I'm not a success story yet but I've been making progress. I started in November after being diagnosed with high blood pressure. I cut back on my coffee drastically and started eating a reduced sodium diet. By December I was on 3 different blood pressure meds. I lost 10 lbs primarily from changind my eating and coffee…

For some people. If it's still that low and is not normal for you then call your doctor.

Wow you're doing awesome!! Great dedication!

Congrats and Happy Birthday!!

^^ This. I personally am sodium sensitive and control my blood pressure with diet and exercise, but many people with HTN can't do the same. Follow your doctors advise and increase your sodium. Also, don't increase your fluid intake like another poster suggested unless your cardiologist tells you to :/

LMAO!!!!!

Being a shift worker myself, I'm willing to bet that the article has more to do with sleep deprivation than it has to do with food.
-
Haha you sound like me! Single mom working full time and overtime shifts living on coffee and cigarettes. I've cut the coffee back A LOT! Now for the cigarettes :/

PMS can definitely do it. I'll have 3 good weeks then I ignore the scale of the 4th week :). Keep pushing forward and you'll probably see changes next week. Edit:looked at your diary. Increase your calories. I found that TDEE-x% is much easier to follow than trying to change my goals every day based on exercise.

I'm 43 and peri. I've found that good eating and exercise makes a tremendous difference. I've lost 11 lbs since 5/31/13. I've also found that good fluid intake is really helping my skin and hair. I don't worry about it as much on days I eat lots of fruits and veggies but on days I don't, I try to increase my water…

I had a hard time when I started on MFP. I was not eating a lot and was drinking my calories (Mmmm Starbucks). My doctor made me decrease my coffee intake and that reduced my calories. I found that slowly bumping my calories up was the easiest way. Eat high calorie foods like nuts, avocados and other proteins. This isn't a…

Don't be afraid of food. Food is what fuels you so you can exercise and have that body you want. Not eating is going to make you tired and look sick. Is that the image you have of what you want to look like? Not to mention it's much harder to get to that goal weight when you're starving because you'll either quit from…

When I stalled I found it to be caused by my calories being to low. I've been increasing my calories and now I'm dropping weight to fast. Guess it's time to increase them again :) Part of that is probably due to me trying to be more active on a daily basis too.

Take measurements. Are your clothes fitting better? If you can see the changes then you're probably losing fat.

Some easy things for days you don't feel like cooking: Peanut butter and toast with some fruit makes a great breakfast. I have an egg poacher so that's a quick and easy way to make eggs for breakfast when I don't feel like standing at the stove. Also, making an omelette is an easy way to get more veggies in. Cottage cheese…

I love making black bean chicken chili. I've used them in salads with guacamole and skipped the salad dressing. That works great.
-
Wow!!! Congrats on your success and dedication!! Your smile in the after pic is priceless!

Don't feel bad about eating. I ate an entire pint of chocolate peanut butter ice cream one day last week and still lost 2 lbs. I would recommend not doing that and actually eating in moderation but... Anything is OK as long as you have no medical condition barring you from enjoying it and you eat in moderation.

I didn't gain any weight after mine. Many changes can be related to the birth control that you use prior to the tubal. They recommend that you stop using birth control prior to a tubal to see how your body will react. I wasn't on birth control prior to and saw no changes in my cycle.

Total Daily Energy Expenditure There are calculators to help you determine yours. It's an estimate of what you burn daily. You'll need to tinker with the numbers once you start losing weight if you're losing a different amount than you were aiming for. I find it much easier to do it that way but everyone is different on…

I found that trying to eat back the exercise calories and how much to eat back etc very frustrating! Switching to TDEE-x% has made things much easier and the weight is coming off. Some days I'm not as hungry and I eat less, other days I may go over my calories, but I look at the weekly average more than the daily…

I would make a deal with her that you will follow your doctors recommendations and take her to the appointment. BTW M GO BLUE....I'm originally from right down the road from you in GB.

I guessed mine correctly also.

We eat the same meal. I may make my boys an extra side depending on the meal.

I don't know why it would be a hindrance but it's not a requirement. As long as you're urine isn't dark then you're getting enough water. Drink when you're thirsty and don't worry about some required minimum number....it doesn't exist.

Looking at your diary and the amount you've been averaging in calories along with your weight loss, you look fine. You'll want to slow the weight loss down as you progress but for now 2-3 lbs a week should be OK. You may want to average out your calories for a week or two to determine an average daily caloric intake. Then…

How much weight are you losing per week on average
