Try some ricotta or cottage cheese instead. Ricotta is whey protein, and cottage cheese is casein. I don't do powders either, I prefer natural.

The answer is Bokwa. Just kidding. (or not.) As a zumba instructor who enjoys just about everything, it doesn't matter, you do what you enjoy most and that's all that matters. Try not to get hung up with calories per hour charts. Choose a fitness program that appeals to you and enjoy. Remember that good health is a…

Neither one is very good for you. There have been talks about colas linked to bone density decrease but its not from the carbonation or it has not been proven to do so under clinical trial. Caffeine is not terrible to you, but too much caffeine has harmful side effects like sleeplessness, nervousness, headaches etc, and…

I know a guy who did it with no exercise, but it took him two years and he ate very little. But then you have to ask yourself, can you live with it taking two years or maybe even longer. And the closer you get to your target weight, the harder it will be. But no judgments, we all have choices to make and I wish you the…

Give your fat clothes to charity. When Hurricane Sandy struck New York and New Jersey, I spent a lot of time volunteering at the displacement shelter and there were never enough clothes for larger people. Statistically speaking women are more likely to donate gently worn clothes to good will then men. And slender or petite…

Sorry, I'm new here and do not know what EBE stands for? I respectfully disagree with you, dismissing the whole realm of biochemistry into a basic mathematic algorithm doesn't much sense to me. It's a harmful oversimplification but I'll digress.

Don't want to stir up too much controversy but fat equal calories in <-> calories out is a myth in and of itself. It over simplifies the equation which does not account for how the hormones in your body reacts to food sources. If you are really interested in the subject might I recommend you read the book "the smarter…

No, according to the Mayo Clinic there is no definitive studies that can link caffeine to losing weight. It also caution that caffeine when used in moderation is safe, but in excess amounts may cause other problems, like insomnia, nervousness, nausea, headaches like a poster just said and increased blood pressure. I hope…

Absolutely! You will be engaging muscles that is missed in linear walking and you'll quickly find that your pants will be fitting looser in no time. And depending on how often you do it and the intensity of the class you will find a whole new level of stamina you never thought you had. :) Sincerely, A zumba instructor.

Really? Is this something new? Maybe I should re-visit them. I have two gym memberships, one with NYSC and another smaller local gym. I'm a group class junkie, I feel the more I take justifies the price I spend on them. :)

PF is definitiely a good bang for your buck, if you're self motivated. They don't have group classes which I need to stay motivated. But it's very good for what it is.

Thank you for the quick responses. No, no, never had a blood pressure problem and I work out daily. (Also a fitness instructor). And that's a load off my shoulders!

Hey Stephanie, Don't lose heart as you are doing just fine! As another poster previously said, it's the bomb and I'm loving that you're taking into the water too because aqua zumba is so much fun! Be patient with yourself and keep on keeping on with the dance party. In a few months, you'll be glad you did! -Cody (licensed…
