I lost 120 pounds (54Kg). My personal success was due to diet and exercise. I use MFP to handle the diet, my treadmill handles my exercise tracking, and I just add it to MFP for total calorie totals. I'm not what your approach is, if it's just diet or diet and exercise. In either case what helped for me was going 'all in'.…

Very nice, Congrats!!! I've been able to get off of high blood pressure and cholesterol medication. I just had my cholesterol checked this week and it's 153. No more meds. I didn't have heart issues yet, but I'm certain I'm in much less danger.

Hi, My journey started in February of 2013. In the past 4 months I've went from 368 to now what is 247. I did this through diet and exercise. I try to hit th treadmill mostly doing about 2.75 miles on it in 30 minutes. I try to work out 6 times per week. I'm almost 51 years old and feeling great. It's getting tougher as I…

This is a humorous thread. Here's a couple from me: The bones in my butt get sore from sitting too long on hard chairs. Likewise, I find the bones in my shoulder also are sensitive to bumps I have changed from being my wife's "hot water bottle" to keep her warm in bed, to "your skin is cold"

WOW, what in inspiration! great job!

It's all up to you and your state of mind. I like the old adage to set the stage - How does one person eat an elephant? (One bite at a time). It's important to realize that even today you are much better off then you were before losing 5 lbs. When you get to 10 lbs, celebrate that accomplishment! This is a case to…

It's hard to say without knowing how much you have to lose. I started my new life last February 19th, which was 10 weeks before my 50th birthday. I'm sure a doctor would say I should lose about >150 pounds to get to my ideal weight, I'm looking to get to about 130 pounds lost. SO I HAD PLENTY TO LOSE! After 10 weeks, on my…

Nice job! Your and my path are pretty similar, I'm A LOT older and a little bit taller, and I do more exercise so I can focus a little less on diet. I share many of your DO's and Dont's and my *kitten* gets sore often too. I need to go shopping for round 3 of clothing that fits. And my wife seriously thinks I need a new…

AWESOME! It's great that you are finding milestones and celebrating them when you achieve them!
-
Nice Job! While it's taking me longer to lose my weight, and I started at a higher starting point, you have the right answers - diet and exercise.
-
Nice job, you should be very proud.

I just had a NSV of having to adjust my ticker because I hit my original goal of 103 pounds lost, and adjusted now to 123 pounds as the goal.

Excellent to read, thanks for sharing. My favorite two: Jim, if you are not careful you're going to lose so much weight you'll fall through that hole in your sock From a neighbor at a property I own, who I have only met a few times, and it's been over a year... Jim, I have to apologize, it took me awhile to figure out who…

Welcome to the century club! I hit 100 pounds two weeks ago, hit my goal last week, now time to get another 20-30 pounds off before I say good enough. And you're a 'double D' fan to boot. Go Pack Go!
-
Nice work! That's been a fast progression, you are obviously working very hard and very focused. Keep it up. BTW, as a Packer fan that one picture almost made me hurl (with the Bears sweatshirt). Just kidding, you beat us a couple weeks ago, I was at the game and so sad. :-(

A two month old horse! We have horses and that REALLY puts it in perspective.

Congrats, celebrate the milestones, they help with the motivation. I'm celebrating a big one today! I found I hit a plateau right as I got below 300, it took awhile to see the scale move again, but now I'm very comfortably away from that milestone. Keep up the great work!

Do you workout in the morning or evening? I've found I have to do the morning, or I never find time. My routine is set, I get up, make coffee, let the dogs out, and go get on the treadmill. I do it every day, giving myself 1 day off on the weekend. It is now a habit. I admit sometimes I don't feel like it, and in those…

Thanks! I can confess now, I was 368 pounds at the start. I'm 6 feet tall, and have a big frame, even when I get to "skinny" I won't be a small person. I can feel every rib on my rib cage at my current weight, but still have belly fat that needs to go. As I mentioned in high school I was about 230 as captain of the…

I weighed in this morning, (instead of my usual Friday) because I reached 100 pounds lost. I love seeing my tracker in my signature!

In reading your story I have to say that I can tell you are a beautiful person no matter where you are in your fitness challenge. I'm sure your husband sees that in you every day and so did your grandpa. Thank you for sharing and best wishes to you.

I'm posting today just so I can see my tracker at 100 pounds lost!!

First, congratulations!! This is a great problem to have. I just hit 100 pounds lost today, and have went through the same issue. My wife could write a book on finding deals in thrift stores. For those that think it's 'creepy' wearing someone else's clothes, you should realize that many of the thrift stores (Goodwill…

Good for you! I don't use the formal C25K, but I'm proud to say I RAN 5K (ran the whole way, no walking) on Saturday and did it in 28:40. When I started in February I could only walk for 20 minutes.
-
Very nice progress. I enjoy your reward system. I think it's good to treat yourself. I'm getting close to 100 pounds lost. My wife and I are going to Vegas in December to celebrate.
-
Congrats! Excellent story with lots of good pointers for others.

Excellent!! I too have come off of high blood pressure medication first, and recently now am off of cholesterol medication as well. Only meds I take are vitamins now!

My profile picture has my face change, not sharing the whole profile just yet.

Weight is my number 1 focus item, because I'm trying to lose a bunch. I weigh myself officially every Friday morning. Some more important numbers in my mind is my cholesterol is down to 126 (and I'm now completely off medication), my blood pressure is 130/70 (and am now completely off of medication). I also am satisfied…
