I burn 1000 or more kcals almost everyday, but that is only because l work out for 2 hours or more everyday. But don't get too caught up in a number, if you're outputting a number of your own, then congrats! you're doing your part.

I had similar results when I first started zumba and didn't lose much weight at all. But what I did not lose on the scale, I gained in body definition as I got thinner without it showing on the scale. Walking is great and so is spinning, I personally find dance fitness programs suits me better cause it engages more muscle…

Yay that you got licensed! Did you opt to join ZIN as well? I'm getting my toning and aqua license at convention this summer, but I won't do Sentao because I can't even look at it without thinking Jennifer Beals and Flashdance. :P Way to join the party, good for you! :)

love this!

you shaved. :-) wtg!

But why give up zumba/spinning? You can do cardio daily and add them with weight training a few days a week.

Truvia is no more natural because it comes from the stevia plant then HFCS that comes from federally subsidized corn. Rebiana is patented by Cargill, we don't really know how the process of changing in from a dipped tea into a crystalized powder and then there's sugar alcohols which is a hydrogenated carbohydrate which…

Like the others have said, if you find dieting as embarrassing then don't diet. Choosing to eat healthy doesn't always mean dieting. It means you are putting the proper nutrients in your body to make it perform optimally and dieting is too short sighted and it will never work. Remember that when you reach your target…

Do zumba, it's easy, you won't even notice you're exercising. :)

You are aware that eating honey isn't vegan right? I wasn't being facetious when I said it. Outside of killing bees at harvest (for ethical eaters) honey is an animal product that contains animal proteins and animal ferments from regurgitation. If you're eating honey then you're not a true vegan.
-
If you were to ask a Vegan they would say it's animal cruelty. If you ask an omnivore, they will probably tell you sugar is sugar. Try some raw sugar like Turbinado.

It's highly unlikely that you have ketosis after one day. Just saying.

Three is a good goal to have. :) I do about 6 a week these days and one hip hop class, I use to do 12 but then life got in the way. Add that with two nights of weight lifting and you'll be smokin!

Hi Kim, if you are planning to do this as a hobby, then you should really focus on exactly what you want to teach because getting licensed or certified is only part of it. Paying dues, continuing education courses and license renewal fees can add up if you are all across the board with licenses and your not using them. I'm…

I'm a licensed zumba instructor. (B-1, B-2, Aqua Zumba and Toning) by the end of the summer. I'm also thinking about getting Zumba Gold (for seniors) license in the event I may want to find employment on a cruise ship to travel the world again if I so incline. But it's really my hobby although I love to teach and…

No tahini in your hummus?

Absolutely not. I like the tools to count calories and workouts on here, but outside a few on topic posts. I don't really read the forums. FB is different because almost everybody I'm connected to, sans a few followers, I have met face to face and have interactions with in real time. The rest is events invites, I stay…

I do it all the time. I choreograph zumba routines so I memorize the song (though, not really the lyrics since I deal with world music a lot.) I then present it at charity events and give the choreo notes to my friends to use in their classes. I never get tired of music in repeat mode.

I agree with the others, you need to eat more and considering that you're vegetarian, you have the option to eat much more in volume then the rest of us omnivores so please do it. Many years ago, I was in a similiar situation as you, droped 70 lbs in about 5 months, but my reward from that was always being hungry,…

Joy_Joy, I love me some friendship 1% cottage cheese with pineapple, I eat that all the time. I personally don't see any purpose since whole milk is just 3% fat. :)
-
Hey, don't be hating on cottage cheese! ;) You know how much money people pay for Casein powder?

Plus Summer is coming and it looks like you live in a major urban center. look for free fitness events sponsored by large corporations, or park conservancies. There is always something to do from early mornings, lunch times or early end of work days. Good luck with everything.

If you love/hate burpees, join the Spartan Race. :)

FTW, now that pug is cute!
-
LOL, well maybe. :) But when I was there, I was there to learn about the eating and fitness program and not that TOM was not just a boy's name.

You probably never been on the weight watchers forums have you? Not a snark or I'm not sure, but it has much truth in it. :)

I accept it for what it is. A no frills, low priced gym. If you really think about it, gyms makes money from you being a member and not using it. And at least where I come from, it's not uncommon for people to have memberships in more than one gym. (I have two.) And then there are dance studios and specialty boutique gyms.…

ever added crystal light powder into seltzer water? kaboom! hehe.

Hey Sab, I've been an instructor since Sept 2012, but I've been doing zumba for over two years. I take classes about 6 to 10 times a week and on my weekends, I'm either attending my colleague's master classes or I'm involved in zumbathon raising money for really good causes. The process of licensing not hard but getting…

Hi Kara, the first thing you need to do is realize falling down is all part of the thing we call life. And how you get back up is what we call living... With that said, do what you gotta to do to reset your body and as you said, you know what to do to get back on the wagon again. Never forget that good health is a journey,…
