 3 times a week (with the other 3 being interval training). Looks like you alternate during the week and double up on Saturday. I may have to do the same!

I am week 8 of LMC. I've never done Insanity, but I have never heard of a person "dreading" an LMC workout (the HIIT ones are intense, but they are enjoyable). I am not sure that the overall intensity level is the same as Insanity, but I do know that you can easily scale up the intensity by putting more effort into…

Sort of annoying and awesome at the same time, but...I have no dress pants left to wear. Sure, I have 5 pairs hanging in my closet, but I tried on pair after pair this morning. One just fell straight down from my waist and the others are too loose.

Hi there! I am a 5'1" and have gone down from 110 to 103 since I started implementing nutrition changes and switching up my workout. I think I started around mid-March. I have many, many thoughts on this that I'll post later once I actually get them together, but feel free to add me if you'd like. FYI, I work out 6 days…

Love this. Also, when you lose the number of pounds you want to lose, get that number stamped on a metal disc and put it on a bracelet.
-
Ah, I am on Week 8, but please add me because I plan on doing either a second round or a Tapout XT/LMC hybrid after I rest for a bit. I can say that there was never a workout that I "dreaded"--the HIIT ones were the more challenging ones for me but even those were fun. For those that have done Insanity, the level of…

First time check in for me: Pendlay Rows: 35 lbs* (5x5) Squat: 60 lbs (5x5) Benchpress: 45 lbs (5x5)* I didn't have a lot of time in the gym because I was sandwiching my lifts at our corporate gym because I got a late start and then had a video conference afterwards, so I am a little bummed. I am also bummed about the fact…

I really, really like this topic. I DO still have guilt if I go close to or over my goal calorie intake, like I am going to wake up in the morning and the fat that I have lost recently will have all of a sudden come back and have deposited itself on my arms and belly. Whether or not it comes from my own internal issues…
