  • I notice when school ends that I always want to eat! I think a huge part of that is getting out of your normal routine. It might help to start a new routine. Eat at the same times everyday with similar foods and maybe you can train your body to follow that routine. I think a lot of it is habit and getting used to when to…

  • I look at it as this...we all have those "bad" days. As long as they are only happening once in a while, you just get back up and do better the next day. We're all human and make mistakes, but the only "fatal" mistake is doing it day after day. So chin up and you'll do better tomorrow!
  • Stationary bikes burn a lot less calories than other cardio machines. You aren't working as much of your body. You're sitting, so unlike stair machines, elliptical, treadmills, etc, you aren't holding your own body weight. You're only working your legs and a tiny bit of core and you are going against the machine only, not…

  • The gym I belong to did a fitness/weight loss challenge and gave out a flyer with the amount of calories each activity burns. I can tell you lifting weights depends on the intensity you go at. If you lift for 30 minutes with 40 seconds between sets and weigh 150 lbs, you will burn about 382 calories. The same person…
  • You need to be very careful with diet pills. They can give you instant results but really screw up your metabolism for the future making it even harder to lose weight. I wouldn't advise them unless you talk to a doctor or nutritionist.
  • Reminder to those of you in the midwest...following our nice snowstorm, we've got some calorie burning opportunities! Shoveling snow burns about 292 calories in 30 minutes for a person weighing 150 lbs.
  • Now I'm so confused. I never had a thought about the amount of calories mfp gave me. But I went to the link listed above and the calories they gave me was way different. What is right?
  • If you're craving sweets, try this: Cake Mix Cookies 1 box of any type of cake mix (I use good ol' chocolate) 0.5 cup unsweetened applesauce 4 oz egg substitute (like egg beaters) Mix, spoon in tbsps onto cookie pan, and cook at 375 degrees for about 12 min They are awesome...just be sure to limit yourself to one or two…
