To anyone who wants to quit completely I read Alan Carrs “The easy way” It made total sense to me. It’s not the book for people who want to moderate. Good luck to everyone.

Well Yesterday was the hardest ever I went out very early in the morning just to get away from the possibility of having a drink. It worked Then at lunchtime my wife had arranged we meet friends at the horse racing, everybody was drinking, then out for a curry with 20 people that all had plenty. Even I can’t believe this,…

Day 10 came & went My thoughts came & went Temptation came & went I went to bed, proud, confident, with a sense of achievement. Wow Ok so it’s 7am on a Sunday in England My want for alcohol is huge, the highest it’s been since day1. I wonder Is having a mini goal “Day 10” a mistake? I wonder After the achievement has my…

I certainly didn’t mean to come across as pushy At no point did I say don’t drink, in fact I actually encouraged her to take a drink, when I learnt why I drank I found the solution that was correct for me. I don’t push my solution on others I think it’s useful that people understand why they do things. Oh well, I apologise…

So this is the big day The magical day Why ? Is it a 10 day myth?
-
Good on you, I read an ebook called “quit drinking the easy way” It made perfect sense to me. Maybe read the book Good luck today
-
Well done you, Ask yourself why one drink? Today take just a small sip and then sit back. Now, have a think “do you really like the taste?” I don’t want to know the answer, I just want you to know why you drink. The reason alcohol makes people feel relaxed is because it blocks your brain from working correctly.

Day 9 It’s tough It’s easier than I thought I want a drink I don’t want to drink Last night I went out with 30 people they were mainly drinking I didn’t I think I felt good Afterwards I felt really good Welcome to my roller coaster ride of alcohol addiction

Wow, I didn’t know this existed I’m an alcoholic Decided it was too much when I found it impossible not to drink at 8am For alcoholics it has to be all or nothing I’ve done the all Having a go at the nothing I’m one week in :-) Cold turkey all the way

I’m an alcoholic I’ve attempted to reduce my consumption by giving myself rules 1. No drink before 8.30am 2. Reduce the strength of my drinks 3. Put beer in a different fridge a 20 meter walk So I’ve done about a month On Wednesday I decided I’d stop drinking Thursday 1650ml of beer + 4 shorts Friday 660ml beer, 500ml wine…

I Know how you feel, I think there’s more to weight gain/loss than calories I think there is a real need to learn why we do it to ourselves then maybe we can get out of this cycle. Good luck.

Wow reduce carbs to a 100g, crickey how many do you normally consume ? Maybe a complete change would be good, take a look at low carb high fat way of eating or keto as that’s seems even better at curbing cravings. I’m 5’10” and very active my upper limit for carbs would be 100g to maintain weight, a lot less if I wanted to…

I do eat dairy, not a lot, just as an addition to something. Milk I’ll drink a glass occasionally but don’t have it in coffee. Cheese, I like mozzarella & tomatoes & pesto or cooked cheese in a dish of food. So like an omelette with cheese & milk = too greasy/fattie. Before low carb it was easy I’d have toast for breakfast…

@kpk54 I seem to get bogged down with similar meals, evening meal isn’t so much of a problem now as I got loads of inspiration from this forum, it’s mainly breakfast and lunch I’m now struggling with. For breakfast I eat eggs so that helps, once a week I have white fish and fried onions, once a week smoked salmon and eggs,…
