Pushing on. I was determined to get back to 'real' exercise today (Started the new year sick, ugh). Ended up inviting a friend to join me, but he wasn't prepared for running, so we just walked for an hour... After I left him at the car, I did a lap on the stairs (300). I had planned on more but with cold legs and numb feet…

Mission Peak! That one is a pain. Way to go!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband :( Talk to your doctor...grains effect different people differently. I have a friend who tried going gluten free, but finds she does better having a little bit. I think I'm in this camp a bit too..I'm sure I'd get over the 'carb addiction' if I really cut them out completely…

I'm your height (I usually claim 5'2 hah). Highest weight I think I breached 150 in high school, weight starting on MFP was 132. I'm now at 121.5 with a current goal of 118...and will see what happens when I get there. (Definitely looks like I have more than 3.5 pounds to lose, IMO). Add me if you like!

5'2, currently 121.5. Would like to get stable below 120 and see what numbers in that range look like on me! (My past goal was 125 and never thought I'd hit it..so not sure what my end goal really is now lol). I'd like to lose at the waist as well. 29.5 this morning.

I'm in CA but you can add me if you want :D

Try to focus less on what your body looks like (and especially what number a scale shows) and more on what your body can DO! Our bodies are awesome and help us do so many things! Fitness isn't just about making our body look a certain way, it's about honoring ourselves and appreciating all it gives us. I have legs, so I…

Thanks for answering a personal question! Can't tell it in any of your after pics! I've heard things about cocoa butter supposed to help but I am personally skeptical it does any visible good. I'm glad you're willing to write about it..could help 'soften the blow' for people who don't think to expect it. I love that you…

Very awesome! I love running, it truly is a life changer. At some point I want to start a running therapy group to help people make the shift to "I CAN!" and grow their self esteem! How did you make the shift into running after the knee injury/surgery stuff? It sounds like you don't have problems with it anymore? Also,…

I'm interested...how do we keep up with each other etc?

Congratulations! You look amazing! WELL DONE sticking to MFP for 365!

Someone else mentioned challenges, and I'll support that suggestion as well. I got into a "30 day squat challenge" a friend started with a secret Facebook group. This was at a time my routine was changing and it was easy to lose sight of things altogether, but I could easily talk myself into doing "just 5 minutes" of a…

Well, what is the "plan"? Keeping sight of the goal helps, yes. Interim goals help (partner decided we'd go to Hawaii when he lost 10 pounds). Doing it with friends also helps (partner and I will take turns pushing each other to get out of bed in the morning to get out and run). Set up a routine, and determine what works…

You're probably plateauing. Generally speaking, the more you have to lose, the easier it is to lose. If you're getting close to your ideal/goal weight, yes, it gets harder. Also, I've noticed that can be a pattern regardless- if you've been losing weight for a while, your body may be adjusting to the new metabolism, so it…

Where do pants fit tight? Try to tone that area. Running is great, google the squat challenge (my bf loves when I do that, apparently the results are noticeable). I like side lunges and donkey kicks too.

Sweets are addictive. I used to suck on a bottle of juice to help the cravings when I was fasting. (Not actually taking in much juice, just kinda sucking on the plastic that had gotten wet by it..) I've been told that carrots are a perfect sugar and will make cravings for sweets go away. In general, once you break it,…

I don't drink much soda to begin with. Maybe with the occasional mixed drink is about all..we were never allowed more than one can, only on the weekends, when I was a kid. And especially with calorie counting...those 120 I can't spare, I'd rather have food! One thing that might help - buy some seltzer water and mix it with…

Eating only 1200 calories a day is usually hard for me (and then it yells at me if I don't eat at least 1200..can't win..) So I naturally eat back SOME of the calories, because I wouldn't be able to continue on this path if it meant always feeling deprived. I often negotiate with myself. Craving froyo? Make sure I run to…

Breakfasts of cottage cheese and fruit, oatmeal, or a bagel with light cream cheese and tomato... rarely more than 300 cals. Lunches of PBJ, lentil or cous cous salad, or leftovers from last night's dinner..usually around 400. My dinners are larger, probably 700-800 calories, so I average around 1200 after the exercise…
