piece of bacon on a stick...or a hot dog, your choice. Bacon wrapped/cream cheese stuffed jalapenos are good over a fire if you have a grate or something to cook them on. One of those cage things might work too, cooking basket, whatever. If you are looking for something sweet, no idea.

Baked egg over homemade creamed peas (made by reducing heavy cream), topped with bacon, gruyere, fresh thyme... it was a craving I made happen this past weekend, we both loved it appx 400 cal, 36g fat, 4g carb, 16g protein per serving

I had a craving for scrambled eggs topped w/ creamed peas the other day...thinking about it all week evolved into this delicious creation: Baked egg over homemade creamed peas, topped with bacon, gruyere & fresh thyme. appx 400 cal, 36g fat, 4g carb, 16g protein. would be goo over creamed spinach as well, although I've…

unconventional, but eliminates arguability.

this is great to know, thx!

I'm in the same boat, pretty much dinner only. I hate the way I feel if I have lunch, sitting at a desk all day. I generally only eat breakfast on weekends because I tend to sleep in (of course some would call that "lunch"). When I get up early for work, I don't have time or energy to choke anything down, it's not…

I haven't noticed mine better or worse, over the past 6 years of this lifestyle. That being said, I lock myself up for everyone's safety.

go w/ romano/parm instead of mozzarella, if an option

I love the plain rinds dipped in french onion dip! I pick them up at a local dollar store, most grocers around me (NE OH) don't have them. Great for a quick satisfying snack. They are good splashed with hot sauce, like tabasco or red hot, as well.

Good job!

this & up your fat intake during that time

Nice! I haven't made them, but I've always meant to try it...now I see I'm going to have to thanks!

I've heard this is pretty awesome. I like cracked black pepper/parm combo

I DO WHAT I WANT. & it's always tequila

Fresh herb shirred eggs w/a side of bacon for dipping! Used to make this more often when we had a garden...pretty sure it will be breakfast again soon 1tb heavy cream, 1/2 tb butter in gratin dish...broil couple minutes til bubbly, quickly pour in eggs (2), top w/ herbs, parm, s&p. Broil 5-6 min til whites are set. We used…

oh man, sorry to hear about the bacon lol Dragonwolf is right though, they tend to not stick once they get cooking. I slice my peppers lengthwise in half & spread the cream cheese inside, then take about a half slice of bacon & wrap around to cover (one layer of bacon, not too thick). I heat my grill on high (I have three…

oh, I thought you were making a smoothie out of it ;) I've had success in cooking thinner cuts right from the freezer like a t-bone, couple minutes on each side...depends on the doneness you prefer too. I tend to grill at a very high temp, to try to retain as much moisture as I can, but not sure I'd do a thick cut steak…

the octopus sounds great

Welcome! I've only used it a couple times and don't really have an opinion on flavor. I bought mine at a high end butcher shop that happened to have some specialty spices on the counter. It's a jar w/ individual mini jars inside...I paid $14.99 a few years back. Penzeys is a good source if you don't have any local…

Sure! The cod recipe is from Bon Appetit: cod poached in tomato saffron broth I didn't deviate from this recipe, it was perfect. I bought one big cod filet & cut into 5 even chunks. I used dry vermouth because I had it on hand, I also used San Marzano tomatoes. It was restaurant-worthy, damn good. I've had a jar of saffron…

cooking low & slow is the key, don't be in a hurry! I agree that they are very good plain as well, still need a pinch of salt for me to balance the sweetness.

I use this frittata recipe as my base. It's a solid recipe. I sauté what needs to be first & then pour my eggs over, once they start setting I'll scatter my cheese over & then toss under the broiler to finish. I change up ingredients depending on what sauce/toppings I use: broccoli, cauliflower, artichoke, tomato, garlic,…

filet mignon benedict over spinach/bacon stuffed portobellos & topped w/ bernaise... chili cheese omelette, make your own chili so you know what's in it... baked zucchini fries, coated in egg/parm w/ doctored-up ranch to dip... bacon/cado/cheese omelette...

Stick to plan as best you can. It might increase your appetite, but the last time I was on it, I got through w/ no damage by sticking to plan & ignoring cravings. You might get crabby in the process, steroids are notorious for that as well. I didn't really notice any water retention any worse than certain times of the…

YES!! They work perfectly for me & it's a nice treat every now & then 1 med over-ripe banana mashed 1 jumbo egg - just beaten with a fork (ok, I added a pinch of salt & 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract & a pinch of baking powder) Mash banana. Mix together. Spray pan w/ non-stick spray. Over med-low heat, ladle small-med cakes…

I've been making "tacos" lately from a slice of provolone, capicola, and artichoke/red pepper/olive antipasto salad in oil...fold it like a taco. OMG good, I splash it w/ red wine vinegar when I'm craving a sub. I used to make all kinds of frittatas too...but I'm not an egg fan, my partner is. I made a killer cod poached…

always lasts for a couple weeks with me when I get back into it more strict, but then goes away...or not nearly as strong

cold leftover prime rib for breakfast is pretty rad

For me...the thing with fiber, if I don't know or am not convinced it will "pass-through", I'd rather just count it. Removes guesswork. It all makes sense though.

eggs make me gaggy after a while. I'm on a kick right now w/ fluffy scrambled eggs & a bit of ketchup to dip them in...I'm going to take advantage of the craving until I get gaggy again.
