  • Do you know what an opinion is?
  • Hey, it sounds like we've got about the same goals. I'm 5'2" and need to lose 65 to get to one goal that I have but overall I'm looking to lose 85 to get exactly where I want to be.
  • Couldn't agree more! It's a phase and it will pass.
  • Again, she's TWO! She's incapable of being manipulative.
  • You seem to be the only person that gets this! What people don't seem to remember is that she's 2. After reading the initial post I talked to a few actual educators I know who have not only had to take the psychology part that comes with being an educator, but the nutritional part as well. They are DISAGREE with the "eat…
  • She's 2, they don't fully understand at this age. Once she gets a little older then it's easier for them to understand. Punishing a child by not letting them eat, in my opinion, is cruel. Any Psychologist will tell you, at that age, if you need to put them in timeout, it should be one minute for each year. Past two minutes…
  • I would use trickery! Bake your own chicken nuggets and put them in a freezer bag INSIDE the box that the frozen nuggets came from. Then when she wants nuggets, all you have to do is reheat them. She'll think she's getting exactly what she wants. Don't feel bad or be too hard on yourself, I've had two 2 year olds and no…
  • I couldn't agree more with this statement. There's something about when you walk through that door that, like letting the air out of a balloon, lets all of your energy and motivation escape your body. So, I would also suggest hitting the gym straight from work. That way also, you've got it out of the way and can enjoy the…
  • :-) Ditto! There's a reason we were made sisters. I'm willing to give you a kick in the pants when you need it, and vise versa!
  • No, you're probably right. Not getting enough healing time is the worst thing someone can do for themselves.
  • Definitely good running shoes.... they're a must! I was plagued with shin splint, stress fractures and runner's knee until I broke down and bought a good pair. I highly recommend the Mizuno Wave Creation. They're not that expensive either... around $120 in my area. I haven't had to touch my knee brace or visit the ortho…
  • I like my water cold! I either drink plain distilled water or if I'm in the mood with something with flavor, I add a little MiO. It adds flavor without adding calories or anything else that's not necessarily good for you.
  • It certainly does look like it. I'm hoping that it's maybe due to being a holiday weekend.
  • I weighed in at 201 this week. That's down 2 lbs from last week and 5 lbs from the start of this! I'm pretty sure my TOM is coming up as well so we'll see.
  • That's awesome sis! You're a great role model for the kids... and more than anything, me!
  • I was advised my the trainer at my gym to switch up my exercise routine about once a month. Apparently your body grows accustomed to your routine and by switching it up, it's almost like shocking your system. It's proven to very helpful advice thus far. Good luck and I hope my tip is helpful.
  • That's pure jealousy! I'm so sorry that she did that to you. Some people are just sour souls. I had a friend that when I was at my 15 lb mark and telling her how much I had lost, she responded by telling me that while using Nutrisystem she learned that you should never go by the scale because a pound is like a poop. You…
  • I'm down 3.2 lbs. Last week I was 206.2 and today I'm 203 even. 3 more pounds and I can start tanning again, just in time for summer. I'm so excited!
  • I highly recommend MiO. Ever since I started adding it to my water, I don't drink soda anymore. I will also add that since I stopped drinking soda (the diet kind), my weight loss has stepped it a up bit. MiO comes in a variety of flavors so you don't get bored with what you're drinking. And MiO doesn't add any calories…
  • I think the hip adduction might be hard to do without going to a gym. The only reason is that you're moving the weight away from your midline. If you get a resistance cord, that would probably work. If you're going to do it that way, I would recommend getting ankle weights.
  • I purchased my two daughters and myself really cute lunch totes through www.thirtyonegifts.com. Actually, a lot of the women that I work with have different types of bags from them. They're fashionable and won't make you feel embarrassed.
  • Hip adduction! Most gyms have this machine as well as the hip abduction. The adduction machine works your outer hips. Combine that with the best cardio you can get, running/jogging, you should definitely see some results.
  • Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that. I do most of the cooking in our house as well. Rather than making two meals, I just starting cooking healthy for everyone. If they didn't like it, then I leave it up to my husband to take care of it. Believe it or not, most of the meals that I've turned "healthy", they enjoy. So if he…
  • How is he making you feel guilty? The only reason why I ask is because I had the similar problem with my husband until I explained it to him. He would make me feel guilty about eating certain things saying "that's not in your diet". Eventually I had to spell it out for him. I'm not dieting. I'm changing my relationship…
  • Great story! A lot of people don't realize the small things that we can do to make something healthier. That way it's not difficult. Bravo to you!!!
  • Regardless of whether you are a confrontational person, I would simply ask if you could have a 30 minute lunch break or at minimum, a paid 15 minute. If they say no, just simply say that you were under the impression that after working 6 hours, that you were allowed one. It's not confrontational at all if you deliver it…
  • I would also take into consideration that she's going through puberty. I would definitely talk to your doctor (who is definitely going to be more educated than a PE teacher) and go from there. I can empathize, I have a 13 year old who deals with the same things. She's not fat by any means but is just like I was at her age.…
  • I'm currently at 206.2 and would like to be at 190 by July 4th. 16 lbs baby! I think you should post a new thread every week such as "Week 1: July 4 Shred".... just an idea.
  • You're absolutely right. I normally run/jog on a treadmill so it's easier to track. Although, when I'm running/jogging, I don't hold onto the heart rate monitors so it's probably not as accurate as a HRM would be. I will be breaking down and getting one, then I'll move onto the problem of "which one to get". ;-)
  • Here is the other website that I sometimes use to calculate: http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/calories_burned_list.asp I used to belong to the site, but wasn't a huge fan of it like I am MFP... though this was one cool tool that they had.
