You came to the right place for motivation and support. You're right.... it's not always about what you weigh, but how you feel. Being in better health as a result of moving more is definitely a good thing !!

Keep in mind... calories burned = energy burned. If your body is getting used to the exercise, it may burn less because some of the muscles being used are toning (a good thing). You could continue doing what you're doing and add a little something to offset the change. Perhaps, try an exercise or two that require different…

1 cup of Cheerios in a little soy milk works for me.... seems like it takes no time to digest.

This is a great place to keep track of things and there are lots of good people to help support and share their stories.

From what I've read in several different publications, men can indeed naturally lose weight faster due to muscle density. The more dense your overall muscle state, the more calories are burned.... even at rest. This is due to our bodies trying to fuel the muscles to maintain their structure. Yes, it does link us back to…

Great article... I prefer to eat a couple of hours prior to exercise, but I guess we each have to find what works best for us.

I use http://www.walkjogrun.net You can plot your course, plug in a time that it takes to complete the course and it'll do the math for you. If you alter the time taken, it will adjust the speed for you. You'll get a calorie burn number that even accounts for changes in incline throughout your trek. Hope this helps...

I'm over every day, too........... shouldn't be a problem. I have read that you can be at 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight and still be fine.

I've been using Wii Active since the first of the year along with brisk walking, a healthier than before diet and a tad of Wii Fit Plus sprinkled in. If you add me as a friend, the numbers you'll see me post are a combination of my using a preset dance aerobics session, Wii Active 30-Day Challenge, the brisk walk and some…

This journey is just like any other.... there will be uphills and there will be downhills along the way. We all have strong days and we all have weak days, so it's okay to have challenges. I didn't gain weight overnite and I'm not gonna lose it overnite has been on my mind since i started this journey, but I also realize…

2000 steps per mile is a standard I've seen on several sites and in books. I would guess that would be 3 miles, unless the steps were small.

I've read that your fat burning heart rate zone is somewhere between 60-70% of your maximum heart rate. So, I guess that number would vary for each of us. Subtracting your age from 220 should roughly give you your maximum heart rate. Hope this helps...

I'm not sure that there's really a best one, but I would lean toward anything in gelcap, powder or liquid form. The binders in many pills can lead to minimizing the breakdown, which could limit the amount of absorption.

We haven't tried the Kinect.... I can see where not holding a remote would be handy. We have been using Wii Active since the beginning of the year.... it will definitely put you thru your paces. We also have Wii Fit Plus... it's fun, but not nearly as demanding. The Yoga is good, though. Lost 20 lbs. so far using Wii…
