  • I was thinking once I'm on maintenance, I would do Paleo as a lifestyle. I've been doing a lot of research lately. How did you find the Paleo diet. I'm not sure I can give up my heavy cream though. I am trying to get my mother on Paleo though.
  • Beautifully said. Ditto
  • Saturday and Sunday I had pretty heavy workouts. Legs is my hardest day. I was able to increase the weights for all my exercises. Let's see 22 Days in. We Have 68 more to go. Man could I be a size almost 8 by then.....I'm not going to worry about.
  • Size 6 will do it for me. Right now I'm a 10 I discovered last week. Just purchased a size 10 thinking I would be losing to fit it but I sent it back because it fit perfectly and so I was thinking, should I buy size 8's? I've been buying clothes for my new body. Just bought my first small ponte leggings. Can't fit them…
  • People use to observe that about me in the gym. They'd say why don't you sweat. I can tell you workout hard. A trainer asked me if I drank water. Well, I didn't drink water. As soon as I started drinking water, I started sweating. But I also have noticed, the more in shape I become, the less I sweat. But sweating is the…
  • I feel ya. I started out thinking 10lbs a month were going to just drop off of me, after all, I've always been able to lose weight fast. I'm not even getting 4 lbs a month. And, if you, or anyone else for that matter, can learn from others mistakes, I have found from calorie deprivation that what happens is "NEW" fat cells…
  • Yesterday I did my HIIT workout while fasting. Meaning before ate breakfast. Just had my bulletproof coffee. Used the treadmill for a 30 minute walk/sprint 3:1. 3 minutes walking at 3.0 mph, 1 minute sprint at 5.0 mph. Whew. It was rough and on an incline of 3. So, looking forward to getting stronger and increasing my…
  • I'm still in the challenge. Working diligently with logging and exercise. I can see really results my body, especially from my workouts. I have not been weighing myself because it's not good for my head. But I plan on weighing in next weekend. I'm doing Carb Nite Solution and the last time I weighed in, I'd lost .5 lbs the…
  • Yeah the verdict's in. Needs Attention!
  • Thats if you search for it on Google. Anything I prepare that does not come with a nutrition label with all the calories, fat, carbs, protein, I search for on the internet. I understand that Calorieking.com has great nutrition info for just about anything. I search for carbs in an onion or calories in a tablespoon of…
  • It's something you really have to dive into. Atkins site is a good start. I am doing the low carb lifestyle right now. I have done it quite successfully in the past (like 10 years ago). I lost all the weight I wanted. This time though I'm having a sluggish start because of hidden carbs in food. Really learn what is in the…

  • The calorie deficit makes sense. You really have to know your body. Just be careful though because you can trigger an insulin spike which can in turn trigger cravings, which in turn can create new fat cells. I wouldn't do it on a regular basis. Occasionally is fine. But you might want to read up on the affects of spiking…
  • OK, here we go. SW: 201.6 lb. Measurements: Neck: 13.3" Waist: 36 " Hips: 48.5" Bust: 39" Calves: 18" Biceps: 14" Thigh: 29"
  • Hitting the home gym today for 40-60min cardio and training chest. I'm going to be trying something new, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) to get some fat burning jump started. Have to find where to post stats.
  • I just made an important discovery about my diet which could be the reason I haven't been losing. I'm a low carber and doing the Carb Nite Solution. I've discovered some hidden carbs in my daily intake and it's got me off. I have to give up my Glaceau Water Zero, which turns out not to be zero and discovered eggs have…
  • I do my cardio using my elliptical, treadmill and workout videos. I seem to do best every other day. For weight training I usually train just one muscle group in a day on my Life Fitness gym. When I train my legs (which is the biggest and hardest), I usually can't do a full cardio workout. I use a machine for weight…
  • Hi, I just bought Carb Nite Solution from the site and just finished reading it. I'm already low carb (ultra low carb) keeping my carbs to 20 grams. That part was easy. I'm trying to find a forum because I have some questions. I work out regularly, cardio and weight training but I didn't see anything addressing workouts and…
  • That is not the book at all but contans links that trick you into thinking you can download it for free somewhere else. But you can download it for $27 from www.carbnite.com. I think that's a fair price.
  • I'm in! This is perfect. I was just thinking how I should be making some really good progress by the holidays.
  • I log every single thing I put in my mouth since I became active. I was blaming my gain on going to a brunch 1-1/2 weeks ago and a couple of days eating a cupcake (but definitely keeping myself in a calorie deficit). Since I do not regularly eat sugar generally, I'm thinking the sugar did something to my metabolism so now…
  • Consistency is the key. And when you lift weights the human growth hormone is secreted for even more benefits. Your muscles will almost crave the workout. There are so many benefits from weight/strength training and especially so when you get older. If you can stick with it, training the different muscle groups on…
  • Are you doing any weight/strength training. This may also help you. As your body becomes stronger, when you make more demands on it by increasing your pace, it will work with you and become easier.
  • Glad you BUMPED it because I was going to start a new thread on gaining. I have always trained over the years but I've never used a scale (at least not in the last 21 years). This time I bought a scale since I started training again (and I'm very muscular already). I lost 3 pounds but when I got on the scale this morning,…
  • It definitely sounded to good to be true, but we'll see if I've lost a pound a least tomorrow AM. Thank you all for your input. I've even found an older post on MFP from someone who sounded very scientific who said none of them are accurate because nothing can really measure calories accurately. But we have to have…
  • Occasionally, my shins will hurt and the main cause always turns out to be my shoes. They are finished. I keep heel seats in all my workout shoes but if you use them regularly, they will lose their support and require replacing usually within 6 months. Try getting new workout shoes and buy some heel seats. In fact, my…
  • Yeah the HRM is calibrated correctly for my weight and age. My treadmill doesn't have a feature for putting in your weight and age. It's universal I guess. But it was the just about the same heart rate as the HRM when I checked while walking.
  • Oooooh, sounds like I can put 800 for treadmill instead of the 260. I'm liking it. I'm liking it..... :-)
  • Yes be happy. The plateau will come. You are amazing!
  • My heart rate measured in the normal target heart rate zone for my age and weight the whole time and matched those stats on the treadmill. It was the CALORIES that were drastically different. I don't know which was one is right. I have the HR Monitor settings for my weight and age so that is the only metric that the…
  • Hi, I found myself over the 1200 limit at first too. And with my intense workouts, I was starting to feel a little weak and hungry. What made all the difference is drinking my Green Magma, which is a barley juice powder. Actually, I've upgraded to the Magma Plus. Just 2-3 teaspoons of the powder in your favorite drink,…
