I had great success coming off 3 BP meds by exercising, but mostly by increasing my potassium intake and lowering my sodium. I was using a 2:1 ratio with a good outcome. When I brought my potassium/ sodium ratio to 3:1 it was unbelievable! My BP went down to about 110/68 without meds. I've been off this site for awhile and…

You sound like you have already made up your mind that you don't want to go and are now coming up with excuses that you want people here to validate for you. I have yet to go to a seafood restaurant that did not have veggies, salads and/or baked potatoes. I'm sure there are items on the menu that you could eat.

What is the difference between eating ice cream before a workout, just after a workout or later in the day?
-
Congrats on your success and your pregnancy!! You look great!

My previous post already stated it was low for anyone 5'4. Why are you trying to help a person get to an unhealthy weight? Have you even looked at his profile picture? Does he look like he needs to lose 40 lbs?
-
Even if he's skinny fat it doesn't mean his goal weight should be 100 lbs. That's underweight for anyone, male or female.
-
Congrats!! Sounds fun...not really, sounds scary!
-
Even at 5'4, 100 lbs is a very unhealthy weight for anyone! You don't need to eat at a calorie deficit. 140 lbs is probably about where you should be in terms of weight.

Mmmm....ice cream! My son and I went on a 10 mile trail ride this weekend and then went to Dairy Queen. I didn't know this wasn't allowed *sarcasm*

I'm getting ready to start training for a 28 mile charity hike. Can that count as my charitable contribution? I also volunteer with an organization that does presentations at high schools regarding distracted driving. I'm too poor to give money but I've got time :)

I always check before I add items to my diary. Products change and people make mistakes.

When I started I was the same way. It was difficult to eat all my calories. I had been drinking my calories thru lots and lots of coffee drinks. My doctor advised to cut back on the coffee so that left me at a large deficit. I lost 10 lbs quickly after that but then stalled. The last two months I've been working diligently…

Congrats! I can't wait to do the same later this year
-
I'm on my cell so I hope this works. November 2012 when I started Yesterday...22 lbs down Edit I don't know why that didn't work
-
That's great that you found what works for you, but don't try and dictate what type of exercise and macros others should do. Not everyone enjoys the same thing. Some of us actually ENJOY our steady state cardio.
-
Great job! I've been working on increasing mine slowly. It has made a huge difference! I'm going to bump up to 1700 next week.
-
I think it really comes down to preference. Some enjoy using the MFP model of eating back your calories. I personally find it easier to have a set calorie amount. I agree with the other poster not to eat at a 20% deficit since you are close to goal. I'm slowly trying toincrease to TDEE-10%. ETA recalculate your TDEE.…

My mom's had type 2 diabetes for over 30 years. She has always controlled it with diet and exercise. There was a period of about 1 year that she took Metformin but that was after she had back surgery. Have your a1c checked. It's not the end of the world. It's just a matter of learning how to eat. She still enjoys chocolate…

I slowly increased mine. Try increasing 100cals/day for a week and do that every week until you reach your goal. Don't eat diet foods. Replace low fat with full fat products. Add avocados, nuts, beans and other calorie dense foods. I switched to TDEE method because it feels less complicated. I'm still learning how to eat…

Mmmm...I love chocolate peanut butter ice cream. Some days I'll eat a pint of it. If I could control how much I ate I would have it every day. But I love it so much that I eat to much of it. I have extra calories from yesterday so will be taking my son out for ice cream tonight :)
