I started running in January and am sticking to my golden rule of run 3 days a week. Off days are important when you're beginning. I pushed myself too hard in March this year, signed up for a 100 mile challenge for the month of March, which had me running a few miles every day, and I blew out my left calf. So instead of…

I've done a couple, I usually only do the ones where 90%+ of the proceeds actually go to the charity, otherwise I prefer local organized races. There's a facebook community for Virtuals, beware though, there are tons of them! https://www.facebook.com/groups/321617347930095/

I started with couch25k but found I got bored with it, so I just started doing what I could do. Run til' I felt dead, walked a minute to recover, and then took off again. Part or being a runner is teaching your brain to be comfortable with being uncomfortable!

I'm in for 50! (Been running since January, down from 18 min miles to 12!!) Also would love to have more running buddies, so any fellow runners feel free to add me, it keeps me pushing =)

Feel free to add me! I've been running since January. Have worked myself down from an 18 minute mile to a steady 12 ! Couch25K is a good place to start!

I always save 100 calories for an "end of the day craving". Sometimes it's for chocolate, sometimes it's for something cheesy. I keep Milkduds, Chocolate Pudding Cups, and Cheezits on hand and allow myself to have a taste when I feel like I really need it. Depriving yourself of something you really want is not a diet to…

Yay, hubby got me the 220 for my Birthday! So far I love it. It's about 1/2 off on the indoor track, but I read where I need to calibrate it outdoors a few times via GPS to fix that. With all of this snow .... that's a bit difficult right now. Would much rather be able to run than be laid up with a broken ankle, so, the…

I'm with everyone else, some days when I look in the mirror I see that I'm smaller, other days when I look I still see a busted can of biscuits. I was 226 when I started all of this, I really didn't start to see a difference in myself until I hit about 180, but everyone else noticed before that. I'm at 165 now, 35 more to…

Thanks for the input everyone, much appreciated! I think I've narrowed it down to which one the hubs can get me for my birthday in a few weeks ;) LOL

Heya gang! Feel free to FR me as well, I LOVE the running community, so any fellow runners are always a happy welcome on my Newsfeed! You'll see in my profile that I have a whole slew of runs added to my 2015 calendar. Looking forward to the year!

Kudos to you for being able to take it to the treadmill, the treadmill drives me insane, I just can't do it! It's outside or nothin', so here in snowy WV, I've just learned to deal with it. I thought about buying some YakTrax myself, but after reading some reviews, decided against it. Mostly because people say they can…

Little late to the party, but, hey! LOL 2014 ... I really just started running at the end. I'd say I probably got 100 miles in. 2015 I'm taking it seriously. The entire first half of 2015 is full of 5K sign-ups. I also went ahead and booked a half marathon for November, because I know I can do it. Just one of those go…

My first ever 5K this morning: 30:10 Time can only get better from here!

It wasn't too shabby! I liked it. Here's to improving my time for next year!

Hi, everyone! I'm Amy. Running my first 5k tomorrow. It's not exactly a long distance, but you have to start somewhere! I'd like for my miles to only go up from there. Looking for some motivated running buddies who use MFP on a daily basis. Feel free to add me, it keeps me going =)

I work at a greenhouse, it's flowers all day for this child!

I never thought I'd like weights either, I thought it would be boring. So I opted to start doing a Kettlebell workout, because it's weights/cardio .... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Perhaps that would be something you might want to look into?

Way to get your life back, honey! Bravo! Such a marvelous job!

She looks disgusting. Where did the muscle tone in her arms go ?!?!?!?!?! There's absolutely no way she went home and did it healthy. She HAD to have starved herself. You don't just lose months of muscle tone thanks to training on the ranch within a couple weeks like that. Not without seriously destroying yourself. I was…

Periods. NO EXCUSES! Work out as if nothing is going on!
-
Mine keep growing ... I think it's from the synthetic hormones though.

Great job! I was so excited to get out of the obese category and into the over-weight category. Here's to the normal category coming sometime soon! You look great, girl!

Women using TOM as a means of not being about to diet is just an EXCUSE! I bloat, and I crave during that time as well, but if you don't keep crap in the house to eat, you can't eat crap! And NO birth control does nothing. I spent 28 years of my life without a TOM (Yep, didn't start my TOM til' 28 and went on BC.) It made…

Way to go!
