There's no reason to keep your carbs low if you're counting calories. The whole point of low-carb diets is that they help control your appetite. It confounds me that there are so many "specialty" diets among the MFP community.

No, there is no minimum calorie amount that you need to eat, as long as you're getting a decent amount of protein. I'm 5'8" with a muscular build, and I'm pretty lean and love how I look when I'm about 140. 135 was great too but very difficult for me to maintain and not really worth the lifestyle modifications that went along with it. I look pretty decent around 145.
